Having just had a similar afternoon tea in a castle in Cheshire we can say that this was streets ahead of that and any other other afternoon teas. The setting is very glamorous, the staff well trained and the food was lovely. Really made the day for our parents' anniversary.

We stayed in a beautiful room and enjoyed snacks, drinks and dinner. There was a choice of a tasty traditional cooked breakfast or a few lighter options. Delicious food!

We arrived for afternoon tea and were directed down the corridor and turn left. Not the lounge as we were expecting as stated on the website. It was a bit dark in the room and as it was a sunny day asked if we could eat outdoors. We were told no at first then the girl said they would bring everything out. The afternoon tea was excellent and plentiful. We didn’t order a drink when we ordered as wasnt sure what we would fancy on the day. We decided to have Prosecco which was more expensive than champagne. As we were having afternoon tea we didn’t expect to be charged this much extra. The staff were brilliant and had it been a day to spend indoors we would have preferred the lounge. Of course there was a wedding on so couldn’t of gone in there. So I can only suggest you don’t go for afternoon tea when there is a wedding.

Beautiful meal with plenty to choose from. Well worth the money and the added bonus of being able to visit the Birds of Prey centre in the same grounds.

My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon tea @ Walworth Castle last Sunday. Jessica made our reservation over the phone and made a point of asking about food allergies, preferences, etc. When we arrived we were seated in comfortable chairs in the quiet lounge area. Requested tea & coffee were brought to us by Andrew who efficiently looked after us during our meal, always stopping by to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and cheerfully answering any questions we had. Our afternoon tea involved a multi-tiered offering of sandwiches with various fillings (including my wife's absolute favourite - shrimp, and I nicked one too...), sausage rolls and a multitude of desserts that we just couldn't finish. I'd be "circus fat" if I did this too often!! The ever-efficient Jessica made a point of stopping by our table as well to ask how everything was. Thank-you all for making this such an enjoyable visit.

We primarily went to visit the birds of prey centre adjacent to the castle. We were very disappointed with the castle. We visited on a Sunday, when we asked for a menu we were told they only did roast on sundays, which was fair enough, but no smaller options available. The food was mediocre, some of the veg was uncooked. Not allowed to take picnic on site, had to food purchased, surely very difficult to balance a plate of roast dinner on your lap to eat outside. No sandwich option either. As I said, our primary visit was to go to Birds of Prey centre. We had walked round and watched a display, we asked if they had a drinks machine to purchase a drink, it was an incredibly hot day, but the centre is not allowed to sell drinks or snacks, or anything that will take trade from the castle. The price is ridiculous at £2 per glass bottle of water, not really a safe thing to carry back over the field to the centre, especially awkward when 2 of my party are disabled. Surely a water dispensing machine could be supplied or a vending machine. Solely supplying water?!! Very disappointed.

Recently visited here for a friends wedding, venue was great. Staff were lovely and the grounds were well looked after. The rooms however were very small and dated - the food wasn’t the best either.

We thoroughly enjoyed a pot of tea and some delicious scones, with jam and cream. The staff gave us top notch service and the building is beautiful. There’s also a great kids outside play area too

Phoned in advance to check children's menu. Julie on reception very helpful and friendly. Late Sunday dinner very helpful as very busy lunchtime. Carvery was superb, offered beef, ham & pork mixture with perfect crisp Yorkshire pudding, sweet, fresh vegetables, delightful roast potatoes and tasty, thick gravy. I was bursting at the seams with generous portions! Super kids meal deals with 2 courses for £7 and fresh strawberries and home made ice cream to accompany chocolate Brownies. Callum was courteous and polite serving. Julie, front of house manager on reception was the perfect host, topping off a perfect evening with photos for our family in the historic dungeon dating back to Henry viii and having links to knights and Lords fighting at Flodden Field, secret tunnels to hide Catholic priests and suits of armour, medieval paintings and ornately carved wood panelled corridors. A truly spectacular place for weddings and great themed events: free classic car show, murder mystery evenings and medieval banquets.

We had a very nice afternoon tea. The food was delicious, the surroundings superb and the presentation couldn't be faulted. The service was the only thing that let it down a little. Once served we didn't see sight nor sound of a waiter or waitress. That said we thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea would recommend it to others. We combined this with a visit to the Bird of Prey center and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Afternoon tea - the building could use some tlc it could me spectacular but feels unloved. The staff were fine when they were there but when you needed the it was like hide and seek. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The furniture in the tea room was fab but the room lacked atmosphere a little background quiet music may have helped. Bit of a shame really a little imagination love and attention and this place could be fantastic

Amazing place. Booked it last minute, but was surprised at the beautiful location and hospitality. Small yet beautiful room. Ordered Fish & Chip as room service and they never tasted better. Castle itself and surrounding grounds were absolutely grand! Will definitely go again! Highly Recommended!

We booked to go to Walworth Caste Hotel for afternoon tea, however, due to a bout of sickness were unable to go. We rung the hotel numerous times on the morning we were meant to go to give them advanced warning we couldn't attend but no-one answered, finally when someone did answer they were extremely rude and told us we that we hadn't called before because there were plenty of staff and our call would have been answered. When we then explained the situation, why we couldn't attend and asked to rearrange our booking they refused saying they once it was booked that was that. The hotel took our payment when we booked weeks ago and I find it terrible that they would not let us rearrange for a genuine reason. We were not looking for our money back, just to enjoy the afternoon tea another day. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone after the service we received.

Awful food. Terrible attitude. Owner has high opinion of themselves and customer service is absolutely zero. Avoid at all costs.

Extremely poor customer service, while ordering a drink they stated they did not have the ingredients at hand to order the cocktail they advertised on the bar. Then as I tried to decide on another drink the extremely rude and abrupt bar staff rang the bell and stated I could not have another drink.
