We found this little Indian restaurant by chance when visiting the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful - gave us advice on best curry dish for us and our child. We had buhna, jalfrezi and patia. All very tasty and generous portions. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Don’t have takeout curry often but Gurkha has always been my go to. Had my usual Pokhara masala which used to be the best curry I ever tasted but tonight it had the spice but flavour was very bland. Lemon rice was also bland and stodgy and onion baji’s flavourless. Appreciated the free poppadoms, spiced onions and dips but the starter and main was no better than a supermarket microwave curry. I was disappointed tonight unfortunately.

The good stuff: the decor is cool, the music creates a fun atmosphere. The staff brought me a piece of cake with ice cream and a candle and sang happy birthday with my friends, which was really nice of them and totally unexpected. The service in general was ok. Things to work on: It’s normal to have a clause when you book that you can only be at a table so long, and that’s fine, but I don’t think it is necessary to say it on entry - especially if you tell the customer the wrong time as then it sounds like you’re trying to get rid of people before they’ve even sat down! I always think it’s nice to be asked if you would like a drink even if your whole party has not arrived, and to check whether more are needed later. This is a general bugbear I have with UK food places - it’s like people don’t want to sell you stuff! We had two different height tables pushed together and there was not enough space unless you are very thin or a child. The toilets had a check sheet which had not been ticked off for hours and this could be easily identified by the state of the toilets - I used the female and disabled whilst I was there and both were not good. And we would have overlooked all of this if the food had been good. It was average at best and this was the general consensus from my friends too. The food was well presented but not great. I ordered their signature spiced noodles which were a bit bland, the chicken and prawns kind of melted away in your mouth (not in a good way) as if they’d been left in a pre-made mixture rather than being fresh. Maybe we got them on a tough day but I was really surprised they had received such high reviews before. A shame really.

The second of two visits this month, and I've been very happy with both meals. Ordered chicken rogan josh on the first occasion, and was pleasantly surprised with the size of the portions (as at least one other other reviewer noted, large pieces of tender meat). The same was true with the garlic chilli chicken, although be warned: that's a hot dish, no mistake. 10% discount for collection of orders above £15.00; free starter for orders above £30.00. Highly recommended.

Absolutely Horrible food,Ordered a butter chicken with two garlic naan, but to my surprise I got some chicken tikka in a sweet orange gravy.Absolutely no flavour at all.All I can taste is sweet coconut gravy.I Know that the butter chicken is supposed to be mild,But a curry being mild doesn’t mean it has to be flavourless or you can just add load of sugar in the gravy.I own Indian restaurants abroad, and I have tried a lot of Indian food from all around the world,This ought one of the worst Indian food ever.So much so that I had to write this review.SAVE YOUR MONEY AND COOK HOME OR JUST FIND SOME BETTER CURRY HOUSE
