Found this place by chance but it's one to remember. Well organised for social distancing, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The lunch menu had plenty of choice and portion sizes were generous. There was a good choice of drinks also and prices very very reasonable. There were ample tables in the garden. The inside decor was in keeping with a country pub. We'll certainly be back.

The staff at the Bull's Head at Rosliston are a fantastically helpful crew. My husband and I went there a couple of weeks ago to the function room and I asked during the week what they have available that is vegan. The chef made a very tasty vegan chilli and were only too happy to help when I phoned up. Thank you very much, Bull's Head at Rosliston

When I came to this pub I immediately realised how friendly and socialable the staff and customers were. A great atmosphere. The service was on point and so was the food. Definately will visit again without a doubt. I give this pub a 5 star rating.

Great beers/selection of drinks. All staff friendly and welcoming as are customers. Food only at lunchtime but good value and decent choice. This is the best pub we’ve found a mixture of d fashioned service with updated choice of drinks. Reason leaving this review is I’m a Walsall lad born and bred and have no idea where Archie C is coming from. Can only suggest he sticks to wine bars and gastro pubs! Challenge anyone to come to Bull and have a bad experience. The bar is immaculate as in the lounge so haven’t a clue where he gets his comments from. Just tested the Mild and it’s perfect. Five stars all day long!! Cheers Tony

Tried this pub several times over the last couple of years, mainly due to the fact that they sell Banks's mild, but I think today was the last time !!!! The pub has seemed to get worse each time Ive visited but the mild today was absolutely terrible, so much so that I left nearly a full pint to find another pub with some decent beer. The lounge smelt and had no atmosphere so we drank outside. Sorry, but today is the last time I'm giving this pub a chance.

Not many of these delightful country pubs left unfortunately. A fine example of a traditional old world inn. Called in for a quick drink, pleased to say it was everything I expected. Great range of beers and ales, and good home cooked food available. No microwave tasteless meals in here thank you very much. Polite friendly bar staff, happy to chat and pass the time with you.All in all, a great place to visit, cosy, friendly, just what a good pub should be.

We are three retired ladies who like to tho for a walk on a Monday we're don't go too far maybe at the most four miles. We like to have lunch at pubs. Recently we walked around rosliston forestry centre which looked as though it needed some TLC but then we found this lovely pub. Theory have a very varied lunch menu we were spoilt for choice but between us we had sausage egg and chips, lasagne and ham egg pineapple and chips. They were all delicious freshly cooked well presented and lovely atmosphere. We ate in the lounge which is decorated beautifully. . Will certainly visit again pity they don't serve meals in the evening because it would be a lovely venue to go to!

From hero local pub to zero pub in the space of a few months. Another example of new landlords (don’t know who they are as no names above the door) trying to follow in the footsteps of a really great, experienced licensee. To begin all was good, but over the months the quality of the beer and food has dipped substantially, and the once loyal customers have voted with their feet. Different bar staff every week, and if you like a bit floorshow, there’s been a few fights recently. At least they’ve got rid of the toybox, which hopefully means less children running around whilst you try and relax. Shame, looks as

Visited here for lunch with a friend after having been recommended by a different friend whose last visit was about 6 months ago. Pub is in an attractive village and the outside looked well kept with flower baskets. However, on entering the pub we were met with an old cooking fat smell which should have warned us off. However as we had made a special effort and considerable journey we decided to stay and ordered drinks before we ordered food. The bar maid was very pleasant but struggled to find a suitable glass for the gin and tonic as every glass she tried was either badly scratched or cloudy, in the end she served the gin in a Coca Cola glass. The menu was standard pub grub, burgers, curry, chicken nuggets etc. We both ordered the cod and chips which seamed to be the best option. When it arrived it was served with salad which consisted of a single iceberg lettuce leaf about 5-6 gratings of carrot, half a cheap tomato and a Chunk of cucumber also a couple of half rings of red onion. The fish was awful and not cooked even though it was dark brown. It was obviously deep fried straight from the freezer then taken out when browned. The batter was crisp on the outside but uncooked and slimey inside and the fish looked grey. We ate some of the chips, drank our drinks and left. The barmaid was very embarrassed and did say that they had just changed hands and had had dissatisfied customers as well as us. I suggested they change the chef/cook she only charged us for one meal, which going on the standard of the food still was too much to pay. We will not return.

Ordered a drink and asked if they were serving food, we were told food was usually served between 12-2 pm but were shown the menu and they very kindly cooked us food. My husband ordered Gammon and I had the lasagne which we both really enjoyed. We will be returning as the hospitality was excellent, thank you to mine host.

The lady at the bar is friendly and helpful. We popped in on the way home. I had a veggie burger and it was really good (I've had a lot of rubbish ones), the chips were lovely and my mum really enjoyed her steak and kidney pie. Two meals and two non alcoholic drinks less than £20 the food was served piping hot and wishing 20 mins. The menu is small but still had two vegetarian options plus various sandwiches and it seems like the kind of place that if you ask for something they would make it for you if possible

.We are a group of friends who meet up every few weeks and try to look at a different pub and rate them privately, just for fun . 2009 saw our first and only visit and the pub rated it well then. We went to the Bull's Head again in January 2016 and under new ownership this establishment continues to impress. It’s a country pub that does food well. It may be old fashioned in the interior decor but the service is certainly up to the mark. The whole place feels comfortable and “a local”. It was lunchtime in the middle of winter and there was a roaring fire in grate We chose simple lunchtime sausage and fried egg baps with chips plus a ham and chip version......excellent, 2 pints each and really good value at just £11 a head the lot.Make no mistake this is a “pub” but well worth a visit for a semi informal meal and some good beer.

A good honest village pub, that doesn't try to be anything else than what it is. A warm welcome, cosy surrounding's, good beer and good honest value for money food. You probably won't see them being awarded any culinary awards as some of the new gastro pubs strive for, but what you will see are customers leaving satisfied with what they have received! I opted for the Ploughman's, thinking I would have something light after the excesses of Christmas, how wrong could I be, I left 'fromaged' out, and not eating anything else for the rest of the day. If you are looking for something that challenges your tastebuds, then this is not for you, but if you just fancy aride out in the country and want somewhere for a 'nice' lunch, look no further!!

We have had a Sunday roast here more times than I can remember and it has been absolutely delicious and perfect on every single occasion, all the food is sourced locally and the desserts are all home made, honestly we have yet to find anywhere else that can come close to their roast dinner especially the roast beef. This is a family owned and run pub where you will always receive a very warm welcome and excellent service. If you are looking for a good country pub lunch, then you won't go far wrong at the Bulls Head, Rosliston. John, the Landlord and his son Tim, will make you most welcome. The food is good, the beer excellent and the whole pub is scrupulously clean. Beware though, bookings are not taken, so to be sure of a seat, arrive early. Especially on a Sunday, be there by 12.00 noon. Until my wife passed away last year, we were regular customers for eighteen years. That speaks for itself.

The also serve bass so get in there for one. And as for their crisp section, you wouldn't see that in the walkers factory. Following a morning's winter walk, there is nothing better than a warm Pub, a thirst quenching Pint and a hot meal. The Bulls Head at Rosliston fits the bill. An excellent pint of Doombar (Pedigree also available) was followed by Home made Steak and Kidney pie (£7.95) I think pie is misleading as it was actually a puff pastry lid simply put on top of a stew of steak and Kidney meat. Never the less it was well cooked accompanied by carrots and peas and filled us up nicely. My colleague had the Lasagne (£8.95) which came piping hot ( cynically commented on as allegedly micro waved?) but again was declared tasty. All in all a satisfactory Pub Lunch meal on Monday made for an agreeable start to the week.

Visited as a family of 7 for a pre Christmas get together. Booked 7 weeks in advance for 18.00hrs on a Sunday and was asked to choose between Carvery and festive menu. We all chose carvery. Upon arrival we sat down and waited a good 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. In this time we noticed the carvery being packed up. We enquired and were told they had stopped serving!!! Despite our booking. What I assumed was the manager was very apologetic but nothing more. Also there were no pizzas and another item off the menu was sold out. We were brought our drinks and eventually our food order was taken. Food was slow to arrive despite it not being busy and the food was not homemade. The braised beef was not braised beef at all, it did not fall apart and looked and tasted like leftovers from the carvery!!! The food was average at best. When our drinks glasses were empty it took an age to ask if we wanted a refill. After we finished our mains almost 90 minutes after walking in, we advised staff that we would like dessert but only had half an hour before two of our party had to leave. By this time we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Our desserts took a further 20 minutes to arrive. The staff were alright but service was painfully slow. Despite the problems we were not offered any complimentary drinks or anything to smooth over the terrible start. Having worked in customer service for many years this was not a good experience and none of our party would return, and we would strongly advise against anyone else visiting this place.
