Fish is fresh and curry sauce is good too. I won’t say it is the best but I think it’s good and fresh.

Absolutely love this pub. Food is awesome reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and we've made a few friends with the locals would definitely recommend

This was like stepping back in time to the 50's- 60's. Pints of craft ale pulled from large wooden kegs behind the bar, a jolly not so old barman, Loved it. The food was great too, nothing ultra fancy but served relatively quickly and plenty of it for a reasonable price. Dog friendly. Just when you thought that Woodbridge area pubs were all commercial chain types you come across this gem. Long may it be supported and continue.

I've visited this fish and chips shop many times. Usually I would have given a better rating, but something has changed. The queue outside is normally fairly long, but the service ensures that it moves quickly. This evening, despite several staff working, everything was slow. The fish was full of bones which I haven't experienced for a while at any fish and chips shops. I started eating and immediately was pulling bone after bone out of my mouth, and the person I was with (who I'd told how good this place was) was being polite and pulling bones out of their mouth saying "I'm not that hungry, I'll just have a bit"🙄. To be honest, the chips were greasy. I'll caveat the above by saying that last year the fish and chips at this place were good, so perhaps just an off-day, but hopefully this isn't a permanent change! Moving on to Aldeburgh itself.....in years gone by, there was always a strict "No feeding seagulls" to keep the seafront a nice place to eat. The seafront was always tidy. This evening, there was litter all over the place. Wooden forks laying all over the floor, seagulls eating discarded chips on the pavement, empty ketchup sachets thrown on the floor etc. This is unusual for Aldeburgh and hopefully won't become a permanent problem! Prices at the Golden Galleon - £24 for two medium (small and bony) cod and chips, 2 x cans of Coke, and 2 x sachets of ketchup.
