Horrible customer service. This is not the way to treat your customers. Kept me hanging for a week, without confirming or properly responding to whether or not my order has been replaced. I was given the impression that my order was being processed, but in reality, I was being ignored. They could have been upfront if they did not want to take my order. Really obnoxious and disrespectful honestly.

I purchased a to good to go bag from them but they were advertising the wrong address so I couldn’t collect. I contacted them several times about a refund but were totally uninterested about me getting a refund and kept referring me back to to good to go.

We first reserved this location since the hall and parking were ideal for our son's wedding party in April 2024. We looked over every arrangement, including the hues, snacks, and beverages. We even made a deposit with Paul on the same day we saw it, and he was really accommodating and helpful. The fact that the chef would be on vacation and unable to prepare the food we had requested was never brought up. When we called to discuss the reservation and inquire about the possibility of a meal sample, the woman who answered the phone was incredibly unpleasant and unhelpful, unprofessional, rude and unsympathetic telling us she has had to come back from maternity leave due to unforeseeable circumstance and that they are not able to cook the food we had requested therefore our reservation had to be cancelled at short notice. The scary thought is if we had not contacted them they would not have contacted us and we would have turned up on the day assuming everything would be ready.

I’d heard good reports so decided to give it a chance, we ordered two chicken dinners and a beef. HELLO!! Where is the chicken?two tiny drumsticks is not a chicken dinner.,cold veg served as well. When my wife complained about the chicken she was told that’s all you get.,no slices no leg just two drumsticks, I’d avoid this place for food. I know it was cheap at 7 pounds but I’d rather pay more and have a meal I could eat.

Real Ale drinkers will know that Greene King are a brewery, they own pubs, they sell real ale in those pubs, they have 3 main sellers Abbot, IPA & Old Spackled Hen, usually all three are available in their pubs, NOT SO in this one. How poor is THAT !!

Where do i start.. staff need to get manners. Food was Luke warm Windows need a clean so does the floor. Cutlery wasn't very clean either. Outside is full of smokers and cig ends on floor. Will be sticking to my regular Cafe 91 further up street. Staff who work in cafe buy kids cigs from the shop next door as the kids are under age absolutely shocking behaviour they need to be reported!! Avoid and don't waste your money

Waited 40 minutes on Christmas Eve to buy 2 white loaves of bread. Opened first one bread was hard, second one the same . Not very nice. Thanks Christie

We were looking for a non pub meal early evening. Went here at 18:30 , board outside offering meals, no-one inside, told we are fully booked. More like we were wearing shorts - tailored I might add. Pretentious little place that does not deserve to survive

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! Every time I have paid for extra portion the owner was ignoring my request and was giving me such small portions and when I’ve complained they have stopped delivering to me because they had to refund me £1.20 for the extra beans and they weren’t happy about this. They were cancelling my orders every time I’ve tried to order and only couple months later I’ve decided to order from them again and they’ve started delivering to me again and when I’ve asked the driver about what’s changed he told me it was because I’ve complained about the beans and it made them angry but the reason they delivering it now is because they’ve lost too much money in the business. I was a regular customer and was ordering from them every weekend. He said if I have any issues or complaints to ring the restaurant directly. When I’ve rang the restaurant and spoke to the owner about my missing food she was so rude and wouldn’t let me speak!! She said it’s because they’re making cut backs so I’ve assumed that was the reason I was missing the food I’ve paid for. I had to put the phone down on her in the end because the way she spoke to me was disgusting!! Won’t be ordering from them ever again.

We stayed here with our young family in January this year. My wife has reviewed the hotel below, titled “disappointing”, this was mainly due to the lack of communication prior to and following our stay. The below response it to the managements response from her post, as I am unable to respond directly and his response was inaccurate. Hi Richard/Chris, Thank you for such a prompt response. I expected that I would receive a reply to a public review. As stated, I did complete the feedback and sent a follow up email and have still not received any personal correspondence from you, including in my spam, however, I have received regular spam emails from the Grove. It may be worth checking your spam box for my feedback, as I said, it was completed promptly. As feedback was requested on multiple occasions following our stay, I hoped that it would be used productively, to improve your service. My review was factual, and you have now also demonstrated that not only are you not interested in your guests’ opinions, but you are also rude and condescending. We received the initial confirmation on booking but no follow up emails, apart from as mentioned above, spam. The booking email promoted the restaurant with no mention to the restaurants being closed and only stated that the breakfast included was for ‘reservations made directly through us (including our website) include breakfast as part of the nightly rate)’. The fact that the restaurant is closed for the first three weeks of January was obviously not clear on your website as that is where we booked. It would be helpful to make the booking email clearer or specific for the cottages and to include the closure of the hotel and restaurant during January, to prevent disappointment. Clearly the bathroom has had a hard 12 months. As mentioned on the feedback, I called the morning of our trip as we were concerned that we had not had any correspondence. The receptionist advised that there was one slot left for swimming, which we were advised to book, the Saturday or Sunday was fully booked and the other day had 2 slots. The day that we left we had to swim before 8am as it was booked out for school swimming for the rest of the day. Anyway, once again, Thank you for your rude/sarcastic response Richard/Chris, I feel that you have confirmed to any guests questioning your ethics, that they are in fact, quite poor. As advised in the feedback, the staff that we met were friendly and welcoming, I hope that you treat them with more respect that your guests. BW
