The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

We went for lunch - fully recommend the Sunday roast - excellent - we were a table of 7. Everyone was happy - fantastic friendly service and very tasty food. Good value for money. Totally recommend and will return.

The food is fine. The staffs attitude is not. We went outside following our meal to the grassy area with a play area for children where 3 of the party managed to walk through ALOT of dog crap. Two of these were my young children playing by the children area - absolutely disgusting. We then saw after they shut the doors to close the pub a black and white spaniel named ‘georgie’ was let out by the owners to the same patch of grass with nobody in sight to watch it - where it proceeded to toilet. I went to speak to a grey haired long ponytailed member of staff to let them know about what had happened and it was clear it was clocking off time and she could not give a hoot. No apology, no I’ll let someone know. Avoid the outside area completely if you have kids or value not scrubbing ten tonne of poo off of your shoes.

First time visiting and staying in Saltfleet and how lucky were we to have a fish and chip shop on our doorstep! First night we arrived we tried it: haddock, chips, mushy peas, 2 x jumbo sausage, and beans. Let me tell you, my wife is a tough cookie to please but she said that they were the best fish and chips she’s possibly ever had, and I would second that too. What a gem of a place! It was so good that last night, before we came home today, we had them again: this time cod roe, chips, mushy peas, and I still had 2 x jumbo sausage and chips and beans. Absolutely delicious and highly recommend this place! Prices very reasonable too. You must go here!

Food average but very small portions. A rip off at £6.50 for small jacket potato and 2 small topping. I don't recommend it

The Bulls Head is a local hub for people that want to mix with their friends, have a drink from the varied menu at the bar and watch sport. It doesn’t serve food which is available at other locations within a short distance.

Great spot for lunch or for an evening meal. Great quality and portion sizes and reasonable prices- great customer service - what more would you need?

I had high hopes for this chippy! Home made signs at counter, unprofessional staff, not a welcoming atmosphere at all. There was an extremely long wait due to a few prior big orders. One member serving and another young girl helping to pack orders, the chips were nice, pleased about those but unfortunately the kebab meat was cold and greasy, not up to any usual standards. You expect a bit of grease as it’s a kebab, but this was swimming as they had recently put a new kebab onto the cooker this was old meat that had been stood and cold. I will not be returning in a hurry.

Great welcome and instant service with a smile. Quality tea and the best lemon mascapone cake we have ever tasted. Lovely and quiet too.

My wife and I called into the Courtyard for lunch and had a very good meal. My wife had the Ploughmans and I had the ham egg and chips. The meal could not be faulted by either of us! We both opted for the stawberry cheesecake which was sublime. The waitress was very attentive and did a very good job. We intend to go back this week to try other options on the menu.

We booked in and took our kids in the easter holidays There's plenty of choice of what to paint, all individually priced They really enjoyed it with no pressure time wise for them to be finished There is a wait for the pottery to be fired, ours was a week so we've yet to go back and collect them but they said there is no rush so Coffee was also reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly

Went for lunch .Ordered a mushroom pizza .Barman was really helpful throughout our visit and told us about their deals available ...The mushroom pizza was well presented and tasted delicious .Will definitely be going back .

Absolutely gorgeous food served very hot and fresh probably the hottest and fresh meal I’ve eaten out in months friendly welcoming staff and great prices

Food was delicious but we both feel that it could have been hotter when it was served. The waiting staff were very efficient.
