The best restaurants serving American food in Edinburgh and Lothian

Bell's Diner opened in St. Stephen Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh in 1974, the same year my wife and I moved into Stockbridge. They served the best burgers I've ever tasted. And no sweetish American-style buns and slobbery 'mayo'. The wine list starts at £21 a bottle. We now live 20 miles away but travelled in to have our final Bell's meal last week as the restaurant will soon be closing down. So, probably too late now for folks to get a table. Sad news indeed.

We always go to Glasgow city / newton means. which are always fantastic. We stood waiting to be seated for over 5 minutes. When we got seated the waiter wasn’t very polite. When our food came the butcher block the medium steak was over cooked. The chips were re heated they were very dark in colour. The lobster tail didn’t have a lot of meat. Half rack of ribs was great. Very disappointing especially in the city of Edinburgh. Definitely be sticking to Glasgow miller & carter.

Pretty good taste and fair price. I’ve ordered the fried chicken and wings many times and never met any issue.

Got the Black and Blue Burger, was awesome.

Das Restaurant ist aehr modern und schön eingerichtet, Das Essen ist ebenfalls sehr Lecker, die Pommes waren Super und das Filet sehr Zart. Leider lässt der Service ein wenig zu Wünschen übrig und man muss ziemlich lange Warten.

Found this gem just walking down the street exploring the city. It's now one of our must stops every time we visit Edinburgh. Staff is friendly, has a great atmosphere, and has amazing food!

2nd visit here and we’ll definitely go back again. Food cooked to perfection and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Thank you Los Amigos we shall see you again when we’re in Edinburgh next

Best meal I have had in all of 2024! If that was not enough the staff were excellent and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked through the front door. I have never been too fussed by crab but Notos crab dish not only changed my mind but also left me wanting more, a taste sensation.

Absolutely shocking! We turned up at the door and the place was CLOSED! We had a reservation and even on google it told us it was open?!? No calls or emails to tell us anything and they even sent us an email reminding us of our upcoming reservation 2 HOURS BEFORE OUR RESERVATION! absolutely ridiculous and raging

Such a cute out of the city cafe! Found through TikTok due to the amazing food and atmosphere. It didn’t disappoint as the soup was devine with a nice coffee to warm you up on a winters day. Worth the short walk out of the main streets and nice energy in there 😊

The Dean is a great place to go for food and beverages before or after a tour of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange. We had their special house pasta and pizza. Both were very tasty and service was quick and friendly. This is a local place, so prices were very reasonable.

Love this place always go when in town, not busy and is very chilled. Drinks menu is good but could do with some classic cocktails, we are old school!

Comí pollo asado con col roja y calabaza. Una de las mejores comidas que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Mi esposa tenía un plato de pescado que era agradable y una porción generosa. Bonito restaurante del hotel, buen servicio y buena relación calidad-precio. Vino un poco caro, pero en general muy bueno.
