The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

We enjoyed our afternoon tea (which has to be pre-booked, via email). The cakes and sandwiches were nice, although nothing particularly stand-out about them. However, the selection of loose leaf teas was great - innovative flavours and great quality teas. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

We stayed at the Lee Wood Hotel for 4 days and the stay was perfect, staff were brilliant. We only ate one night but wished we had eaten there every night as the foor was excellent. Certainly breakfast was plentiful and the best breakfast for a long time

Been here many times and the quality never fails. Managed to park off road, great achievement as Senior Management recently had a knee replacement. Brand new on the menu was Buffalo Tuna Melt......bloody marvellous that's all I can say.

We have already been here twice since moving to the area in October 2024, once in February as a couple with our dog, but previously in November as a family group of 5 people. Both times have been excellent. It is a really quirky place with a great atmosphere and excellent food. It is great that they offer GF options, and our Jack Russell, Jess really rates the sausages!

After using Millie’s for takeaway lunch at work I thought I would go and eat at the cafe, on arrival I found plenty of parking spaces and the cafe inside had a lovely, calm, family feel to it. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and the portions were very generous

Best fish and chips around. Been twice in the last month after hearing good things about the place and on both occasions it hasn’t disappointed. Great service and delicious food. The fish is the best I’ve had in a long time.

Popped in for a piece of cake. Got some carrot cake and Victoria sandwich. Both cakes were very tasty and moist. Nice staff slightly expensive for one slice so I’m not giving 5 stars.

A good Bakery/ cafe , friendly staff.I had pasta Bolognese bake with garlic bread .The food was cooked well nice and warm.i also had an hot chocolate with cream on top which was very nice

RUDE! I was quite taken aback by just how rude the lady was who served me and my daughter lunch. Every request was answered with a terse ‘no!’ She had quite a bad attitude and it turned our meal quite sour. It’s a shame as all the reviews I had read spoke so highly of the place. We won’t be back.

Fabulous Sunday lunch! I had the pithivier which was a great veggie option and my new favorite thing. My partner had the beef roast which was equally fabulous. Top class food and service. We will be back!

We were served by Simone and I have to say the the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We both had Sunday Roast and it was well cooked and nicely presented.

Nunca he probado comida india que viene cerca de lo increíble era ajays. He estado yendo con mis padres durante muchos años y estoy muy triste que han cerrado hace un par de años ahora, por favor volver!
