Really can't fault it! Superb food, great service and a lovely dining experience. A lot of the dishes are quite spicy, but all were delicious. Special shout out to the peanut sauce, star of the show :)

First time eating Malaysian food, was amazing.

I have to admit that customer service was excellent.Made a booking a month in advance but Wasn’t able to attend. They were kind, polite and professional. I’ll come back.

Despite my initial high expectations, my recent dining experience at this establishment was profoundly disappointing. The seafood and meat noodles were both underwhelming. The meat was excessively tough, while the noodles were dry and devoid of any discernible flavor. When we politely requested that the meat noodles be removed from our bill, the staff responded in an uncomfortable and unpleasant manner, inquiring if we wanted to have them removed from the total. We had anticipated that they would either decline to charge us or offer us an alternative gesture of goodwill, rather than making us feel uncomfortable about having to make such a request. Consequently, we were left feeling unsatisfied and regretful of the money we had spent. Overall, this experience was highly disappointing, and I will not be returning to this establishment in the future. - [ ]

Satay chicken, roti canai and fried rice were delicious

Absolutely delicious meal. Food was brilliant, very friendly service. Only downside was the price - quite expensive - our meal was £30 per head without alcohol. Portion sizes were pretty good though.

Came here for dinner. Delicious food and generous portions. I didn’t give it 5 stars as the staff wouldn’t leave us alone to chat and eat. They would buzz over every 5-10 minutes to ask if Ethel food is OK, if we would like something else, to collect my friend’s plates when I was still eating— which is technically rude as then I was left eating alone— some tact and training is needed. The place was not full, there were other free tables and it was not late or close to closing, so there was no reason for such tactless persistence.

Las generosas porciones de comida y las diversas opciones de menú que atienden a mis platos favoritos lo convirtieron en un paraíso culinario. Nuestro entrante, pollo satay, fue una clase magistral de sabores, maridado con salsa de maní, pepino, cebolla roja y cubitos de arroz. El postre, Pisang Goreng y helado, fue una conclusión dulce y satisfactoria para nuestra comida. Cada plato fue un testimonio del compromiso del restaurante con la auténtica cocina malaya. Reservar con antelación es muy recomendable, ya que tuvimos la suerte de asegurar una mesa en nuestra primera visita. Estoy deseando volver a esta joya gastronómica en mi próxima visita a Londres.

We returned for a second visit during our London stay, as once was not enough to indulge in the incredible flavours. The staff's warm hospitality and attentiveness made our dining experience truly special. The generous food portions and diverse menu options catering to my favorite dishes made it a culinary haven. Our starter, chicken satay, was a masterclass in flavors, paired with peanut sauce, cucumber, red onion, and rice cubes. The mains – Curry Chicken, Beef Rendang, and Bihun Goreng – were expertly crafted and presented. The dessert, Pisang Goreng and Ice-cream, was a sweet and satisfying conclusion to our meal. Each dish was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authentic Malaysian cuisine. Booking in advance is highly recommended, as we were lucky to secure a table on our first visit. I eagerly look forward to returning to this gastronomic gem on my next London visit.

Qué joyita tan sencilla. El menú ofrecía un montón de opciones, pero no era abrumador. El personal estaba bien informado y nos ayudó con combinaciones interesantes. La comida era excelente y muy bien presentado. Recomiendo encarecidamente y desearíamos haber estado en Londres más tiempo para que pudiéramos haber vuelto. Las anchoas y los cacahuetes de chile deben envasarse y venderse como un excelente aperitivo El roti - excelente con el dahl vegetal. Y la red fue excepcional.

Decided to try some place different for lunch, and let me tell you, AMAZING, the place was so clean that you could eat off the floor (but don't obviously 😉)! I had the beef and rice dish just amazing. The beef was literally falling apart and was very flavoursome. It's 7am at the moment and I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Will ve going back soon.

I picked this restaurant purely based on location, and am very glad I did. From the moment we walked through the door, staff were very attentive, explaining the menu, soliciting our tastes and making recommendations The food was absolutely amazing Certainly one to return to, although I would advise booking, as every seat was taken.

Visited this place on a Saturday for lunch (booked a table just an hour in advance). What caught my eye is despite being a tiny place it was very clean and tidy . The pace at which food was served was excellent. Didn’t have to wait too long for the food at all. The dishes that stood out were the fried chicken wings which was called the Ayam bawang putih and the roti canai with chicken sauce. The nasigoreng was a bit of a let down interms of taste. Overall a decent experience!

One of the best meals i've had in London. Food was perfectly prepared and importantly, absolutely delicious. Fresh house made flat noodles in a mildly spicy sauce filled with prawns, squid, and vegetables.

Lovely food at reasonable prices, authentic Malaysian cuisine. For me, the only downside is that if you sit on the ground floor, the noise of people speaking resonates and it’s a little bit hard to hear, especially when the restaurant is full. Otherwise a great restaurant with lovely dishes

Came for the chicken satay, which were brilliant, like home made Malay food. But blown away by the Mee soup with prawns. Was outstanding, tasty and nutritious!!! And huge portion. Getting a seat can be hit and miss, as have periods of being super busy and then goes quiet. Best to reserve by phone. Service was quick, very friendly pleasant staff. August 2022: Also lovely tea Update September 2024: Chicken satay are still so so awesome. Jasmine tea was lovely too. THE place for Malaysian food in London. The place does get busy in the evening session from 1730 onwards so better to reserve a spot.

Wow, one of the best restaurants! So many tastes! Chicken wings are fantastic, go for the banana desert. Satay is tasty too, also the chicken in milk. Everything was soo tasty

These guys manage to get it right every time. Hadn’t been here in about 5 years. Went back and got the fish curry with aubergine once again - and I still believe it is the best fish curry I’ve ever had. If you can handle spicy food, don’t miss this. Their vegetarian Nasi Goreng Sayam was also fantastic. So was the satay chicken (especially the peanut sauce with it - yum!). If you still have room and like a nice strong cup of (sweet) coffee - get the Kopi with condensed milk. It was almost like a dessert :)

Unprofessional young 3 waitresses. Instead of focusing on customers, the waitresses spent their time chatting amongst themselves, completely ignoring the needs of the patrons. They spent a significant portion of their shift laughing loudly and disrupting the dining environment. Their lack of attentiveness and the constant, loud conversations made a frustrating dining experience. Never will be dining here again.

I went to Satay House for lunch with a friend yesterday. The food was delicious, the service fantastic, and the ambience was lovely. Overall, it is good value for money and I will visit again. I'd recommend Satay House!

As you may see from my other reviews, I travel a lot for business, so am fortunate enough to eat in a lot of very nice restaurants. This small unobtrusive restaurant near to Paddington is now in my top 2 restaurants in London! Really worth the trip out of the centre of London. Ramzi was an amazing host who gave perfect recommendations. I can happily recommend my menu. Satay Ayam Bawang Putih Bee Hoon Goreng Sagu Gula Melaka I recommend to book in advance, as it is very popular.

We had a reservation for 5. Service was very slow and the people who came in after us got served before us. The food was low quality and did not meet our expectations.

We had great food & also 2 bottles of wine and 4 beers between 6 of us. Food and wine were good but when the bill came they had charged us for 3 bottles of wine instead of 2 (and there was a 10% service charge!) If I had not checked my bill, I would have overpaid by about 15%.

We went for a festive family dinner. We shared starters & roti, & each had a main dish. The food was excellent. Staff were friendly. We had 4 beers & 2 bottles of wine between 6 of us, & when the bill came, we had been charged for 3 bottles of wine, & not 2. Obviously, when I pointed this out they “corrected” the bill. Although food was good, I shall not return as I resent what I consider to be opportunistic ripping off of customers.

Literally the best satay in the UK, if not outside Malaysia. All round great service and amazing food!

Restaurant served a delicous food... so you need a reservation to join in here... i like the vibrants, the food, the atmosphere... a family with small kid is can dine like usual here 😬 it served a big portion of food... so better share you food with your friend..., can order 2 meal, and share with 3 person 🤣🤣🤣 but, if you can't finished it... bring it home..... but if you a big eater... have one for yourself 😝😝 but i have 1 main + 1 appertizer + teh tarik + hot water.... end up struggled to finish this big portion.... there is one saying that "Don't order/buy food when you are too hungry"....

Food was very good and well prepared, and price is reasonable. Servers were pleasant and efficient. Atmosphere is calm and enjoyable. Only downsides are tables are quite crammed together (no worse than the average for London) and venue perhaps ever so slightly dated. Would definitely go again. Food definitely worth it.

I come to London 3 or 4 times a year for business. In general, my hotel is near Paddington station. I am really lucky as my favorite restaurant is just at 5 minutes by waking. I recommend Satay House as the food is really good. They cook an amazing Nepalese food. They use fresh ingredients and serve them with delicious spicy sauces. You have a choice of different dishes and I’m sure you will find a tasty one for you. You have to make a reservation as the place is all the time full. Don’t hesitate, you will have a very good time.

Food was good, but we had to wait for almost an hour for our meal. There were 3 tables that were seated after us that were served 20-30 minutes ahead of us. One was a group of 5 and the other were smaller groups. When we politely confronted the server, we were not given the courtesy for straight answers. And then we had to ask a couple of times for our drink orders. We were simply ignored. We came all the way from US on a friend’s recommendation to taste their food, unfortunately we were left very disappointed with the poor service. They even automatically charged us the 10% service after all this.

It is expensive. Poor value for money. Laksa tasted good, BUT only came with 2 prawns and half an egg. Plus a bunch of tofu. Where's the protein?? Our server said that there is supposed to be chicken too. But there was none. She didn't investigate this or apologize. Roti Canai. Very bland sauce with just a few carrots. Insane price considering it's basically just a roti. We asked our server why there was no chicken. She informed us that they assumed we wanted the vegetarian option. She never asked or clarified when we ordered. The chicken satay was very good. Again, it wouldn't have killed them to include more chicken and sauce, considering the price is close to being a main dish. There are superior Malaysian options like Normah's. Better off going there.

Always reliable and excellent - my favourite local

I've been several times before and was always good, not sure what's happened but service is non-existent - we literally had to leave after half an hour trying to order. Such a shame, this was a great little place.

The food was really tasty, although scraping the upper limit of my spice tolerance. The service/staff was great as well. I would recommend coming here for a taste of Malaysian cuisine.

I’m still dreaming about the Kari laksa that I had here. I’ll be back for sure next time I am in London.

This restaurant is very close to Paddington train station. The fried noodles are very good and full of ingredients. The fried chicken legs are also delicious and there is still juice inside.

The food was awesome and tasty. Do not have much of disappointment. Just wish the white rice would be hot and the gorengs be less oily. The service and atmosphere was good.

One of the best Malaysian cuisine I have had. The Laksa was simply delicious so flavour hitting all the right spots . The beef randang was tasty and perfectly spiced . Must visit highly recommended! The staff was friendly and attentive!

Second trip to Satay House in an unassuming back street near the food desert that is Paddington - and it was outstanding as the first. First trip I just had the laksa (best I've had in the UK), this time with my son we had beef rendang, nasi goreng and an amazing roti. Worth the trip across town for the roti alone. Brilliant value and super friendly, kind staff. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, taste and service.

There are many more Malaysian food offerings in London than I expected, but Satay House is easily the best we have tried in more than a year. We recommend the ikan asam pedas, mysore kambing and rendang. The satay (ironically) and chicken curry was a bit too geared for a British palate, and the pajeri terung was disappointing, as we love aubergine. The authentic 'Tandas' sign was heartwarming on a wet London evening, and some cendol or durian desert would also help Satay House get 5 stars.

Food are so fantastic and the staff are very kind. The venue was cozy and good for family.

The main dishes we had were pretty good, though they aren’t necessarily authentic enough but they are tasty for sure. The teh tarik was way too sweet and the ikan bili with the roasted peanuts were too salty.
