The best restaurants serving American food in Edinburgh and Lothian

Bell's Diner opened in St. Stephen Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh in 1974, the same year my wife and I moved into Stockbridge. They served the best burgers I've ever tasted. And no sweetish American-style buns and slobbery 'mayo'. The wine list starts at £21 a bottle. We now live 20 miles away but travelled in to have our final Bell's meal last week as the restaurant will soon be closing down. So, probably too late now for folks to get a table. Sad news indeed.

Das Steak war super, genau wie es sein soll. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich, aber nicht aufdringlich. Einfach gut!

Absolutely shocking! We turned up at the door and the place was CLOSED! We had a reservation and even on google it told us it was open?!? No calls or emails to tell us anything and they even sent us an email reminding us of our upcoming reservation 2 HOURS BEFORE OUR RESERVATION! absolutely ridiculous and raging

Muy buen café en el montículo entre el casco antiguo y el casco nuevo. Comida café a buen precio y sabrosa - tostadas, sándwiches, sopa, envolturas, etc - con un personal amable. Un verdadero hallazgo.

The Dean is a great place to go for food and beverages before or after a tour of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange. We had their special house pasta and pizza. Both were very tasty and service was quick and friendly. This is a local place, so prices were very reasonable.

I came in yesterday for a quick drink, and was so impressed by the attentiveness and kindness of the server Charlotte. She was so sweet and her recommendations were spot on. We thought she was great! Thought the cocktail was delish and will be back !!!

My husband and I visited Buck's Bar before going to a performance at Usher Hall. It was a busy Friday night during the festive period, but the staff were all very friendly, happy (or at least appeared happy), and helpful. We ordered wings with Buck's bbq sauce, hoisin wings, hash browns, mac n cheese, creamy slaw, and milkshakes. The food was all delicious. Warning: the wings are huge! They certainly do not skimp on portions for any of their dishes. Even the sides are quite large. Another positive: they even provide wet wipes for your hands. They do not provide bibs. 😂 We will definitely visit again.
