I remember popping over after a little trip away, so was keen on some authentic Malay food. Now bearing in mind, I’ve been there and know what the cuisine should taste like and is capable of delivering. The place had a funky smell to it and the food was quite disappointed - lacked flavours and freshness, and the icing of pain was that it was super pricey for the portions/quality provided. It was microscopic for my appetite. The staff were kind and friendly, but it’s really not an appealing spot that is inviting or has a welcoming feel. As for the food itself, I’ve made better at home. 4/10.

Its been over a decade since i last ate here. I feel that the food quality is about the same; its good for something away from the flagpole but nothing to write home about. They dont skimp on the flavors, but portions could be better/improved for what you pay for. There was very little meat in the daging salai masak lemak but lots of bamboo shoots. Seating is very tight. You get bumped every single time the server or guest walks behind your chair if you are seated in the aisle when there are a lot of patrons. It gets very annoying quickly. There was a guest that sat at our table when one of us vacated the seat to go to the bathroom because i guess they wanted our table and was pressuring us to leave. It may have seen like we were done eating or something, but not all of our dishes had even arrived. We were still waiting on the desserts. The servers looked like they did not care and we had to tell her off. Food took a while to get out and they came out sporadically. Drinks came out quick though. Overall, a good place to get a taste of malaysian food while in london but the dining experience is lacking.

I don't usually write reviews but this place was so lovely I had to !! I got the chicken curry with rice and it was amazing, would definitely recommend giving this place a try and for sure be coming back. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and greeting everyone with a smile (and a Salaam if they saw you were visibly muslim). If I wasn't going back for the food I'd defo be going back for them :)) The place itself is also very muslim friendly. There's a prayer room downstairs (only big enough for one person at a time, and also has a wudhu basin inside too), they don't serve alcohol at all, and the entire menu is halal, with a couple of vegetarian options. The actual dining area is quite small but it does feel really intimate and homey, it wasn't busy when we went (just before 1pm) and it was a really nice vibe/environment. It's a little pricey but that's to be expected in London. It's definitely cheaper and far more authentic than the other Malaysian restaurant down the road though. You know Tukdin is good when Malaysian people choose to regularly dine there and enjoy the food a lot. - Fried Garlic Chicken - so so crispy and full of flavour, was a little tough though but that could just be because I ate it after it sat on the table for a while - 6.5/10 - Chicken Curry with Rice - literal perfection, the curry was so creamy, with the perfect level of spice and the portions were so big. they definitely weren't stingy with the chicken as well as there was so many pieces - 10/10

A great find at Paddington, we were looking for an authentic Malaysian restaurant and Tukdin delivered! The location is small and therefore crowded with a wait, but the staff were courteous and friendly and helped seat everyone. Tukdin is a great spot for halal Malaysian food in London. We tried a few dishes during our visit, and while some were better than others, overall we had a good experience. The nasi goreng was a bit under-seasoned for our taste, but it had a nice kick of spice from the anchovies. The char kwe tiau was pretty good, although some parts were better seasoned and more moist than others. The oxtail soup (sop buntut) was a standout dish - the meat was soft and tender, and it was a comforting and satisfying dish. The chicken curry was good, although it was a bit too thick for our liking. And the mie goreng mamak was pretty good. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Tukdin and would recommend it to anyone looking for good halal Malaysian food in London. We have eaten at Tukdin many times over the years. The food is consistently good but the hike in prices is hard to justify. Nearly doubled in price since lockdown and whilst we appreciate prices have risen and energy costs are ridiculous, but the increases are getting beyond our budget for a simple meal at lunchtime. £4.95 for a small bowl of kroepuk? I get a bag of hundreds of uncooked kroepuk for less than I paid yesterday. Also if you order together, you expect your dishes to arrive together, not have one served and the other delivered 10mins later. I am not sure I will be back. Sad but true.

This really was an amazing experience of authentic Indonesian cuisine, the food was bursting with flavour and intensity. All of the dishes we ordered were so unique in taste my favourite has to be the Beef Rendang, it was just an absolute delight to eat, the meat was so tender. Another thing we loved was the roti Canai which is always a must, it was slightly greasy but never the less it was so crispy and fluffy. The service was really good, very accommodating. All the food served is halal. Will definitely be back here.

Great food and very friendly service - would particularly recommend the salted egg chicken and the sea bass curry!
