Tarka Daal was ok, could have been cooked longer as some lentils were a bit hard. Tandoori Rotis were hard and overcooked. I wouldn't order again from this place.👎🏾

Taj Restaurant serves delicious food with excellent service. I love the Chicken Tikka Biryani and Butter Chicken; both are flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant maintains high hygiene standards, which enhances the dining experience. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Food is not as per the price. Order wasn’t accepted for the longest time but suddenly delivered (maybe app glitch) The restaurant’s was a bit rude on the telephone when I explained him the situation and wanted updates.

they forgot an item on my order and when I phoned them 10 minutes later it is delivered and sorted a really good service and the food is gorgeous just try and see for yourself

lovely curries and naan breads and rice...pity bout the poppadom was burnt to a crisp ..tasted awful surprised they let that leave the shop! apart 9/10 1 less point fir burnt poppadom.

The owner is friendly and open until late, and takeout is available. I had butter chicken curry and rice salad and it was delicious, I recommend it.

Have been ordering here for many years , I had my birthday celebration here recently and even more recently ordered from here for my work Christmas party. Great service, nice and polite. Very good food at a high standard. The butter chicken never disappoints with onion bhaji. Thank you team for amazing food . Eat in experiance is always great here

Incredible food at a great price, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere

This is a really really good local Indian restaurant, probably worth five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but I am extremely particular! Staff are attentive and friendly with a relaxed neighbourhood vibe. Some years ago on only our second visit we were recognised and welcomed immediately. Food is consistently flavoursome and sizzling and when they say spicy - it is! They gauge customers very well. Recommend for a lovely chilled meal. No rush - take your time is the vibe. I’m so glad we were recommended to it, and in turn very happy to recommend on. 😊

It used to be a decent Indian restaurant/take away. What we had yesterday ( I had mango coconut chicken with pilau rice) was extremely poor quality. Rice was sticky and tasteless, mango and coconut sauce bland, grainy and pieces of chicken dry.

Food was generous in portion and was really yummy! I had the prawn biryani with mango and coconut chicken which was really so good! I also ordered a mango lassi which did not disappoint. My partner also enjoyed his chiken tikka balti and pilau rice! Also the garlic naan was really soft and right crispy! The ambient was also so relaxing and the music played just added to a relaxing atmosphere! Also many thanks for the attentive staff :) All in all very good eats!

Finally got around to trying the butter chicken with pilau rice from Taj – and it’s a match made in heaven! The butter chicken is rich and creamy, with tender chunks of chicken that are full of flavor. And the pilau rice? It’s a fluffy bed of goodness with hints of spices and a subtle buttery taste that complements the chicken perfectly. Together, they’re like the dynamic duo of comfort food. For the past few years, I have been placing orders from Taj and have always been pleased with the degree of flavour that each of their meals has! I've been taking friends and family to this restaurant lately, and we've had the most friendly service. The encounter was greatly enhanced by the cheerful, kind, and courteous behaviour of all the servers and waitresses. The food has consistently been delivered on time, hot, and of the highest quality! I would heartily suggest Taj for its delightful cuisine as well as its fun ambience and atmosphere!

I have been to many different Indian restaurants and this one is one the best! Very friendly staff that will provide you with more detailed information on the food if needed. The food is excellent, we had the chicken tikka massala, a very well balanced dish. The cheese naan is also recommended. My friend had prawns with sweet potato, also very good. The mango lassi was also delicious! Nice, clean location with beautiful wallpaper.

Vindaloo was average sorry to say! Not that hot at all and the chicken pieces so chewy and felt very overcooked. Not great this time I’m afraid

We usually frequently visit this restaurant, but on this particular visit, the proprietor, engrossed in an international call on his laptop, occupied a table inside, speaking loudly. When we requested him to turn it off, he insisted on keeping it active until 10pm.Surprisingly, on previous occasions,the normally obliging owner had suggested that business was very slow. He didn’t take into account that him being on his laptop loudly would not be a relaxing evening for customers who have spent the day in the office! Not surprisingly we moved elsewhere.

Food was cold on arrival. Tikka was way too sweet and Mixed grill was dry and tasted strange. We recieved a free poppadom also which arrived as a bag of crumbs.

Ordered food from here through ubereats, they missed something out but quickly came back with the missing items plus extra rice. Food also tastes excellent.

My go to Indian takeaway restaurant. Delicious! Everything was perfect. The only tiny fault was it wasn’t that hot so had to heat it up in the microwave but that wasn’t a problem as the distance between the restaurant and me is quite a journey. Highly recommend.

good food though partially containers not full, Onion Pakora (Onion Bhaji) were only 2 cut in half real cheat right there

Quite good all round, had Tandoori chicken starter which was nice, then King prawn Bhuna, a little hot for a Bhuna but ok all the same. Had cheese Nan with the cheese inside the Nan, not sure about that.

OK it’s at the end of my road but I would travel a long way to eat Taj curry. It’s such a family favourite we HAVE to order a post-holiday takeaway immediately on return. We love their chicken tikka balti and aubergine curries. Attention to detail is excellent as in the naan bread variety and other quality sides that are often afterthoughts in other curry restaurants. Go and enjoy.

Greasy curry. Layer of oil on top and pretty flavourless chicken. Paneer cheese lacking real taste too. Not a nice curry to be honest. Wouldn’t order again from there

Well food was a m a z i n g, but waiter was pretty rude. Had a bad attitude. If you don't like your job, pretty simple, don't do it.

Delicious food and although they forgot one meal, they rectified the situation immediately.

Absolutely amazing food!! Did not know that restaurants like this still existed. I ordered a garlic king prawn and a chicken tikka Jalfrezi with a chicken tikka biryani and garlic naans. The food was fresh and amazingly cooked. And the service was top tier. Definitely a goto restaurant if you live anywhere in London and even if you live far it is 100% worth the travel. I ordered butter chicken which had coconut and it was super sweet. Did not taste like butter chicken at all. The dal was alright so no complaints abt that.

The food was cold, the garlic chilli chicken was not remotely garlic it was far too spicy, the saag aloo tasted of nothing and was just mush, not to mention the garlic rice being normal rice with whole cloves or garlic just dropped in it and a stone cold, chewy, flavourless garlic naan. Really disappointed as last time our food from here was amazing

Review for takeaway orders only. The last two times I have ordered from Taj the chicken has been exceptionally tough and unpleasant to eat. The first time I put it down to bad luck, the second time, months later, confirms that this is a regular occurrence. It is unlikely I will be ordering from them again.
