The food was exceptional and the waiter was so serviceminded and nice.

We had their steak and cocktail special and we all thought it was a great deal. The only issue we had is that two of us ordered their ribeyes medium rare and they both really, really rare (almost blue). So as not to cause any problems, we didn’t send them back, but they weren’t even close to medium rare. Other than that, the service was great and everything else we ordered was good. I’d be willing to give it another try.

Lovely place to visit if your a steak fan both as an individual or group or that special date. They had some offers on for steak and cocktail which made the visit more cost effective otherwise it can be pricey but people would say you get what you pay for and I do think what I had was good value and cooked well. I've heard lots of great things so was looking forward to the visit and it was great just not somewhere I would go regularly but I'm not a huge steak lover I'm sure for those that are it's great. Drinks are pricey so added to the cost of a meal it could be high for groups or individuals our group spent £240 that was for 7 people mostly having the steak and cocktail drink deal which starts from £22.50 depending what steak and added extras you choose the cocktails were nice but very small for the price again £10+ you want something that will last a bit longer. The staff were awesome and made us very welcome and added in all the extra requests that people had and this was great. I would recommend to anyone liking steak to go and try and enjoy the atmosphere and food on offer

Absolutely fantastic. I can't fault anything. The service was very friendly. When I made the online reservation, I requested a table by the window, and we got it. The food was amazing. Both the steak platter and the burgers were amazing.

Ribeye was thin and over cooked. Hamburger was thin no grill flavor and over cooked.

We arrived on the night of May 15th to celebrate my birthday. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The food was delicious, especially the steak sauce.It had a crispy texture unlike anything we've tried before, even in London. We were also really impressed with the birthday plate.It was fantastic and made the celebration even more special.

Me and my husband had a lovely experience at Miller and Carter Edinburgh. Our server Susan was lovely, professional, kind and calm. She had a great way with customers, making us feel like we deserved to have a great experience. The food was fantastic. We don’t have a chance to go out to dinner very often and it was fantastic to have such a good experience. Will definitely come again if we return to your amazing city.

Feels cheap and they did not know what medium rare was which was a bit disappointing. I thought the server was a bit rude when informed some of the meats in our table were not according to what we asked for. I was very surprised when I sent back my medium rare steak which first arrived as a medium/well done, as it came back as a blue….

Went for lunch . Steak was well over cooked ! Think it was left on the pass for a while . Disappointing to be honest . The young lady who was serving us seemed like she didn't want to work there . So I just ate and didn't say say anything about the poorly cooked food . My partner ordered a mocktail and they gave her a full blown alcohol cocktail by mistake !! (Not good if your driving a car )

Absolutely amazing place, visit every year for our anniversary and cannot fault it. Fantastic food, great drinks, lovely staff and amazing atmosphere. Recommend to everyone I know!

Our server Catalin was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The steak was cooked to perfection. Exceptional service made an already great dinner even better.

I won’t be returning to this steakhouse. Despite the high prices that set high expectations, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The fillet mignon was incredibly tough, like old boots. They offered to remove it from the bill or make a replacement, but I declined because the dinner was ruined anyway and my stomach refused to eat anything else.

I would never recommend going here. We came our last night in Edinburgh and I ended up getting food poisoning. I was sick the entire train ride down to london. And for over 24 hours after my visit there. I missed pre planned activities that I paid for including a football match as I was so ill. Waiting to hear back from their customer service.

We were lucky to get a last-minute cancellation for a birthday dinner. Everything was delicious!

Not a patch on the Glasgow city centre branch, just doesn't have the wow factor. Service was good and food was fine. My lettuce wedge was drenched in dressing and I think I got the reheats in terms of fries as they were much darker/crispier/saltier than my husband's. Fillet steak was good, and cooked to my liking. Returned the following year as had a voucher to use, carpet needs replaced and the chairs are needing new seat pads. The table next to us arrived after us and was served before us. We waited exactly one hour before any food arrived. When it eventually appeared it was good, but not great. My sirloin was medium/well instead of medium/rare.

We had the set menu, the price on the set menu was better than the a la carte. I picked camembert cheese dip, it was good. The salad was very fresh, the steak we had was dry and not as good. The sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream was very sweet.

Been tonight for a meal with my good friend and although food and service were all excellent it went sour when we got the bill and twice we were told we had to leave as they needed the table and the bill was brought and laid on table with the waiter armed with the card machine we split bill down the middle and got the option for a tip which we both said no the was meant to be £63.35 each but once paid the amount that came of both our accounts was £68.35 meaning that an extra £5.00 was taken from us without our knowledge and was nowhere to be seen on the bill. Wanted to say something but the place was very busy did not want to make a scene

The place is very nice, the welcome very good. The waitress gave me great advice. And the food was just delicious. Very good meat, perfectly cooked and there was a totally delicious onion loaf! Small downside on the slightly average fries. And dessert? Tremendous ! In short, a must-do restaurant in Esimbourg if you like meat!

Lovely place for everyone to enjoy the tasty food. And even to buy extra at the counter that's if you'll need it. I doubt that

We were allowed to have the 3 course Sunday set menu, even though it was Easter Sunday. Very much appreciated. Only thing that let the food down, could do with more sauce on the prawn cocktail. Delicious fillet steak with peppercorn sauce and managed to fit in a really tasty sticky toffee pudding and custard. Five stars 🌟 for excellent customer service from Michael B. My wife and I visited this Miller & Carter on Saturday 5th April. The server Michael was fantastic with understanding my allergies and double checking things in the kitchen without being asked to. My wife and I really enjoyed our meal and this restaurant had a nice and calm atmosphere.

>45 minutes from order to steak at 8:30pm when the restaurant wasn’t over busy. Meat is very good quality. The filet was recommended as rare by the restaurant, but came over medium. The ribeye was ordered medium rare and was also overcooked. As it had already taken so long to get the steaks and they were edible, we simply ate them.

The only drawback: it was really cold at our table. Otherwise the advice was top. The wine selection is excellent. And the food was a poem. We had salad, beef fillet and rib eye with lobster. Cooked perfectly, beautifully prepared and hot. You could also see how thoroughly every table was cleaned. Lots of staff and more than reasonable price-performance ratio.

Amazing experience! I had a table booked for the hawksmoor for my wife's birthday. She really wanted the Sunday roast, but by the time we arrived they said they were not doing it anymore, unfortunately nothing on the menu or website says about this. Since I still wanted to make my wife's birthday better, I end up in the miller & carter begging for a table, since we came from Belfast to spend her birthday in Edinburgh I really wanted to try to provide a Sunday roast to her. The person that received us, was so welcoming and sorted us a table. Service was top notch, food was amazing, we got the sharing Sunday roast, the chicken was one of the best that I ate in a restaurant. Sunday roast with ribeye was perfect, and all the sides complement the proteins. Burrata for starter was amazing. To all the team, thank you so much, I will be back to Belfast and not forget.

Dined here on Mother’s Day. Wrong starter was brought out for 2 of our table and took about 10 mins to bring the correct one. Would have maybe thought one might have been taken off the bill as a good will but nothing was. Food was nice, but have had better steaks in local restaurants. The carpet is a bit worn too. Was really looking forward to it but left a little disappointed. The lettuce wedge and Camembert mash were outstanding tho.

Lovely welcome and we were shown to a table in a nice, quiet corner as I requested when booking online. Exemplary service from Callum throughout - welcoming, friendly, efficient and attentive but not too 'hovering'. Hubby had the ribs and I the lamb rump - both perfect. Delicious desserts - NY cheesecake and lemon tart. Never felt rushed. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening. If only we lived nearer! Thank you.

chose Miller & Carter Edinburgh City after a quick google search for best steak houses in Edinburgh to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends. I was not disappointed the service from Marek ( apogees if I spelled the wrong ) was first class, I was even given a special treat with my desert :O) All of our steaks were cook to perfection and would highly recommend to anyone who loves steak.

We had such a wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary here today. Silvia looked after us beautifully—even though she was clearly very busy, she was so kind and attentive. Our steak initially came out well done instead of medium, but Silvia handled it perfectly, quickly arranging a fresh order and even offering a little discount, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere made our special day feel even more memorable. Huge thanks to Silvia and the team—we’ll definitely be back!

Our waiter was very helpful guiding us through the menu . I had a fillet my partner had a sirloin steaks both were cooked to perfection every thing on plate was amazing. Then we had the sharing sweet WOW chocolate brick with caramel toffee inside with assorted fruit was amazing will be back soon

From the first contact they made you feel welcome, the bar staff brought our drinks to our table while we waited. Once shown our table the delightful Kateryna helped us work through the menu, the food was amazing and very tasty the steak cooked to perfection, The dessert was the tastiest lemon tart i have ever had. You have to come here and taste for yourself.

Had a lovely meal here on Sat 28th March. Food was lovely steaks cooked just as requested. Our server Kateryna was very polite and helpful.

We looked forward to our visit to M&C Edinburgh having visited the Glasgow restaurant which was excellent . I’m afraid to say this bust did not live up to our Glasgow one. The service was good apart from the order being taken. The ribeye steak was not like we’d had anywhere else, flat and over done, the fries were cold. We both ordered the same meal, we got fries and chunky, the steaks came medium, as recommended , mine was well done. We didn’t enjoy our visit as it was very noisy and the sub standard food. We couldn’t be bothered to complain , it had been a long day. We had a steak dinner at Cornhill castle a few days later, again ribeye. It was excellent . We won’t be back to the Edinburgh M&C or any other branch.

The experience was what I come to expect from M&C. First visit to Edinburgh so stuck to what we know best on our first night and was not disappointed. Good food and drink menu at a price to suit those who can't stretch to some of the up market restaurants in the city, complemented with excellent service. Will pay a return visit when next in the city.

The lunch menu was good value and had a good range of choices, including for Vegetarians like me. My friend and I were served by Simon who was polite and attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent. We had steak which was cooked to perfection. Had a chilli lettuce type side which is from the choices you can make. It was absolutely gorgeous. My first visit to Miller & Carter and I absolutely loved it. The food was cooked to perfection and was just beautiful. The service from Syzmon was great, probably the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Will certainly be back.

First visit to Miller & Carter and my first time trying Calamari—really enjoyed it. Crispy coating, chewy inside, and the dipping sauce paired perfectly. For my main, I went with the fillet steak (rare) and chunky chips with peppercorn sauce; steak was spot-on, though the chips felt slightly overcooked but still tasty. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, which hit the spot. Washed everything down with two Coronas and some water. Tip: I saved some money off the bill using a cashback app—just download JamDoughnut and use my code “ZMEV” to get started. Definitely worth it!
