We thoroughly enjoyed a family dinner at the Lurcher. Food was well cooked, nicely presented and reasonably priced. Staff were nice, friendly and made us welcome. The only criticism (from our personal point of view) was that one of the customers sitting at the bar was allowed to vape indoors, he also brought his dog in (type of bully or something similar) who we had to pass on our way to the sitting area and again going back and to the bathroom. The dog was walking free and although it looked friendly I felt uneasy whilst visiting with children :(

Although the service in the cafe was slow and the staff forgot to bring me my order, the food was actually very tasty. However, the visit to the toilet was horrendous - the toilet seat in the unisex, accessible toilet had been left up to, to expose the most disgusting orange/brown urine staining (see photo's). I reported this to the store manager, who couldn't have been less interested - despite me showing her the toilet seat, she offered no apology, smiled and stated that it had already been reported and she was already aware of it. I believe she said that it was being addressed next week, so if anyone needs the toilet, you may be better to cross your legs until you can find somewhere more sanitary to use! Very annoyingly, the manager saw fit to speak to somebody on her headset whilst I was talking to her - really disrespectful and patronising. Really not the standard that I expected from Waitrose!

Hidden away a little but well worth finding. I can honestly say that this was the best breakfast I have ever eaten in a CafΓ©. Eggs cooked perfect, Mushrooms well done, Sausage cooked thoroughly and Bacon as I like it. even threw in a Fried Bread as I don't like Black Pudding! congratulations guys, see you soon.

Asked for a lightly battered fish. Fish we got had very thick batter and was very very greasy it was disgusting and very disappointing it went in the bin ,waste of money, chips were also very poor all ends. I would not call this place a gastro chippy. The amount you pay for fish and chips should be better quality

We visited this pub just to try it out as friends had recommended it to us. Even though the pub was not busy it had a nice homely feel to it. The lady serving was very polite and efficient and promptly took our order. I had the gammon steak which was outstanding, no thick layer of fat around the outside just tender meat, my partner had the steak and Guinness pie with vegetables and chips, which was equally as good. For pudding we shared an apple crumble and ice cream. We both enjoyed the food and will be visiting again!

Sometimes the best pubs are the ones you find unexpectedly. Whilst on my way to the Cotswolds, feeling peckish I passed this pub and decided to stop and see if they were doing lunch. Iβm under the impression they had only just opened up for the day as it was rather cold inside and the fire had just been lit up. They had in-fact just turned the fryers on and were doing lunch. I could tell by the offset this pub was very much a no-thrills, pub grub type establishment and sometimes that is just all you need. I opted for a fish finger sandwich and side salad and it was really nice, filled the gap just nicely and at just Β£7.95 you canβt complain. How refreshing it was, to see a pub menu that wasnβt over the top expensive. Now thatβs a proper pub. Food you can afford. Β£9.95 for Macaroni Cheese for example. Where do you find prices like that in this day and age? Yes Iβm sure not all of the food is made fresh on site, some is most likely to be packeted - but seeing this sort of price for a meal in this day and age is just so rare to find and honestly I was impressed. The couple running the pub (in particular the lady) couldnβt have been more accomodating and made sure we were warm enough and were happy with everything. The pub dog was also adorable. This pub deserves more recognition, because not many places like this exist anymore.
