Definitely different from your average takeaway, we got the mega box which was great value with various meats and sides. Pre ordered and was ready on time. Great service and food prepared with love.

Dreadful food, cheap and tasteless, flavour isn’t their strong point, salad was warm, chicken terrible, curry sauce is powdered stuff 🤮. The look of the food is outstanding but when the food looks good it should taste good. Just avoid at all costs!!!

Absolutely terrible. Spicy flatbread was cold, dried out reused chicken and some fried onion with peppers Beef chilli was just bland mince and the chips were really dark. Triple cooked I doubt. The chicken wings weren’t wings just cheap nuggets in a sauce. The dough balls were just cheese and red pepper filled grease balls that shot out grease when you bit into them. The poorest takeaway I have ever had and I feel that I should have just burned £30 as a tribute to the gods.

Absolutely awful. Ordered the smokehouse box, the chicken was rock solid clearly too long in the oven bog standard oven wings from iceland, watery pulled pork and beef from sitting in the slow cooker all day, chewy ribs that are under cooked with the membrane left on anyone who has done ribs knows it should be removed. Flavourless and hard flatbread, pork bon bons overcooked almost black. The Jack sauce is clearly just a bbq sauce that they have watered down in house. First time ordering and I won't be back, can make 10x better in my own smoker, which you clearly haven't used as there's no smoke ring.

The Food Emporium has returned. The premises, previously signed up as The Dessert Emporium, is open again with a new phone number, new seating for in-house dining, but the same delicious Sunday dinners. The Dessert Emporium signage disappeared with no fanfare, and quieter than Jimmy Savile’s headstone, and has been replaced with probably the same signage as The Food Emporium’s first incarnation, and seems to be again doing a roaring trade. It was very sad that The Dessert Emporium never seemed to materialise, or was a brief existence that I missed, which is a shame, but I’m sure the proprietors have an efficient business plan for the whole thing. Covid friendly screening exists, so if you want to eat the food on the premises you can do so - there’s seating and tables for about 12, and the food’s as good as the last time I raved about it. I ordered a beef and a pork dinner today, which came with all the trimmings, veg, fluffy, crispy Yorkshires, stuffing balls, but initially no meat 😱 Thankfully we’re not far away, so a phone call and a short walk quickly resulted in more than equivalent compensation for an easy oversight in a busy environment. I have a full stomach and a very satisfied Sunday appetite as I write this, and wish them all the success possible going forwards. Cash and card payments both seem equally welcome, but don’t try ordering on the old number because you’ll not get through lol. The new one is 0191 6592124. Nom nom 😋👌🏻

Had food for the first time at Champs recently and it was fab and will definitely be returning for food. I had a loaded nan bread. There was loads of chicken and chips on top of the nan bread. There was a little bit of curry sauce over the top and also a bowl of curry sauce so I could add more. Husband had Yorkshire pudding wrap filled with beef, which came with chips and a jug of gravy. He said the beef was cooked lovely and was very nice. We thought it was worth the price we paid.

Wonderful staff, so hospitable. Gorgeous food and so creatively presented. Perfect start to an evening at the theatre with friends. Have ordered on Just eat too (although quantity of food was less than served in restaurant?) But still amazing and enough to eat. I ordered the one person platter (3 kebabs with rice) and a feta salad as a side. My friend ordered a curry with rice and chocolate cake.
