Hoppers' Social Distance Inn in Preston

Glad to see this place next to the Ibis north Preston when we arrived. Popped in for a quick meal. I wasn't expecting much as it's a chain. I was pleasantly surprised. The portion are huge. I had the Southern fried chicken in garlic ciabatta about a quarter way through I realised I'd never finish it and had to give up on the bread 🙈 it was cooked really well full of flavour. If you're an adult and not a big eater (and hate wasting food) I recommend ordering from the kids menu. My partner had the mixed grill and asked for steak to be cooked rare... again we weren't expecting it to come that way but it was. Staff are really friendly and are on the ball when it comes to allergen training. I would definitely eat here again

Tried the Sherwood for the first time & unfortunately it will be the last Some of the food portions were really small for the price, ordered a boneless southern fried chicken starter which was £5.99, I was shocked when it came out to see 3 tiny southern fried chicken nuggets, had to order a second portion which worked out at £11.98 for what was 6 tiny chicken nuggets, cheesy chips portion was also the smallest I have seen anywhere The flatbreads & mixed grill we ordered were value for money Bar service was slow & people who came up to the bar after me were being served before me I had relatives visiting from Wales on the visit which made it even more disappointing

Possibly the most hostile and unfriendly pub I’ve ever walked into - horrible pints and horrible people all around. Outside seating is teaming with flies, inside is dull and smelly, patrons are similar.
