Brilliant place. Staff great and food hot

Popped in before going to the theatre for tea and ordered a bit too much ( lol ) food came hot and quickly. Friendly staff. It wasn't too busy and for a hungry horse it was very clean.

As frequent visitors to the establishment. It is pleasing to say the service and quality remain as good as ever, food sublime and staff as friendly as you can ask for. A big thank you to Sammy who helped us out on Saturday, 24th January 2025, between movies at the local Vue cinema.

Friendly atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices but unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing! Everything appeared to be deep fried including the mushrooms and it was all floating on a bed of oil/grease. Also a lot of the cutlery was dirty.

Last food orders 8.30 not 9 like website says.

Had a gravy burger and Mac n cheese and kids meal. Always our family go to Lovely food very friendly and attentive front of house and kids love

Ok ordered the Sunday lunch deal with drink and meal was excellent value, but was spoilt by the parents letting the kids run wild around the pub like a play park. We have grand kids and no way would we let them run around, rolling on the floor around other diners. don't blame the kids blame the parents. Do think the staff should have told the parents to stop the kids running about.

Always come for dinner, staff are always lovely and welcoming, lovely and clean.

Can't fault this place at all. Staff are always so friendly and helpful, food is outstanding. Me and my husband always have a great experience at the Hungry Horse in Darlington. Thank you to all the staff for always making it an enjoyable experience.

Our 3rd consecutive year of having our works Xmas meal here and it was great yet again. This year there was 63 of us and the staff dealt with us all brilliantly. See you next year!!!

Food was very bad had sloppy Joe what can I say poor very poor hand full of chips and two slices of bread with something on it kitchen sounds like a party going on poor very poor 😢

The staff was excellent; they were friendly and the price for drinks and food was reasonable. The food tastes and looks fantastic. Lovely, pleasant, joyful atmosphere. Would recommend.

Great atmosphere when the football is on and always friendly staff

We come here regularly and it was the first choice for a family gathering after a weekend away. Close to home and convenient for our group. When we arrived the woman wasn't very welcoming at all. I explained I had specifically requested a certain table, away from the crowds watching football. She ignored this and showed us to a table under the TV and surrounded by the patrons watching football screaming and shouting Shortly after sitting down we noticed the chair was dirty... some form of faeces. When I asked if we could move I was told I could have the table id initially requested when I made the booking! The food was just to say warm but edible I hate leaving bad reviews but from the moment we walked through the door we felt unwelcome and that we were a bit of an inconvenience. Like I said I come here 1 or 2 times a month and have never had a problem. It is what it is a chainy pub, cheap and cheerful however my most recent visit was a disappointment

When my Dad put the wrong table . They were super nice and helped us change or table number so our food got to us

Visited today with family meal was fantastic as always and service from ameilia was brilliant also Sammy went out of her way as there was no hot chocolate and got some sachets for us so we could have it then made a fantastic baileys hot chocolate nothing was too much trouble lovely friendly happy atmosphere

Love this pub:) I come here every Thursday for the quiz (which is also very fun). The staff are great; they’re super friendly and easy to get on with and the prices of drinks and food are good too. The food tastes and looks great, I’ve never had an issue.

I popped in the Woollen Mill on my way home from work. I tried the festive menu it was very good value for money . The staff were very friendly.

Amazing food and brilliant service would recommend

Bog standard pub chain food. Chicken skewers were rubbery and didn’t taste nice, you can tell they are pre cooked and just re heated - not worth the £12.99. No coleslaw either - how do you run out of coleslaw? Cutlery isn’t even brought over to you, you have to get it yourself and the tray it’s kept in is dirty.

Visited for the quiz night which was good fun! Great atmosphere. Affordable drinks and always someone at the bar which is great. The food was a let down. Missing items from orders which should be informed before preparing or serving the dish as I wouldn’t have ordered and paid for them if I knew. If kitchen or front of house staff notice a dish has missing ingredients it would be great if they could ask customers if they would still like the order and offer a refund or replacement. However we visit here every couple of months and don’t often have this issue as the server usually lets us know.

Great atmosphere with lovely staff and good food. The drinks are reasonable prices and there's cheap parking out the back. The Wi-Fi is a decent speed as well. The Bar Staff that served us; James, was a great chat, with a warm, bubbly personality that made us feel welcome.

The pace is great staff are great but the food was dicusting I ordered stake ale & mushroom pie & all I got was crust & gravy no filling in the pie I was told there food is bought in no chef no homemade food I think the place needs closing down & a revamp on food like home made food very bad pub never going there again any 1 thinking of going avoid the place

Myself and daughter called in for a bit of lunch today, staff and service was very good. Food was really nice a big improvement in quality and also big portions. There was a nice chilled atmosphere ideal for a nice quiet lunch with a sleeping baby

Poor. Tables were sticky on arrival. Cutlery had old food on. Food (Rump Steak & Mixed Grill) was bland and tough. Chicken Wings greasy and tough. Chips tasted like they'd been cooked in old fat. Disappointing.

Met a friend for an evening meal, the service was exceptional from start to finish! Would highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere and really friendly, helpful staff. Great value having 2x Sunday roast plus alcoholic drinks for £10 each. Let down a bit because table wasn't clean, menu was sticky, fork had "bits" in it (hadn't been through the washer properly) plus a blob of ketchup on the furniture (pictured). But then, what do you expect for a tenner?

Myself and Mel came into woollen mill and had two chicken and bacon baguettes with fries and it was spot on fries and baguettes were hot and tasty! The service was impeccable and was the service. I do come down quite a bit with the kids also and we’ve never had issues. Thanks team we will be back.

It's cheap but not cheerful. Tired furniture and sticky tables. The food came out very quick but I doubt that has much say on its quality either way. A big place with little atmosphere but you can't ask much from a place like this. Weatherspoons is better value I would say and just ever so slightly better quality. It's the furniture that really got me. Black worn out arm rests and sticky tables. Come on.

Honestly the food was unreal and good customer service. And clean and tidy would eat here again most definitely recommend it to anyone.

I went in today and the environment was amazing, great service and the staff are polite and very nice to be around, the food is so good and my whole family enjoyed it, the atmosphere to be around is also child family with high chairs already provided for you, they are also some good family arcade games in as well to keep a child entertained along and if you sit in the booths there is a mini tv in which you can change the channel and turn the volume up overall it’s a great environment to be around and I would totally recommend to go and enjoy it like I did.

The food was incredible as always and the customer service was amazing. The lady with the dark hair working on the morning who served us was so lovely and honestly so kind and sweet ! Will definitely be coming again 🩷

Family dinner time called here in the rain and got a comfy booth seat ,great menu and good deals carvery was good and kids meal and snacks spot on ,was just before 12 on a Sunday and was getting busier,only 2 staff on floor one serving food and the other behind bar they were kept busy but fine helpful and pleasant and proffesional.i would have give 5 stars but almost 6 quid for a Perroni pint come on.would come again if in area and get tap water ha.

Staff were all so lovely. Came in with all my family and having 2 wheelchairs with us, the staff were very welcoming & helped us to move spots to where both wheelchairs would fit. Ordering at the bar, the service we received was amazing. Food came quick & was very delicious. 10/10 from all my family

Me and husband took our 2 small children for lunch our 2 year old naturally doesn’t like to sit still and wanted to explore witch staff were good about our server even went for a walk around the restaurant with us chatting away with her and took her to get some crayons and activity sheet.manager was really helpful in making sure that our sons meal was dairy free and suitable for a little person learning to eat. All our meals were hot fresh and absolutely delicious! definitely will be going back next time we are in the area

Me and my wife decided to give this a try , never again didn’t charge extra for hair in her fish and chips which was a bonus avoid this place wife is away to toilet to be sick as we speak 🤮🤮🤮

As always friendly service from the staff, they've always got a smile and are attentive if you need them. Been coming here for a few years now partly for that reason! Came for Sunday dinner and roasts are fairly standard fare but the amount of food for the price can't be beaten and the potatoes specifically were excellent.

I visited this morning with my daughter for breakfast with the Easter bunny. What a lovely morning. The lady behind the bar was fantastic nothing was to much trouble she was so friendly and made so much effort with my daughter. I asked for things separately on the food she was so helpful and kind made me feel at ease. The food was lovely and arrived very quick. My daughter loved seeing the Easter bunny and loved her pancakes. She is so happy with her egg. Her words were I can't believe I've met the Easter bunny. Thankyou so much for a lovely morning.
