Excellent coffee, with Oat & Soya milk options available. Really good selection of cakes, even after 3pm, including tasty vegan options. Bad customer service! Will not be visiting again. Would NOT recommend. Politely raised an issue with the paninis ordered, this was a massive inconvenience for the staff. Visited this cafe today. Not greeted with any friendly enthusiasm at all. The smell of coffee was beautiful and the coffee machine made all the right noises, but unfortunately my flat white was like a cup of warm milk. We left both coffees on the table full and half full. Decided to venture to this beautiful town for lunch and a walk round the country park and found this establishment in a pretty little courtyard. The staff were unfriendly and there was a very limited choice of menu. We chose toasted sandwiches and a panini. The panini was dry and very uninspiring and the toasted sandwiches were the strangest and most unappetising I have ever seen (one slice toasted, the other slice left dry) all served in polystyrene containers. The cost for those and three small bottles of coke was £21.75!!!! Would not recommend at all and I am shocked that the business is still trading.

Stopped for a pot of tea and a cake but it all seemed very difficult. No pot, no china cups unless you wanted to sit inside where it was boiling hot. Cake on a polystyrene tray not a plate. This is all very unfriendly and very unenvironmental. A terrific waste of plates and cups rather than washing up. No wonder the cafe was empty on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I wouldn't recommend it

06.07.2022 - At the bottom of arcade we spied this establishment. It was totally void of people which I found unusual as it was Market Day in Market Bosworth. On entering we were met with masked staff situated behind a plastic screen. Most off putting. Ordered 2 coffees which were expensive and in recyclable cups. I requested that we had china cups only to be told they were for people sitting in. It was a very hot day so we sat at a table by the door for air. Did they think we were going to run off with them. There was no atmosphere - it was sterile. What a difference with the establishment across the square where we had afternoon tea. The staff were pleasant and efficient and no masks anywhere.

We were on our annual group bike ride and stopped here as our usual place thyme was unfortunately closed. We arrived and asked if we could order outside where we were seated as we didn’t bring masks on our bike ride. The answer was a rude NO from a dark haired middle aged man. We couldn’t believe after being closed for so long they were like this. Will never go here again and will tell all our friends in the area (a few who own businesses in market bosworth) not to either.

I visited today with my husband and daughter. It was snowing and cold outside. We secured the last remaining table (two pushed together) for lunch. We’ve been here quite often before for drinks, cake or a sandwich. Today, we ordered two toasted sandwiches, a panini and drinks. My husband’s panini was quite hard. They dropped one of my daughter’s sandwiches on the floor. They brought a replacement of one triangle of a toasted sandwich. They don’t seem to make any food from scratch here. I expect this is because the kitchen is quite small.

Café Torte is situated at the end of a courtyard off the market place. It is small inside, probably 16 covers, but there is seating outside in the courtyard. We only intended to have a coffee but on viewing the menu we decided to stay and have some lunch. The paninis were excellent and came with a small salad but the coffee was superb. It has to be the best cup of coffee I can remember having, anywhere. We left and had a walk round the village and had no hesitation in returning for another cup before we went home. Coupled with friendly service it is well worth a visit.

The Cafe has sitting room inside as well as around 8 tables in a pretty little Courtyard . The menu suited us. We ordered Soup of the day, with gluten free bread, my friend had home made Banana and Chocolate Cake and we both had a hot drink. I cannot fault any of it. Great Hot Soup. Called in last week to have a lunch with my husband. We both had a jacket potato, one with tuna and mayonnaise the other with coleslaw, and the menu stated with a salad garnish. One potato skin could not be cut with the knife given and therefore had to pick the skin up with fingers to eat it. The potatoes were not very hot and the salad garnish consisted of approximately six dry salad leaves. We were not asked if we would like a salad dressing and we did not know if one was available. Nobody came to the table to ask us if everything was alright with our meal. Very disappointing, not sure I would go again, nor would I recommend it.

Liked that it was situated in a quaint courtyard and could see with it's outside area that it would probably be very popular in the Spring and Summer season. However once inside and a glance of the menu we found was quite limited, fine if you like Ham, Cheese or Tuna as these appeared in it more often than not. Decided we would still give it a go and order anyway, my youngest is quite a fussy eater, so my wife asked if we could have beans on toast a reasonable request you would think seeing as they had beans and toasted sandwiches on the menu but apparently not we were told. With that we looked at each other in disbelief and got up to leave, the chap behind the counter did politely say try the cafe down the road, which we did and they were far more accommodating and were also £20 better off. Can't believe as they were so quiet they let us walk out of their establishment and lose our business, sad really...perhaps not the place to take small children!
