The food was decent, but I was surprised to find an obligatory tip/service charge added to the bill. It felt a bit off, especially since the service didn’t stand out. Not sure if I’d return.

We were made to wait 35 mins for our food and were told it’s because of a large deliveroo order they were catering to. When the food did turn up, there was no sign of flavour or quality or freshness. Roti was clearly not fresh and SO oily, chicken in the chicken curry had no flavour, prawn curry was basically lemon curry. When we told the staff how we felt, we were told ‘it’s not our fault that we had a deliveroo order’. I literally cannot think of a single reason id recommend this place..

I understand that Deliveroo is a service that generates a steady stream of income, I agree with that. Now, when I am told 5 star food, exotic tastes and homely feel, and am told step aside for a delivery app, and given gritty food and minimal flavour and told to wait and that it’s not our problem, then I am sorry but I have no reason to return.

Such a find! Was in London for work, and ended up going back here two days in a row. Tiny cosy hole in the wall, with excellent food. I lived in Asia 8 years, travelled a lot in that period, and this was hands down the best Beef Rendang I’ve ever had 🙌 so delicious I did not take a picture, but the Mee Goreng Udang (pictured) I had the next day was also a total treat.

the food were ok, but I had a disappointing experience regarding the service charge. I requested to have the 10% service charge removed, as it is optional according to UK law. One of the waiters insisted that it was compulsory, and it took quite a bit of effort, including showing her the government website, to have it removed. I believe customers should have the right to decide on service charges based on their experience, without feeling pressured. This incident left a negative impression, and I hope the restaurant can provide better training to their staff to avoid such misunderstandings in the future.

Nasi Goreng KPG and Char Kuey Teow with Teh Tarik at Tuk Din Tucked away in a cozy corner of London, Tuk Din offers a slice of Malaysia for those craving authentic flavors, especially for Malaysians living far from home. On my recent visit, my friends and I had the pleasure of indulging in their Nasi Goreng KPG and Char Kuey Teow, both generously served with fresh prawns, alongside a comforting cup of buttery Teh Tarik. The Nasi Goreng KPG was a true delight. Each grain of rice was perfectly fried, slightly crispy yet fluffy, and infused with the rich flavors of spices. The prawns, fresh and succulent, added a wonderful brininess to the dish. It was simply irresistible. Then came the Char Kuey Teow. The flat rice noodles were smoky from the perfect wok hei, stir-fried to just the right texture—soft yet with a bit of bite. Again, the prawns were the star, each one plump and tender, with the flavors of soy, chili, and garlic enveloping the dish. Every mouthful was a harmonious balance of sweet, savory, and a hint of spice. To complete the meal, the Teh Tarik was a showstopper in its own right. Creamy and smooth, the tea had just the right amount of froth, with a subtle buttery finish that left a lingering warmth. It was the perfect companion to the rich, savory dishes, adding a touch of sweetness to the meal. The ambience at Tuk Din is nothing short of homely. The intimate space, adorned with traditional Malaysian décor, makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a kampung kitchen. It’s the kind of place where Malaysians far from home can find solace in familiar flavors. The warmth doesn’t just come from the food, but also from the top-notch customer service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to make sure each customer felt at home. For Malaysians abroad, Tuk Din isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a comforting reminder of home, a place where the taste of Malaysia is as warm and inviting as the service. Whether it’s the perfectly cooked nasi goreng or the smoky char kuey teow, this is a must-visit spot to indulge in delicious, authentic flavors while being embraced by the warmth of home. Well done Tuk Din

But they put the register mee kari as laksa kari, which I find confusing. They only told me that it js the same thing after I asked. Macam gharar tapi okay je. Nice local place very close to Paddington station. The food we tried was very good, good flavours and substantial portions. Some of the supposedly spicy dishes could have been spicier, but presumably, they are catering to local tastes. Service was reactive and friendly but seemingly confused. We were given a different dish from what we ordered, a mistake which they corrected after we flagged it to them. The same thing happened to the table next to us. We also ordered drinks which never arrived. We didn't ask for them as we were ok not to have them, but the drinks were still charged in the bill. Overall, we left sated and happy with what we ate. Some more attention to the service would really elevate this place.

Tukdin is a lovely, traditional-looking Malaysian restaurant 👍, conveniently located quite close to Paddington Station 🚂. I went for lunch 🍽️ and enjoyed a very delicious and flavourful chicken Kari Ayam with aromatic coconut rice Nasi Lemak Kosong, and for good measure a crispy Roti Canai too 🥳. All washed down with a refreshing iced tea Teh Ais with milk 🧋, as it was one of the hottest days in London ever, possibly ☀️. Looking at the dessert choices, I wasn’t sure at first whether to get a dessert or not 🤔. But when I then read the little review 📝 on the dessert menu about the Sagu Gula Melaka, I couldn’t resist - and I really enjoyed it 😁. Tukdin brings a slice of Malaysian culinary tradition to London with an array of authentic dishes that transport you to the coastal villages and bustling markets of Malaysia. During my visit, I sampled the Keropok Lekor and Nasi Goreng Kampung, both of which showcased the rich flavours and distinctive character of Malaysian cuisine. **Keropok Lekor (£9.90)** These traditional fish snacks were a delightful start to the meal. Originating from the coastal villages of Malaysia, the Keropok Lekor had a firm yet tender texture, bursting with the savoury taste of fish. They were served with a sweet and spicy chilli sauce, which complemented the snack perfectly, adding a kick without overwhelming the palate. At £9.90, the portion was generous and well worth the price, providing an authentic taste of Malaysian street food. **Nasi Goreng Kampung (£14.90)** The Nasi Goreng Kampung was a standout dish, epitomising the essence of Malaysian village-style cuisine. This very spicy fried rice was uniquely characterised by its dark brown, caramelised rice, which had a deep, smoky flavour. The spiciness was intense yet balanced, appealing to those who enjoy a bit of heat in their meals. The dish was enriched with eggs, adding richness and texture. Priced at £14.90, it was a hearty and satisfying main course that left a lasting impression. **Overall Experience** Tukdin successfully captures the spirit of Malaysian home cooking, with each dish reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the region. The flavours were bold and authentic, and the presentation was inviting. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the dining experience. Whether you’re familiar with Malaysian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Tukdin offers a genuine and delightful taste journey that’s well worth exploring

Its been over a decade since i last ate here. I feel that the food quality is about the same; its good for something away from the flagpole but nothing to write home about. They dont skimp on the flavors, but portions could be better/improved for what you pay for. There was very little meat in the daging salai masak lemak but lots of bamboo shoots. Seating is very tight. You get bumped every single time the server or guest walks behind your chair if you are seated in the aisle when there are a lot of patrons. It gets very annoying quickly. There was a guest that sat at our table when one of us vacated the seat to go to the bathroom because i guess they wanted our table and was pressuring us to leave. It may have seen like we were done eating or something, but not all of our dishes had even arrived. We were still waiting on the desserts. The servers looked like they did not care and we had to tell her off. Food took a while to get out and they came out sporadically. Drinks came out quick though. Overall, a good place to get a taste of malaysian food while in london but the dining experience is lacking.

Not a place for vegetarians! Only 3 vegetarian options - spring rolls, aubergine and pineapple curry. The aubergine was floating in oil whilst the pineapple was not great. Spring rolls were not great either!

I don't usually write reviews but this place was so lovely I had to !! I got the chicken curry with rice and it was amazing, would definitely recommend giving this place a try and for sure be coming back. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and greeting everyone with a smile (and a Salaam if they saw you were visibly muslim). If I wasn't going back for the food I'd defo be going back for them :)) The place itself is also very muslim friendly. There's a prayer room downstairs (only big enough for one person at a time, and also has a wudhu basin inside too), they don't serve alcohol at all, and the entire menu is halal, with a couple of vegetarian options. The actual dining area is quite small but it does feel really intimate and homey, it wasn't busy when we went (just before 1pm) and it was a really nice vibe/environment. It's a little pricey but that's to be expected in London. It's definitely cheaper and far more authentic than the other Malaysian restaurant down the road though. You know Tukdin is good when Malaysian people choose to regularly dine there and enjoy the food a lot. - Fried Garlic Chicken - so so crispy and full of flavour, was a little tough though but that could just be because I ate it after it sat on the table for a while - 6.5/10 - Chicken Curry with Rice - literal perfection, the curry was so creamy, with the perfect level of spice and the portions were so big. they definitely weren't stingy with the chicken as well as there was so many pieces - 10/10

Yummy food, friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Halal menu and they didn’t serve alcohol which was a plus for us Muslims. We went a group and there were plenty menu options to choose from.

Food is always fresh and tasty. I recommend their Pho soups as well as the grilled beatle leaf beef. Their salads are also fresh and delicious. Last time i went, i was a little bit disappointed with the soft shell crab. It came with 4-5 pieces of crab and SO much fried onion/garlic (i'd say a good few handfulls). The taste of thr crab was good, but the portion not so much. Other than that, you cant fault them. Service and atmosphere are always good.

This restaurant offers flavors that are even more authentically Korean than what you might find in Korea. The depth of flavor, in particular, is something that's hard to come by, even in places like Cheongdam, Gangnam, or Jongno in Seoul. I’m not sure if the locals here truly recognize the authenticity of these flavors, but I was genuinely surprised when I first visited yesterday. It’s amazing to find a place in the heart of London that doesn’t feel like a "Westernized" version of Korean food but actually delivers an even deeper, more authentic Korean taste.

We had a lovely time dining at Bone Daddies. Although we came in half an hour before close, Alisha checked in on us, made sure that we had everything we needed, and did not rush us to finish. I had the Tantanmen and it was absolutely delicious- Bone Daddies is vegetarian-friendly and I would highly recommend on a night out!

Seated quickly and easily, and on a Saturday night too. Slight slip with the order, but error was corrected without complaint and with an apology. We needed some decent soul food and the curry did the trick. Relatively cheap for this part of London too.
