The good stuff: the decor is cool, the music creates a fun atmosphere. The staff brought me a piece of cake with ice cream and a candle and sang happy birthday with my friends, which was really nice of them and totally unexpected. The service in general was ok. Things to work on: It’s normal to have a clause when you book that you can only be at a table so long, and that’s fine, but I don’t think it is necessary to say it on entry - especially if you tell the customer the wrong time as then it sounds like you’re trying to get rid of people before they’ve even sat down! I always think it’s nice to be asked if you would like a drink even if your whole party has not arrived, and to check whether more are needed later. This is a general bugbear I have with UK food places - it’s like people don’t want to sell you stuff! We had two different height tables pushed together and there was not enough space unless you are very thin or a child. The toilets had a check sheet which had not been ticked off for hours and this could be easily identified by the state of the toilets - I used the female and disabled whilst I was there and both were not good. And we would have overlooked all of this if the food had been good. It was average at best and this was the general consensus from my friends too. The food was well presented but not great. I ordered their signature spiced noodles which were a bit bland, the chicken and prawns kind of melted away in your mouth (not in a good way) as if they’d been left in a pre-made mixture rather than being fresh. Maybe we got them on a tough day but I was really surprised they had received such high reviews before. A shame really.

The food here is so authentic in taste. Portions were just right too. Highly recommend lunch/dinner here. We had an early dinner and the waitress helped us choose, she was spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Andreea always super helpful so ask for her.

Arvin was not accommodating earlier tonight. We were treated as if we will not order anything and made sure that the table he provided us was “good for the business” as what he said.

Just got their £5 Katsu Curry lunch box, it's a great deal for the size of the box but mostly filled with rice and hardly any chicken!

Very decent meal as per usual and lovely service from the manager, John. It does feel like the quality of the food has gone down over time, but it's still good value, particularly with a Tastecard.

Visited here for the first time a few days ago, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The food, the service, the atmosphere was great, staff were friendly, definitely will be going back!

It was my first time trying Banana Tree, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I went for the Chicken Katsu Curry along with some Prawn Crackers, both were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and with a fully Halal menu offering plenty of variety, there’s something for everyone.

Super loud and crowded but other than that, the food and service was quite splendid I must say!

Good food quick service. A tad loud but hey didn’t spoil the experience. Definitely recommend. It was a shame that there was no veggie or vegan option for the papaya salad. Hopefully they will consider adding. Don’t let that put you off ☺️

Banana Tree never disappoints when it comes to taste and consistency. We’ve tried their Greenwich and Soho branch and both have delivered on taste and service. They’ve great Vegan/Vegetarian options, I love the Tofu Pad Thai with Vegan crackers! Can’t wait to be back :)

Staff were friendly, food was good. My order of beer was forgotten after at least three reminders, including once AFTER food was served. The reason of 2 stars is because after that mistake, the staff had the balls to hide the “discretionary service charge” that was added by default by folding the receipt right above where that was written and hiding it.

This was our first time at Banana Tree. We were impressed by the menu and went in. Here we were greeted in a very friendly manner and treated with understanding. Praised how well we can speak English and given really good advice and conditions. The food was really delicious. I can really recommend it. The toilets are also very clean.

Amazing pan Asian food .. the sauces and flavors were amazing. We tried the chicken dumplings - they were really good and the sauce was Amazing We tried their Pad Thai noodles - it was really good and chilli sauce was full of Flavors Amazing experience!!

Considering we dine in a number of pan Asian/south east Asian restaurants, the food was mediocre at best. Considering the 4.5* reviews I was expecting more from the food but felt that it was a bit bland. 🔹Food service could hav been faster. Came on a Monday evening and the place was relatively quiet. We therefore expected a faster service but it took quite a while to get our mains as well as the desserts. 🔹Lacked flavour - Ordered the pad Thai and the banana tree spiced noodles and I felt like it was lacking flavour. The spiced noodles is supposed to be spicy but I couldn't taste the spicyness at all - tell a lie, I did when I had the piece of chilli! 🔹Mango rice pudding was very disappointing. Probably the worst I have ever tried. The consistency wasn't right and needed more flavour. The ice cream overpowered the taste of the mango. The portion was small but honestly it wouldn't have been an issue if it tasted good. 🔹The pancakes were ok. Unfortunately no 'wow' factor but it was definitely much better than the rice pudding. We personally wouldn't be going back as I felt that it was good value for money and considering the wait (in an almost empty restaurant) we were left a bit frustrated.

food is all halal, food was lovely and tasted amazing, service was very good, Paula and Alex were very helpful with the food arriving in time for Iftar as we were observing Ramadan, in short: great place to dine with family or by yourself.

Ugh. Expensive for basic food Uninteresting cocktails The only plus is that it's in the heart of Soho and with a (basic) children's menu.

Alex was very polite, friendly and her customer service was very good. She did everything to attend to us and made sure she checked in between meal to see that we were satisfied. I will definitely recommend Banana Tree to family and friends.

Nice thai food. Expensive. When we received the bill, we paid and notices only after that there were an additional 12% charge, that you can refuse but it hasn't been told before we paid. Not very good

A bit pricey for what it is, but the 241 cocktails are good value. Surprisingly quiet on a Sunday lunchtime for the location. Also, was promised a shot for writing a positive review so not sure if this is positive enough as the shot never came 😂The service was friendly enough.

The waitress lady with a pony tail quite short Asian looking, was extremely rude to me. Firstly the table they gave had no cutlery and when asked for she shoved the cutlery cup at my face. When I took the cup from her she shouted at me “just 1”. I found that extremely rude and she needs to go learn some manners and because of this I won’t be attending this branch again. Food was good though. It is also always extremely busy however you don’t have to wait long to get a table.

The waitresses were great, friendly (Alex & Iveta) they let us have a bigger table so we could sit next to each other which was nice and all food came out promptly.

Really nice food, the meat was really tender and juicy! The cocktails are ooookay, but it’s not a cocktail bar, so it’s okay :) The restaurant itself is pretty, but a bit loud, that’s why we’ll give only 4 stars. Iveta was our waitress and was really kind. Would totally recommend this place!

I called to enquire about the approximate wait time and an incredibly rude guy with an asian / Indian accent answered the phone and said I can’t travel in time and predict and he actually had the nerve to hang up while I was still talking! 😆 I haven’t even visited and I got the worst experience!! Came in summer - took 2 hours all in all to get starters and food Came again in winter - same situation again. The waiter admitted to being understaffed and especially busy today. Prices are high but service is extremely poor. Not down to waiters but the extremely tight person who is hiring 2 rather than 4 people and saving labour costs!

The pad thai was good, but the Long Island cocktail we ordered tasted like iced tea mixed with cola. There was no taste of alcohol at all, even though this drink is based on five different spirits. Additionally, the waitress told us that they only had small glass bottles of water, so she brought those to us. However, five minutes later, I noticed that at least four other tables had large bottles of water to share. I believe this restaurant scams tourists. I do not recommend it! At the bar next door, every other cocktail actually tasted like it had alcohol. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he felt embarrassed and didn’t charge us for the service.

Unfortunately the chicken was cold, when they offered to take it away to cook a ‘fresh meal’ it came back reheated and my guest had already finished. They failed to also bring the whole order. The manager was disinterested in my complaint and I had to ask for an apology which he reluctantly gave.

Alex was fabulous and amazing- she was very polite and checked in on us to ensure we were happy with their service! Which we were!
