Great cake and coffee. Yes , I think it’s Ice cream is best in Edinburgh. My friend tested their special mince pork noodle , amazing price and delicious!

Cute little cafe serving delicious breakfast and brunch items. Quite a few veggie options. I am a huge chocolate fan, yummiest chocolate shake that's the correct amount of sweet. A variety of freshly baked cakes available.

This is an excellent little cafe with friendly polite service. The waffles are freshly cooked, not the usual pre-cooked heated up from frozen usually served in the UK.

Without a shadow of a doubt Yawn cafe is a gem! The owner, Jane, is so welcoming, with a congenial bright smile, a genuinely light spirit and a gentle manner. She is obviously and quite rightfully proud of her little "bistro" taking true pleasure in what she does and providing the kind of hospitality I would expect from a close friend. Its the kind of place where you can sit and relax without feeling that you will be "chased out" after an hour, or as soon as you finish drinking your cuppa! The coffee is smooth, comes in a large cup rather and there are vegan milks are on available. Brunch and lunch menus include the usual offerings, ie eggs cooked to choice/wraps/paninis/soup/full scottish breakfast/vegan alternatives/smoked salmon etc. Plenty of healthy alternatives with the exception perhaps being a full 8" waffle with choice of sweet or savoury toppings. And the chef is as friendly and passionate about serving her customers as the owner. Excellent value for money - not at all pricey compared to other Morningside places - unpretentious and all in all an absolute "must" if youare looking for a relaxing break int heheart of morningside.

Called in for brunch with my daughter who was drawn by the promise of waffles. Excellent service and quality of food. Will definitely be back soon!

Very typical of all the cafes in this part of Edinburgh but the difference is the pancakes and waffles. Very popular with locals who appreciate the quick service.

Un café realmente bueno en Yawn Cafe, quizás el mejor café que he tomado en Edimburgo y he estado aquí por más de tres meses. ¡Tienes que visitar este pintoresco y pequeño café si estás en Morningside! Mi esposa pidió gofres que estaban artísticamente decorados con fruta de temporada y pedí un desayuno escocés que fue un golpe. Nos vamos pronto, ¡pero creo que tendremos que elegir otro blanco plano antes de irnos!

Yawn is a tiny place with a cosy atmosphere and a simple but delicious menu, perfect for a relaxed brunch.The breakfast is very well done, the quality of the bread is great and the coffee is delicious. It is impossible don't leave the plate empty!!!

Morningside Road está llena de cafeterías, bares y restaurantes, por lo que debes ser bueno para seguir adelante y sobrevivir. Bueno, esta fue nuestra primera visita a Yawn, y pensamos que fue genial. Nos recibió calurosamente una señora sonriente que fue servicial y atenta en todo momento. Pedimos cafés y bollos de desayuno que se servían rápidamente y caliente! Todo estaba delicioso, el café artesanal estaba lleno de sabor, y los panecillos eran muy sabrosos y abundantemente llenos. Los precios también eran muy razonables. Esta fue una experiencia excelente, y la recomiendo encarecidamente. No podemos esperar para volver.

Visited on a couple of occasions for a breakfast bacon/square sausage roll. Excellent value excellent friendly service! Great value for money!! It’s small and it’s busy but well worth the visit!!

I have not been to this small cafe (about eight tables) in Morningside. The service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the Scottish breakfast. It was well presented, grease free and very tasty. Their menu is quite extensive for a cafe this size.

En esta ocasión, 3 mesas que llegaron en 20 minutos después de que no nos servían el desayuno delante de mí. Cuando la mesa de tercera sirvieron con su comida, me quejé y salimos. Me dijo que era un error. Una hora de mi día fue perdido. Pasaré mi dinero en otra parte.

4 of us had a variety of breakfasts. All delicious!! Waffles out of this world! Best scrambled egg ever tasted!! Staff lovely and nothing too much bother.

Nice wee place serving all you could want for a lazy breakfast. Full Scottish, veggie, waffles, pancakes etc. Very nice friendly chap behind the counter and nice waitress. Read paper and watch the world go by. Worth a visit.

Yo estaba recientemente con mi hijo bebé. No estoy a dormir mucho (lo siento ser un cliché) y tenían dificultades para efectuar mi pedido en forma coherente, pero el hombre encantador detrás del mostrador me hizo sentir muy bienvenido y no apresurado. I had an hour break so found this place in Morningside, very clean inside , free wifi , staff were friendly and efficient . Had a lovely hot chocolate but unfortunately the scone let my experience down, I was asked if I wanted it heated which I did but don't know if it was the microwave or some other fast heat that ruined it but I couldn't spread the jam or butter on because it just kept crumbling into tiny bits , my plate was literally a plate of breadcrumbs . Will return again but steer clear of the scones and maybe try the waffles !

We come here every week or so, my wife. Baby daughter and I, and that sums it up really, it's so good and consistent why go anywhere else? So we go every week or so when we fancy a breakfast treat out. Great service, comfortable furnishings and very nice food. Thank you.

I have eaten here several times, and have always opted for the waffles. They are so delicious. Lots of options on the menu too. Service is always spot on and staff always polite. A great place to eat.

So we'd had a rough day with our five month old and to be frank, had a need to eat our feelings.Easily parked nearby we arrived and were immediately greeted and offered a table, making space for our pram and our waitress couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome.A quick check of the menu left us with a conflict, big fat Scottish breakfast or yawns well reputed waffles?! Yawn solves this easily, you can have a Scottish breakfast WITH waffles!! Oh heck to the yes!!!After a short wait our plates brimming with feel good fry up classics and sweet waffles arrived and an even shorter time later disappeared into our satisfied, and now suitably relaxed selves. All the while relaxing swing jazz classics were playing unobtrusively in the background. Both members of staff were chatty and friendly. We left after a 90 minute stay that put the world back on an even keel and took a little cake for later (equally excellent).For my mind there is no better breakfast location in Morningside. I say this knowing that it may mean that this snug location might become harder to get a table at, but they're worth it.Thank you yawn, not a scream for coffee but a jubilant yell of satisfaction.

A delighful find which we came upon quite by accident while walking through Morningside. A little treasure: lovely, well-presented food served up by the nicest, friendliest young women. Unfortunatley, we were just "passing through" but I would recommend this place highly.

When we're in Morningside we try and go to Yawn for breakfast/brunch. This place has a lovely French vibe, the coffee is great and the food is perfect. The waffles with smoked salmon and scrambled egg are to die for! And so are pancakes. And the breakfast.Everything we have tried here tasted really good and service is always very friendly too.

Yawn is my favorite place in Morningside for brunch, great coffee and cake. Friendly service always with a smile, relaxing atmosphere and absolutely scrumptious food.

My wife and youngest son found this gem in late spring 2015. The quality of the food is excellent and cooked to perfection by the owner Jane and her small complement of staff. I can quite honestly say that I can count on the fingers of one hand when we haven't visited at least once a week since then. Jane is obviously committed to providing quality food with service to match and at a very reasonable price.

This is a small cosy, friendly little coffee-shop with an obviously familiaar clientel. The service quite quick and the menu is modest but suitably extensive.

The staff are very welcoming and professional. Only stopped for coffee but will recommend and be back for food from the varied menu. Pastries and cakes etc looked fresh and appealing.

After a tough couple of days of meetings I stopped here for breakfast. I had really well made scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and avocado with a flat white. All were made with attention to detail. It has been a long time since I have had eggs out that are better than my own at home! Thank you for making my morning smile.

Do you know how difficult it is to find a place in Morningside that still serves breakfast after 12 noon on a Saturday? Neither did we, in search of breakfast last Saturday morning. Then we came across this wee cafe and it's simplicity (and breakfast menu) drew us in. My partner had Scottish breakfast with freshly made waffles, I had home made pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and we were both delighted. The food is very very tasty, service is friendly and the cafe is small, quiet and cozy. I can't wait to return.
