The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

I have been coming here since it opened and can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience. Until today I don’t know what Paul did to my fish, but when I got it home it practically flew into the bin. The batter was far too thick and was burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside. The fish was old and dry. I really hope this is a one off, but it has made me think about coming again. Even the chips were undercooked Come on please sort this out

Our group of dogwalkers visit this lovely most Friday mornings for a coffee and a chat. The coffee and cakes are great, the staff are professional but friendly (they know our order now) and the ambiance is lovely. Sometimes we sit outside although the dogs are welcome inside as well. Well worth a visit.

Situated beside the Blaenavon Heritage Centre and what a nice surprise, plenty of choice of food with lovely friendly lady's to help you make your decision.

Went here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The menu is varied with quite a few choices. It was quiet on the day we went. Food was good and service was ok.

Very good special hot baguette (bacon, Brie and chilli jam) and vegan spicy vegetable pasty. Very good coffees. Not too long to wait, and made to order No complaints and visit again.

This hotel currently does not have a restaurant - what a deception. The hotel manager claimed they could not source chef and so they were unable to offer meals at the time of our planned stay and tea/coffee making facilities amount to a sachet of catering coffee with dried milk sachets - totally disgusting!

A sweet little chocolate shop in Market House. I was grateful for the vendor making a mixed bag of buttons- including five flavours- and I treated myself to a Bakewell Bar, also.

Amazing place, will be so sad to see it go in a few weeks. Love the food, staff are fantastic, and every time I have been they have been supportive, helpful and fully experienced. Considering some are volunteering, they are an amazing team. The food has always been way above average. Will miss this place.

Having just had a similar afternoon tea in a castle in Cheshire we can say that this was streets ahead of that and any other other afternoon teas. The setting is very glamorous, the staff well trained and the food was lovely. Really made the day for our parents' anniversary.

My family went to the cafe this morning i ordered 2 eggs 2 bacon fried tomatoes bubble snd hash brown my husband had a burger my son had porridge and my granddaughter had sausage and chips my eggs were hard and swimming in oil my bacon was undercooked so my husband had that the bubble was not nice the only thing i ate was hash brown they forgot my 2 slices of bread and butter so i had to go to the counter my husband’s burger was average and my son said his was not very nice i definitely won’t go back and neither will my family such a shame it used to be very good cafe but not anymore

Nice cafe cheap and welcome visit had five breakfasts most ok but the catering sausages are the worst in the universe tasteless mush revolting surely a modest price increase and we could have butchers sausages needs to improve.

Popped in on Wednesday evening for a mid week carvery, very good value for money at only £5.95. Very friendly couple running the pub, shame we are not local as we would come in every week. If we are in the area again we will definitely be popping in.
