We were sat quickly by our host on arrival and our server, David, was fantastic!! He made our night so special and couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was excellent as well but what really shone in this little gem of a restaurant was by far the staff. Would 100% recommend and come here again

3 reasons why I think I deserve a free meal and a free side: 1. They almost laughed at my face when I ordered a “posh bmb burger” and I assumed the “bmb” was for “bomb”. She looked at me shocked and asked me twice, as if there was 10 burgers named “posh” in the menu. 2. After we had to almost beg for the bill, we saw that they included in the price an “OPT service charge” of £3. And once again, we guessed wrong, “OPT” is not for “optional”. 3. We asked to move to another table because where they placed us at first felt like we were seated at a bumper car attraction of a theme park. The burgers were REALLY really good. I was not pleased with the service.

We actually had a reservation at a different restaurant but passed here on the way and cancelled as it looked so good! Oops! Very tasty burgers, lovely soft bread. The chilli cheese tots were amazing! Would also recommend the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. Great service and reasonably priced.

Bread Meats Bread absolutely delivers on every front — this place is a must-visit for burger lovers. The menu is packed with mouthwatering options, from juicy classics to creative, over-the-top combinations that somehow always hit the mark. The “Black and Blue” was a personal favorite — stacked high, packed with flavor, and perfectly cooked. The sides are just as impressive: the sweet potato fries are dangerously addictive, and the poutine is a delicious nod to Canada that shouldn’t be missed. Service is fast, friendly, and efficient, even when the place is buzzing with energy. With generous portions, bold flavors, and great value for money. Five stars all the way.

Super tasty burgers, had them several times! Gluten free options are available. The staff was very attentive and confirmed that even the fries were prepared in a safe manner.

My wife and I went to get burgers-the server misunderstood one of the meals we wanted and brought us the incorrect burger. We agreed to a reorder. HOWEVER, he informed the manager and within 2 mins the manager came to our table, 1) apologized for the mistake, 2) gave us the incorrect burger, and informed us we’d only be charged for one meal. Despite the order being incorrect, it was delicious and we essentially had three meals and paid for one. We will be back!

My sister and I were recently talking about the best food we ate on our 2 week trip to Scotland in 2022. Truly a country full of amazing restaurants Makars, the riverbothy, fuaran bar, the oyster shed, Vittoria on the bridge, to name some of them. After discussing the best my sister says "well I think we'll both agree on what the worst restaurant was" without a doubt bread meat bread was the worst. We decided to make reservations based upon the fact this restaurant has a 4.5 for reviews. Upon arriving we were taken to our table and given menus. We waited 5-10 minutes before a waiter came to the table for our drink/appetizer order. About 15 minutes went by and another waiter brought the poutine appetizer. We asked that waiter if he could get our drink order as well since the first waiter must have forgotten. He ended up grabbing our water and mixed drinks. The poutine was cold and bland. Our sandwiches came out 5-6 minutes by waiter #3. They were luke warm and below average flavor wise. We finished eating and the check was dropped off by waiter #1. We planned to pay with a debit card. We waited and waited and waited and the waiter was no where to be found. We asked another waiter (#2) if he could find our waiter so we could pay. Just as I thought things couldnt get worse the power went out. Our waiter shows up 10 minutes later and says they can't take cards since there's no power. We didn't have cash with us. The waiter said "there's an ATM a few blocks away" I've never dinned and dashed before but was seriously considering it. But my sister talked me out of it. I walked to the ATM (which still had power) returned to the restaurant paid the bill and left no tip. This was overall my worst dinning experience probably in my lifetime. Food was cold, over priced and bland. Service was dreadful. The only good thing was they forgot to charge for the poutine and drinks.

I’ve eaten here plenty of times, the best burger place in Edinburgh in my opinion. Quality of the meat and food in general is amazing, and prices are great for that level. Plus the staff in Lothian Road BMB are fantastic, incredibly friendly and accommodating. Brilliant experience recently for a family members birthday, they were excellent with a member of our party’s dietary requirements, and brought out a desert with a candle for the birthday occasion. Our server was fantastic and the food was just SO GOOD.

American family here visiting. This place is phenomenal! Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend this place. The pulled pork melt and the Marky Mark were exceptional!

Classic Bread Meats Bread. It's become an Iconic Scottish brand at this point. I feel like I'm reviewing a McDonald's, like, you know what you get with these guys. That said, it's not a McDonald's. Bread Meats Bread has class and the ingredients feel high quality by comparison. Only thing I've never had at other outlets was the BBQ Chicken Bites which were complimented nicely by the garlic mayo or whatever it was. Would recommend.

I got a to go order so I can’t speak to service and atmosphere. But the food was disappointing, I got a cheeseburger with an extra patty (a bit pricey at an additional £5.00). The patties are dry which kind of ruined the whole burger. It wasn’t inedible just highly disappointing especially considering the total £11.90 plus the extra £5.00 for the additional patty. It does not look like the juicy photo online. It was not juicy just dry and tasted of sadness 😂 I’ll try tried and true five guys next time for a juicy burger.

Food was alright, albeit overpriced. But "optional" 10% service charge was added to the bill for a party of two. Not by accident - it's standard practice for them. Really sneaky behaviour and just ensures no repeat custom. Just put the price of everything up 10% instead because that's effectively what you're charging. £54 for 2 burgers, 1 loaded fries, 1 small milkshake, 1 soft drink.

Diner style- good selection of burgers, subs, poutine and vegan options. I opted for the Angry vegan burger and some tater tots, whilst others had a chicken blt sub and black and blue burger. The server checked if anyone had dietary requirements before ordering. Good portions sizes, friendly staff and nice food.Service charge was added to the bill- the server did say it could be taken off if we weren’t happy though but all good. 👍🏼

So really a place that doesn’t need another review, but awesome place for vegetarian and vegan. Judge fan of the “Angry Vegan” burger! Chips are great!

Great burger place. We just went in and ordered take out, brilliant fries and even better that they had vegan options too. The vegan really enjoyed the burger and poutine. Would go back again when in the area. Even though we had takeout the vibe was excellent 👌

YOU HAVE TO ASK TO REMOVE GRATUITY/TIP Having heard good things about bread meats bread I was disappointed with the experience. Giving it was early Saturday evening we were seated quickly and the food didn't take too long to come, the staff were friendly enough but that's where the positives end. We paid sit down restaurant prices for chip shop quality... the burgers were dissapointing and lacking any sort of seasoning or any real flavour, the poutine was made with frozen pre cut fries you can get from any takeaway in the city and again seasoned poorly. For the price we paid I was expecting to have at least a 5/10 food experience and I'd struggle to give it a 3/10. The music blaring so loud you can't hear across a small table and the borderline dangerously slippy floor brings the score down also. The way in which I was socially engineered into leaving a tip without any option on the payment portal to remove it was shady and left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'd actually go out of my way to disparage people from even entertaining dining here.

Food was some of the best I've eaten, absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and fast service all in all a lovely place to eat.

If I was a chef here I’d be nothing but ashamed of my work, this was the disgusting cold slop that just arrived at my door as the so called pastrami sandwich, honestly go look at the picture they use to sell it and then they provide this disgusting muck. Honestly to the guys that cooked this give up the chef life isn’t for you, if you can’t throw together a sandwich then you need to reevaluate.

Was shocked that I spent 15 quid on a burger and it didn't come with salad or chips. I wouldn't have been too bothered if it was one of the best burgers I ever had but it was a very average burger. The had the order wrong twice with the kids meals, and to top it all off a forced 10% tip was put on our order. Whoever is running the place is greedy, that burger should have been no more than a tenner and included chips.

Now I've tried a lot of burgers....and I mean a lot. And this place easily makes it into the top 3. Such a great place, we went twice in 3 days. The lunch menu is great value for money. The service was great and we loved the music in there. If we went back to Edinburgh, we'd certainly go back!

Unfortunately, I have to give 3 starts to Bread Meats Bread. They opt you in for a 10% service charge. I do not agree with tipping culture, service charges, etc. If I feel that my service was exemplary, I would contribute myself without being forced in to it. It should be opt in, not opt out. Food is fantastic.

Excellent burgers! We visited here for the lunch deal (brilliant value, especially for central Edinburgh) and thoroughly enjoyed. We both had beef burgers (cheese and bacon and the blue cheese), one with fries and one with tater tots. The food came in good time and the quality was excellent. My husband has tried many burgers and he said that this is up there with one of the best he's ever had! Service was friendly, fun vibe, great playlist.. recommend for a quick, tasty and great value meal.

Brilliant place with excellent food! We ordered a couple of burgers and the buffalo chicken poutine and it did not disappoint! Great for allergen sufferers too, as they have a full allergen menu. I recommend the Marky Mark burger, decadent and gorgeous!

Lovely quality, slight burnt taste to bacon could have been negated with a bit more burger sauce . Tater Tots perfect 🙌🏼

The food here was delicious and they have a separate Gluten Free menu with loads to choose from. We went for lunch there were Burgers, hot dogs, fries, poutine, Panini, toasties ect. Their mocktails are lovely, a good choice of beers. The staff were great.

Eaten here a few times over past few months. Always incredible! I went myself tonight after work last minute close to closing kitchen(worst thing possible to do I know) and David the server was very accommodating and made sure all my allergies were taken care of and that could happily eat in plenty time. Fantastic service, amazing food and great music as always. Thank you to everyone at Lothian Road.

Sadly, this is my first negative review—definitely not recommended! As someone mentioned below, paying over £15 for a single burger, you’d expect a proper, decent-sized meal. I paid nearly £40 for two burgers and a bottle of fizzy juice—absolutely not worth it!

Weighty incredibly attentive staff. Good quality and specializes in burgers and sandwiches and you can do that perfectly. Ambience is ok as an over 50 you feel younger again :-).

I had a great experience at BMB, Lothian Road,Edinburgh. I haven't been before and booked for food after an afternoon concert at The Usher Hall, literally across the road. Due to the concert over-running and an encore, I was a few minutes late for my reservation, but it was no problem. They have locally brewed Cold Town Beer on the menu - I had a pint of the Baltic. To eat, I had the bacon cheeseburger with a side of chips. The food arrived quickly and the burger was clearly freshly grilled. I'm not usually a fan of brioche buns for burgers, but this one looked & tasted good. The chips are on the menu as "chips" - not fries! - and were "proper", tasty chips. The small portion was plenty, as I wasn't sharing. I rounded-off my meal with vanilla ice cream & caramel sauce. The place has a "diner" feel, with a lively atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. I'd firmly recommend this restaurant and I'll be looking for opportunities to visit again.

Espantoso. Fuimos por la hamburguesa más querida que tenían. No tenía lechuga, ni tomate ni mayo. Las tres pequeñas rodajas de pepinillo estaban de lado. Sus bollos de hamburguesa del supermercado estaban apilados fuera de los baños. Estas hamburguesas eran de £ 16. ¡80 cada uno! Qué desperdicio de dinero, debería haber ido a McDonald's. NO DESPERDICIE SU DINERO.

Normal burgers for the price you pay, they also charge you for the potatoes separately and the sauces of which they put two small cubes that cost 2 pounds. Nothing out of this world to end up paying 48 pounds for 2 hamburgers and some fries with Coca Cola

Great food! Amazing selection for those who are gluten, dairy, and/or egg free!! I was able to get a burger with a GF bun and vegan cheese as well as poutine with GF gravy and vegan mozzarella! If I lived nearby, I would visit at least once a week 😊

Left a note asking for the mustard to be left off both hot dogs, both hotdogs arrived covered in yellow mustard. Place came reccomended but have been left a bit deflated to be honest. Reciept attached to our order even had the note :-(

Busy restaurant but tables turned around quickly enough. Big portions and very filling but tasty food in general. Buffalo chicken poutine was tasty but on the heavy side, a lot of spicy sauce you almost can’t taste the gravy after a while. Chips were a bit floppy, missed some crispy ones.

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The place had a foul smell of rotten meat, and the dish I ordered from the Christmas menu tasted like old, spoiled meat. But that wasn’t the worst part. Last night, I ended up with food poisoning and had to call an ambulance. It’s worth noting that I’ve tried their branch in Silverburn, Glasgow before, and the quality there was average. However, this branch was absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it at all!

Came tonight on Monday 16th December. 4 front of house members of staff on. Was seated promptly. Thats the positives. Negatives. Waited ages for same waitress to come back and ask if we wanted refreshments. (why not ask as we were seated what can I get you to drink?) Ambiance. Background music of back to back Christmas music. Decor Dated. Surrounded by cases of brioche buns in the restaurant. (there were other tables available. We were taken to these) Burgers I got the marky mark. £16.40 Claimed to be with pulled pork. Pulled brisket accompied with crispy fried onions. (i love crf) There was no pulled pork. There was no crispy fried onions. The brisket was full of sinue and inedible. Pickles were three very thinly sliced crinkle pickles out of a jar. I was excited to have Gochujang mayo. It works so well with puoled pork. Unfortunately my burger was bereft of it. Gochujang mayo was non existent. I had to ask another server for extra as ours neglected to do a table check on out cuisine. God bless his demeanour as asking as a paying customer where the mayo was on my burger i was told it was £1.50 for extra. My burger had a pathetic amount of it on!!!!!! I proclaimed i am not paying for extra considering so little was on my bun. Burger patties. Were tasty enough. All be it overcooked for a thin patty. Cheese very limited but a slice is a slice. Times are hard for business to operated and this place is the epitome of barely operating. £16.40 is only for the burger. you must pay extra if you want carbs. £3.50 extra for thin crusted chips. Ranged from this to £7 for bacon fries. £7 for a pint of italian beer. Overall Experience was that of nothing but Christmas music blaring in the background. Surrounded by baskets of brioche buns. By staff empliyed who had lost the will to live. No wonder this place is on its arse. Over £50 for two burgers and pints. Brioche buns are cheap My Gochujang mayo was like nothing I've ever experienced before It was watered down mayo, chilli powder and smoked paprika. (you could tast it) Bread meats bread when it first opened took over Edinburgh by storm. Its out lasted byron. Only due to its affiliation with online deliver service. To summerise BMB for me has lost its appeal. Lost its way and clinging on to its reputation in the online community only. an online delivery take away with a poorly run restaurant service attached to it. Purely basing this on looking at how many online drivers came in to to collect. Amazingly being seated next to the kitchen entrance surrounded by over 100 brioche buns. We won't ever be back. I doubt this place will be here next year. Terrible

Fancied a burger while visiting Edinburgh and found the perfect restaurant for it! Served by Robert who was absolutely brilliant and a delight. The burgers and fries were top notch, the price was very fair and I would recommend it to everyone who has a love for burgers! Menu is extensive and varied too!
