The best restaurants serving Brasserie food in North East

Absolutely incredible food! Seriously, this is about the fourth time we’ve ordered from here and it’s like it keeps getting better! Delivered quickly and red hot; tasty food, nice bit of a kick! Really cannot fault it! Would highly recommend!

Exceptional food, been traveling round Britain for work for ever and this is the best restaurant / takeout I’ve eaten in at this price. You won’t find a better chip in Britain

Wonderful staff, so hospitable. Gorgeous food and so creatively presented. Perfect start to an evening at the theatre with friends. Have ordered on Just eat too (although quantity of food was less than served in restaurant?) But still amazing and enough to eat. I ordered the one person platter (3 kebabs with rice) and a feta salad as a side. My friend ordered a curry with rice and chocolate cake.

Soy un usuario de silla de ruedas y entramos sin reserva un sábado ocupado a las 6 pm en un día de partido en Newcastle después de luchar para encontrar un lugar accesible cerca del Teatro Real. El personal era muy acogedor y encontró un lugar para que pusiera mi silla al lado del bar, ya que puedo caminar distancias cortas. La comida era absolutamente deliciosa y había mucha elección! Un hallazgo brillante y sin duda volverá.

We visited Palanquin on the spur and chose the special menu which was £13.95 for 2 courses. The choice was very good and the portion sizes big, with the main came either a rice or nan but if there are 2 of you the rice portion is big enough to share 1 rice and the a nan.The quality of the food was superb and service was spot on. All in all a great customer experience , we will definitely be back.

Had food for the first time at Champs recently and it was fab and will definitely be returning for food. I had a loaded nan bread. There was loads of chicken and chips on top of the nan bread. There was a little bit of curry sauce over the top and also a bowl of curry sauce so I could add more. Husband had Yorkshire pudding wrap filled with beef, which came with chips and a jug of gravy. He said the beef was cooked lovely and was very nice. We thought it was worth the price we paid.

Good drink and tasty food, clean premises, friendly staff and locals I spent 3 nights eating and drinking there. I will visit again if in the area.

Food terrible and very late and cold. Wouldn’t recommend to even someone with no sense of taste. Anyone that would order must be desperate.

The place is not called Coffin club it's Meat Up and has been for a while and it's different staff with out of this world food, drinks, service and offers. There were 4 of us and 2 of us had 241 cocktails and 2 had pints. The 241 offer seems to be on most of the time. There was also 10% discount just for coming. The lady who appeared to be the Manager or owner is amazing and makes you feel at home. The food was sublime and I can't fault the place at all, in the slightest. If you're in Sunderland and are a meat eater or vegetarian, you're hungry and you want somewhere to eat, go to Meat Up! Mmm.

Definitely different from your average takeaway, we got the mega box which was great value with various meats and sides. Pre ordered and was ready on time. Great service and food prepared with love.

Delicious ham & cheese omelette with side salad. Work nearby, wanted a high protein lunch cos I’m doing great north run next week… This was absolutely the best choice: tasty, great value & made expertly!
