Went here for dinner with my mate as he recommended this spot and after eating here I too will be recommending it to others. The service was fantastic , the individual took their time to recommend various menu items that suited our level of spice tolerance. The food was amazing , so many different flavours and textures. An absolute joy to eat here.

Worst service ever, Have been there this afternoon along with kids and Family kept waiting at the door for then 5 mins to be seated nobody ever attended.

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and were very pleasantly surprised. Even on Monday it had a healthy amount of customers, which is a good sign! We are vegetarian so we’re happy with the amount of lovely options we had. My personal favourite was the masala dosa - just like one I had in India, followed very closely by the Dahl Makhni, But everything we had was extremely tasty. Very well balanced, nice amount of flavour, and the chilli sauces had the right amount of kick. To top it off the owner was an absolute vibe. Best customer service I’ve had in ages. Really wish I lived closer so I could indulge in this more often.

I’m so glad we went to Papaya because everyone in my group noted the restaurant on their mobiles! I’m always the one who is mocked for choices, but, having been here with my girlfriend of four years I knew it was amazing. This is a superb place to eat; for family and for group outings. The food is out of this world. I would not recommend large drinking groups because the atmosphere is calm and it can be annoying to families with little ones. Be respectful. Have been coming to Papaya for years and it never disappoints. The Beef Columbo and mutton curry are unreal. All the starters and sides are always fresh and delicious. But my favourite are the fish and prawn house curries.

The starters portion could be bigger but that's my only constructive criticism. Apart from that. Really good atmosphere for a quiet dinner - didn't have to raise our voices one bit. The mains were amazing. We got the masala dosai which we've had multiple times but the kottu chicken string hopper was new for us and tasty. The mutton curry was the stand out dish for us. Definitely worth heading to if you're in the area.

Wonderful food. Had the chicken masala, nicely spiced and with a good kick of heat, and the chicken tikka, very tender and seasonings were right on. Try the pudding with the cashews on top, excellent, with a cup of masala tea. Peaceful atmosphere and great service.

Lion beer is a must if you are a regular visitor to Sri Lanka ❤️❤️ food was fab

This was my first experience at a Sri Lankan restaurant and they did not disappoint. We tried quite a few dishes everything came out in a timely manner and taste really good. The drinks were affordably priced. I would definitely eat her again if I was in the area!

Absolutely delicious everything and wonderful vegan options too. We had lots of paratha, dosai, aubergine curry, pilau rice, and chicken jalfrezzi. Fresh lime juice and mango lassis were lovely too. Loved and recommend all. What a lovely gem of a place. Service was friendly and kind and attentive too. We will be regular customers now. Highly recommend!

We found Papaya Restaurant online searching for a place to eat for dinner. We got off the rail and walked for a couple minutes and was able to find the restaurant easily. The staff was very pleasant and assisted with different options m our dining experience. The food was excellent and very filling. If you never tried Indian cuisine this is a place to have your first-time journey with the staffs help. Highly recommended.

I started with the traditional Sri Lankan appetizer, mutton rolls, which were perfectly flaky and filled with a deliciously spiced mutton mixture. For my main course, I had the classic Sri Lankan dish, mutton curry, prawn masala, lemon rice and garlic nan, which was a flavorful combination of aromatic spices. The dish was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of heat to tantalize my taste buds. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make recommendations. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. Great service and food, definitely worth a visit

Unclear Service Charge & Disappointing Food I recently dined at Papaya and was disappointed with a few aspects of my experience. The food I ordered was Biriyani ,Porotta with Beef columb , it was not up to the mark in terms of taste and quantity. Additionally, a service charge was added to my final bill that I wasn't aware of beforehand. While the menu and final bill may have mentioned it, I didn't notice it and wasn't informed by the waitstaff. Transparency regarding service charges would be helpful for future diners. Considering the price point of the food, I would have expected a higher quality overall.

Lovely Sri Lankan meal! I enjoyed the hoppers (very crispy edges with a nice soft center), the fish curry was quite flavorful, and the Pilau rice was a nice addition!

I ordered Beef madras, coconut rice , mango lasi and plain nan. The madras was ok ish 3/5 star Rice was overcooked,dried and smelled like nearly burnt no taste of coconut at all 0/5 Nan was only baked in middle but 2 cm to edge was wasn’t cooked or baked, probably temperature was too high that the thin part got done and the outer not done and if he would have left it longer it would had burnt it. Lasi was fine . I won’t be going back and won’t recommend it either. I cook myself, am not Indian either . Total £29.00 Probably KFC would have been cheaper and tastier.

Came here with some work folks. Was looking for some south Indian eats while visiting from the states. They offered freshly fried papadams to the table at the start which were a crowd pleaser. Started with mini masala dosai, bhaji and veg samosa for the table and they were all well cooked and flavorful. Hoppers were exactly what I was looking for just like my dad use to make. the coconut sambal was very very similar to what I use to get at home in Kerala with a regional variation since this place was Sri Lankan,but I loved it nonetheless. Parrota was legit and dishes like thoran, dhal, Madras chicken & chicken curry, lemon rice and mutton curry were a big hit. Work mates enjoyed their food. Salt lassi hit the spot. Going to try to come here again if I can for a few Hoppers before I fly home.

While exploring London, I stumbled upon an exceptionally pristine Sri Lankan restaurant. The immaculate ambiance immediately caught my eye, so I decided to dine there. I relished a Lion Lager and the exquisite Devil Beef so much that I ordered a second helping. My partner savored the Chicken Thali, and though we wished for more, we were already satiated. The service was impeccable, and the cleanliness unparalleled. This is by far the cleanest Srilankan restaurant I have encountered in London. I will undoubtedly return for another visit.

Thursday evening we just walked in. The restaurant was empty except for two ladies just finishing their meal. We ordered a vada starter, masala dosa and chicken kotu roti. All the dishes were average but under spiced and lacked seasoning. The biggest surprise was the very high food and beverage prices. So for me this was my first and last visit.
