Visited the cafe a couple of years ago and to be honest was quite disappointed . Heard recently tthat the cafe been taken over so thought we would come back and try it again . We only had coffee and cake/scones which was very nice but compared to other cafes in the area the portion sizes are certainly not as generous. . The piece of cake was small and the scone was a lot smaller than we usually get elsewhere. We will call in again but please take this as constructive criticism. Other people we have spoken too have said exactly the same .

Poor experience today. Arrived with friends for coffee 35 minutes before closing time. Staff already clearing away and found our visit a nuisance. Rushed service and asked for our empties before we'd hardly finished.

My 2 friends and I arrived at 14.25 for a cup of coffee. We are aware the cafe closes at 15.00. The staff were vacuuming and clearing up. However we received our drinks then at 14.50 a member of staff came to demand to take our cups away. I was only half way down my cup and pointed this out, but it was whipped away anyway. No apology, or thank you or anything. It was not just unfriendly but bordering on rude. Not a pleasant experience and I doubt we will be visiting again.

Sat inside, had coffees all round, twice, each had a meal from menu. Mix of Brunch rolls and tuna bagettes, all came with fresh salad garnish. Followed by home bakes scones, excellent fare. No complaints warrented. All indoors, weather not fit to sit outdoors. Would I come again, yes this is my fourth visit. Recommend theTai Spicy soup.

Just been for a tuna melt panini. Cost £6 and the photo shows what I got. No salad or anything with it. If you eat in, you get salad, so what's the difference in taking out?

Popped in for dinner and found so much more. The food is finger-licking good, the ciders are awesome, the TVs next to the tables are brilliant. We didn't want to leave, but had to, unfortunately. Will visit it every time we are in Newark

We were really looking forward to our first Christmas dinner out, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations and certainly wasn’t worth £120 per head. The pub was packed, and we were squashed onto a table where we couldn’t even hear each other speak—our poor waitress struggled to hear us as well. The Rosé we were recommended was bitter and not enjoyable at all. There were no crackers on the table—just a ‘Fish n Chip Friday’ promotional flyer, which completely killed any festive atmosphere. As for the food, the roast rump was so tough we couldn’t cut it, even after asking for a steak knife. When we requested a slightly more cooked slice, it arrived looking exactly the same, swimming in blood, and still inedible. We eventually gave up and took it home for the dogs. The rest of the meal wasn’t much better. The roast potatoes were hard and heavy, and the vegetables consisted of parsnips, broccoli and Yorkshire pudding —where were the stuffing, pigs in blankets, or Brussels sprouts? It felt like an average Sunday roast, not a festive Christmas meal. To top it off, the pudding options were disappointing, and we had to ask for basic condiments. We were finally offered crackers, but only after the table next to us had to request them. Overall, we had hoped for a memorable and special Christmas dining experience, but instead, we left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.
