The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Very fresh well prepared food , the staff in the restaurant were very welcoming and efficient. The tables were very clean as was the whole restaurant. We had the hot food , chicken pie and chips peas and gravy and cheese and onion pie chips peas and gravy , to be recommended! Lovely , you have to go , we will be returning . A big thankyou to all the hard working staff .x

It was very busy. Atmosphere was great. Bar staff was on the ball particularly Simon and another young girl (blonde), sorry don't know your name, but didn't wait for a pint, everyone was happy and chilled. Didn't have any food but we will do. We'll worth a visit

Stopped in for lunch and some shopping. Tried fish n chips in cafe one with beans and other mushy peas. Very large fish, all fish unlike some the have half an inch batter on each end. Had to wait about 10 mins as cooked fresh and excellent value at £6.99 each.

Enjoyable meal as part of Murder Mystery event. Not the best meal I've ever had but great value. Breakfast was substantial and excellent

Incredible meal at the cast iron bar & grill, we’re a bit hesitant because of the negative reviews but the food was insane, staff were lovely and would 100% return! Such good value for money! Went to the Ivy a few months back and would choose here over there any day :) thank you guys!!

Hotel godny polecenia. Wysoki standard. Obsługa pierwsza klasa. Pokój duży, nowoczesny, czysty. Jedzenie bardzo smaczne. Animacje są prowadzone przez najlepszą ekipę! Codziennie duża dawka śmiechu i zabawy. Nie da się nudzić w tym hotelu. Tydzień to za mało ;) Piękna piaszczysta plaża 🏖️

Sadly, The Rose has closed down, and is now all boarded up. There had been a "For Sale" notice last month, but even this has gone. From a local resident.

We used to love Butterwick, when a store opens, it’s fab- the cakes look amazing and the store environment is really funky. However, our local store Northampton has gone downhill. We went in today and it’s starting to look shabby/tatty with paper notices stuck places and it seems dirty. Floor didn’t look like it had been cleaned for a couple of days and the tables were dirty with crumbs etc, milk stacked haphazardly in the fridge etc. it’s also really expensive. Such a shame as it could be fab.

We went for Afternoon Vintage tea for two on a group on 2 weeks ago. The cafe was freezing. We had to keep our coats on. Service was ok but we were the only customers for quite a while. We have sampled several afternoon teas from other places and Granny Smith's is a let down. The sandwiches were plain and unexciting. The scones were ok. The cakes were very poor and cheap. No flair at all. The young lady serving us was pleasant enough although " no problem" every time she did anything does grate after a while. Course it's no problem if you're doing the job you're being paid for. Won't go back. Won't recommend.

Un pub encantador con un ambiente estupendo y un personal amable y servicial : ) El nuevo gerente ha hecho maravillas a este lugar y lo ha hecho mucho más agradable y acogedor. Siempre me siento seguro aquí y siempre me lo paso bien. Es un pub bastante grande tan grande para grandes grupos de amigos, que siempre encontraremos asientos. A veces venimos a tomar algo, jugar a los dardos o al billar. Quiz Las noches son muy divertido también, no podría recomendar este lugar lo suficiente!

Came here with my sister today for a quick lunch (we shared the fish and Chips). And we had an amazing time.The staff were all lovely and very welcoming, Food came out fast, and is very affordable especially for its taste. and I had a little look in the farm shop. Bought myself a handmade jug and 2 pomegranates which were lovely. Only moved to the village a couple weeks ago so it’s great to know there’s a welcoming and good pub. Will definitely be coming back!

Hemos estado usando esquimal desde que abrió en Lincoln. El personal siempre ha sido maravilloso, amable e interactuó bien con mis hijos para que sea una experiencia especial. ¡Las opciones de sabor son fantásticas y aún no he tenido un combo de mal sabor! Gracias.

I eat here regularly with my daughter, when she has a day off work. The food is always lovely. Main meals offer vegan/ vegetarian/gluten free options, There is good choice of cakes and drinks. The home made soups are always really nice and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The menu isn't massive, but I wouldn't expect it to be in this setting and prices comparable to other cafes in the local / surrounding area .
