Spot on chips and fish was perfect and mushty peas and curry was okay ask where Joe was new owner now friendly staff all round okay 👍

So disappointed to be served with unedible fish and chips after long journey down straight after work tired and hungry , don't want to be to harsh we've had lovely food in the past but if you don't complain the owner won't take any action , more consistency needed .

First time visiting and staying in Saltfleet and how lucky were we to have a fish and chip shop on our doorstep! First night we arrived we tried it: haddock, chips, mushy peas, 2 x jumbo sausage, and beans. Let me tell you, my wife is a tough cookie to please but she said that they were the best fish and chips she’s possibly ever had, and I would second that too. What a gem of a place! It was so good that last night, before we came home today, we had them again: this time cod roe, chips, mushy peas, and I still had 2 x jumbo sausage and chips and beans. Absolutely delicious and highly recommend this place! Prices very reasonable too. You must go here!

The new management has no control to change opening times on here. Please see up to date menus and the specials board is frequently updated. The shop is open 7 days 11:30-8pm until 31st August then it will be open Monday-Saturday 11:30-8pm until 16th November. The shop will then close for the season and then reopen again 1st March 2025. Visited here after arriving at local caravan park, admittedly because it seemed like the only option. However, pleasantly surprised, food delicious despite long wait as they cook to order. The two ladies are a great team and are very polite and don't get flustered. Lots of extras to be had and very informative. Highly recommend but be prepared to wait.

Great fish and chips, a must visit if in Saltfleet! Value for money, great service, very clean and good menu. Opened lunch through to the evening.

This has had many reincarnations over the years,last year was passable due to value for money, this year not a good experience for me personally. Fish over cooked, chips dry,mushy peas had hard lumps in them and unfortunately the take away price was equivalent to me having a restaurant special at several establishments within half an hour drive.My next take away is the van at Somercotes.

Very good food, massive portions and freshly cooked. You will need to wait if you order as they cook from scratch and this shows in the quality. We went 2 nights in a row!

Reg fish,small chips ,xmall peas and a bread cake £10.Not vad value but Fish was overcooked with soggy batter ,poor standard.

Probably the worst I have ever had, chips were raw. We ended up having to throw the lot away. Seems to be another tourist trap.

We popped in here as a family of five so quite a big order . The lady serving was nice and recommended the Lincolnshire fishcake which was lovely . All enjoyed our meals back at the caravan .

First time of going there. Nearly gave up because it took so long to get served, but it was Friday evening so yes it was busy but the wait was a very very long wait Perhaps more staff needed? . Fish and chips were ok, Not the best I have ever had but were ok. Fish did not taste that fresh.I know prices are all going up but I thought for a meal it was not best value for money.

The most amazing chips. Opening was a little restricted 12-5 but it was gorgeous quality and worth it. A little expensive. But big portions, it was enjoyed by all the family.

Asked for large fish What I got was a very thin cheap fillet, which was small and looked like a fish finger, very dry and tasteless and I got charges £5 for, all thay are doing is ripping of the locals and the holiday makers Will definitely not be going back and would never recommend them

We had fish chips and peas October last year 2021 they were fantastic had them today they were the worst we have ever had rubbish chips was greasey and cold I don't think the fish was cod the best was the mussy peas we will definitely not be going back.

Since the passing of Joe, this place has gone to the dogs. The staff clearly not trained in food hygiene, but if they are they blatantly ignoring the rules. The fryer had stoned rings on her finger, a definite no no. same copper dyed hair frier woman checks temperature of a pie with a temp probe, then wipes said probe on her dirty apron and puts the prob on a shelf next to a tub of probe wipes which I could see had some in. flies everywhere, insectacutor not turned on. order taker, full of peircings and black glasses, handles dirty cash, then gets a tray with chicken nuggets on it, moves them to one side with her hand, then places chips on tray and wraps. wrapping 2 fish without grease proof paper means they stick together once unwrapped. fish straight out the fryer into the hot shelf then wrapped no time to drain, soggy batter fat everywhere. dopey spotty lad I think she called him John. picks up a filthy dish cloth, wipes his hands on it, then wipes vinegar pot, wipes his hands again then picks up a breadcake and puts it in a bag for a customer. how the DUCK this place gets a food standards agency rating I've no idea.

Went in for a small fish and chip order. Three staff shuffling about, but the short queue of only five or six took forever to move. Was served after 40 mins.....very poor.

Fish was freshly fried, but unsure what type of fish it was. It wasn't fish shaped, so dubious about what it was. Chips were ok. Not the smartest of establishments.

Has been renamed after the former manager who has passed away. Advertises traditional fish and chips but does not identify the type of fish. Fish did not look like a fillet of cod or haddock also chips very greasy. We only had a takeaway here once and would not go back, we very much preferred the haddock and chips served at the Crown Inn.

Traditional Fish & Chips are advertised by the roadside so we turned in excitedly. The car park holds 4 cars and we were the 4th so I was happy to get parked and it didn’t look busy inside which at 13.10 was a stroke of luck.Fast forward 32 minutes and my daughter is still not back in the car. I started to worry she had been abducted. How long could it really take to order and collect 2 fish, a chips and a peas?? The service was the worst I’ve ever witnessed. Everyone was on a go slow and absolutely no apologies for the long wait. The food was ok but to be honest we were so hungry by the time we got back that anything would have sufficed!!

Excellent we had lovely traditional fish and chips delicious, friendly staff would definitely recommend.

One of the few places to get a take away on a Monday night in the area. Go any night as it's well worth the visit, great food, value and service.

Yep was great. We were a little concerned with it being so close to the caravan site that the quality would t be great but it really was amazing. All cooked fresh so it took a little while but was great quality.

Nice fish and chips. Really enjoyed the crunchy batter which is something that often disappoints. Chips were delicious too. We called off after a long walk in the dunes, around 3pm, and were the only ones in the shop. Everything was cooked to order. People are moaning about the wait in their reviews but surely nobody wants a fish that’s been sat there for hours, do they?!

We visited on the way past to the next village. We stopped to wait for the fish to be cooked. It was Lovely but huge portions!

We went as a family to sea the seals at Donna Nook and on the way home we were ravenous, a quick Google directed us here and honestly it was perfect, chips crisp on outside and fluffy on the inside, fish was firm and the batter was just right. Best fish and chips I have had in years.

Popped in during a stay at Sunnydale. There was already someone waiting for an order and we only wanted chips to take back to the caravan to make butties. They cooked the chips to order so the wait felt long and when we got them back they weren't even hot, barely warm, which I couldn't understand having had them freshly cooked. £6.50 for 2 large portions plus a large curry sauce.

Used this chippy on a few occasions and every time you have to wait even if your the only person. Once I asked for chicken and was told that if I call in the morning they would get some out for the evening????There never seems to be anything ready, you have to wait for fish, fish cakes and even chips this creates a cue.

Maybe, I suggest that you don't go on a Sunday evening. Website says it isn't open. I have been here often over the five years I've lived nearby. I have usually enjoyed it and would say it was some of the best I've ever had and I wrote a really good review, but tonight the fish was very overcooked, the chips were so well cooked they were really hard. I hope it hasn't changed hands and I'll review again next time I get fish and chips, one more try seems only fair.

We arrived quite close to closing time but still good choice. Cod and chips were lovely, reasonably priced and very decent portions. Fish was very fresh and tasty.

Slow service the fish was okay but small and the chips were terrible and to top it off this was the dearest fish and chips I have ever had

Our 2nd visit to here and didn’t disappoint again, freshly cooked beautiful fish in tasty batter and delicious chips, also had a Yorkshire fishcake it’s the nicest I’ve had in years! Kids meal great too! Def worth a visit.

well got portion chips was not very hot not very fresh hard and the prices for food are very expensive specially for pies i know its a caravan park but no need to charge so much would not go again .Not very nice food sorry

We were staying at the nearby sunnydale holiday park and walked up to here one evening to get our tea!

First went in October, school holidays and unfortunately they had run out of fish and fish cakes! So we ended up having scampi, which was lovely. Tried again in November, can honestly say it was the best fish we have had. We did have to wait which was fine, as it was freshly cooked. The batter on the fish was delightful. We will be going again! Be prepared to queue if it is a Friday but it is worth it!

Nice meal, especially when the chips are home made. Large fish and chips can be a tad expensive, but worth it.

Lovely fish and chips, always fresh , a busy little shop, huge portions of chips and fish, you will have to queue on a Thursday,Friday and Saturday, I can queue for 40mins, but it's worth it. Give it a try, it's lovely

It might seem a little pricey when you first go in but the fish was freshly cooked to order and they are very generous in the portions of chips that they serve.

We decided to pop into this little chippy last night and had ended up having an excellent good value for money meal. I think this is the best takeaway establishment in the area well done.

Limited parking but luckily got a space. Short wait for food to be cooked had one portion of chips, mushy peas and cod between us which was ample. Average chips and peas but fish was very tasty and batter wasn't too greasy.

Stood in a queue for about 30 minutes to place my order but it was really worth the wait. The fish and chips are superb with good portions and reasonable prices. The staff work their socks off continually cooking the food and it is all done in a cheerful manner. Well Done

Surprised that nothing cooked to go but since reading other reviews can see that its cooked to order. Obviously on a plus point its hot & fresh, the negative.. no.one likes to wait. Next time will phone the order through in advance.No queues at this time of year.Found the prices to be reasonable. Portion size of regular was ok and the food was tasty.Will return again for sure.

Was made welcome at Sea Waves even though it was some time after noon that day. Was not long before I was served with the order. Food was presented well and wrapped up for me to take out.

Went to see the seals at Donna nook and found this place by chance, had regular fish and chips with a side and was cooked very well and delicious. We ate in the cafe and had a hot drink with it. After seeing the seals all we wanted was a toliet stop, hot drink and fish and chips and this place ticked all the boxes. Place was cleanz and service was friendly and helpful, prices very resonable.

Sea Waves has a limited menu, but the food is always cooked fresh to order and is hot and tasty. The prices are reasonable and the opening hours, even out of season, are convenient.

Lovely friendly staff who freshly cooked the delicious cod and chips for us. Large fish is great value, if you can eat it all!! The medium fish is ample for the average appetite, also, portions of chips good. Will visit again when next in area. Can't understand the bad reviews as the service and food we had was very good and the prices reflect the average for the East Midlands.

Firstly don't believe the bad reviews on here. The fish is beautiful and come in 3 sizes,small,regular and large so all appetites catered for. Chips are well cooked and freshly fried. I was a little dubious having read bad reports but was served by a lovely young lady and an older ( bald) gentleman. Both were very pleasant and chatty. Very pleased and was cheaper than what I pay in Derby

These people never fail to please. Great value and lovely customer service. Well worth a visit. They do a Monday special, two Fish and chips and a side for £11 eat in or out. Can't fault it

It's an okay chippy, close to the camps in Salfleet, smaller portions than we'd like but the chips were nice and salty.

Not bad food but the portion sizes were very small. I suppose there's no local competition so you get what you get. Next time I'll travel further for the real deal.

We had food from this restaurant twice and was very good both times. Not expensive at all for a family. Good portions only down point was they forgot to add salt an vinger no big deal though.

Came here on two occasions. First time lovely. Second time the girls seemed stressed. Long wait, worth it for the food as was nice! However they seemed more interested in going out for a cigarette. However would still go back as food is nice!

We called into this place after arriving late at a local caravan park. We arrived 30 minutes before they closed but felt as thigh we were imposing and rushed.We spent the best part of £25 on four meals ( two were kids) so a bit on the pricey side for what we had. Just don't expect service with a smile - there appeared to be a sense of humour failure of epidemic proportions. Food was okay but nothing sparkling, so overall wouldn't be in a rush to go back.

Very friendly staff, greeted with a smile and service is better than most pubs in the area. Fish crispy and chips perfect. You can't go wrong.

Not sure I've ever queued for quite so long in a chippy before (that said, it was 6pm) but when we got the food, it was great. The fact they were so busy meant it was all freshly cooked and whilst it was 'only' fish and chips, it was damn good fish and chips. The Yorkshire fishcake was also excellent (essentially an East Yorkshire (as opposed to Hull) version of a patty). All in all, highly recommended for a quick and easy tea. Not the cheapest chippy around, but then it's on a caravan park so you expect them to notch the price up a little bit.

Jo has to be one of the best fish fryers on the East Coast. He knows his job and it shows in his food. His fish is always cooked as it should be and I have never had a scrawny yellow fish ( fresh fish is white and fluffy) His staff are friendly, and the cafe' is clean. But expect a wait on the counter in busy season, he does get busy :-)

A great local fish and chip shop. Fish is cooked fresh just order as you go in. Usual types of fish and fish cakes with choices of side orders. Very clean and 5* hygiene awarded. Great service and prices. Always busy which says it all.

Always consistently great food. The sit in restaurant is spotless and is a great place to take your friends and visitors. The manager can be a but grumpy at times but the staff make up for him. They are lovely.

Reasonable price and portion size. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. Nothing more to add.

As we are caravanners near the Seawaves chippy, we go there a lot and can honestly say that we have had great service and ok if food is being waited for at least its hot when you get it ! The fish is excellent and so are the Yorkshire fish cakes,and I believe the portion sizes to be spot on !All the family visit when they are down there and myself & hubby always pop in for supper on a Friday evening after a little drink in the New inn or have a chat to Joe on passing through the site.Will miss it all through the closed season and cant wait to go back in March ! Save us a big fish Joe! I have never seen any cleanliness issues

Rubbish portions, expensive, the cleanliness of staff leaves a lot to be desired ie: smoking,You don't mind waiting for good food but you have to wait a long time here and the food is not worth it.

Been here a couple of times now. As you do at most similar eateries you get a lot of chips. The chips are good as are the Fish. The only gripe I have about this establishment is that while waiting outside for the food to be cooked one of the staff came outside smoking in sight of everyone, then straight back to serving. Please give staff a place to smoke out of site from Customers.

Been here a couple of times, not sure I went back a second. Average food at best with awful slow service,unless you're starving and got at least 20 minutes of your life to waste go anywhere else. ...

Very good fish and chips, should be they are right near the sea but couldn't fault either the quality or portion size only thing letting it down is its decor is a bit tired

We have a chippy tea from here twice a month, some of the best fish and chips we have tasted , the Yorkshire fish cakes are also very good , highly recommend

Really tasty fish and chips. Mostly cooked fresh to order. My only gripe is that I eat far too much!

This was disappointing and quite expensive, a lot went in the bin, the fish was in a soggy non crisp batter and the fish inside was greasy but chips were hard and somewhat raw.

We decided to stop here as we was staying at the Sunnydale caravan park we got here about 19:30 and we were the only ones in the shop, we was greeted by a lovely young lady who took our order, we ordered 2 fish & chips, with sides of curry sauce and peas. We probably had a wait of between five to ten minutes as the fish was all cooked fresh we paid a different lady with blonde hair, both of the ladies working in the shop we both friendly and full of smiles. We took the food back to our caravan the food tasted amazing and I wanted to go back the next night unfortunately my partner had other plans but I'm already looking forward to going back next year. It was all very reasonably priced and the staff were awesome.

really good quailty fish and chips scallop fills you up alot so watch out apart from that is lovely but sometimes you wait alot

Called in here as we were stopping in the Sunnydale Caravan site, we had to wait around 15 minutes to be served, The food my children got they did not enjoy the nuggets what came with there meals and i tried one and they did taste rather cheap. I had a pie as i'm allergic to seafood and i am glad i am, My Wife had fishcake and she said it was horrible and very greasy my Father in-law had fish along with his wife and even he didn't finish it all, he said " he has had better". My pie was nice though but you cant go wrong in cooking a pie.Would i recommend this chip shop, no i would not save your money and find somewhere else to get your supper from.

Popped in on off chance as late afternoon and they were open all food cooked fresh while you wait - Fish and Chips Restaurant is on a caravan site at the entrance very friendly staff the meal was excellent value we had two regular fish and chips and it was plenty quality of the food was good it was not greasy at all just as I like it and the fish was excellent not smelly like some have overall I will go back to this take away when next passing by and would recommend to holiday makers coming this way
