Buck’s Bar in Edinburgh, City of

Buck’s Bar did not disappoint! After doing a lot of research prior to our trip, Buck’s Bar was the top of our list for where we wanted to eat during our visit and thank goodness we did! Service: We went to Buck’s on our first evening in Edinburgh, after an early start travelling and a day of walking the city, we were SO excited for dinner in the evening. Getting to the restaurant, we were devastated to find out we were at the wrong Buck’s and that our reservation was for the chains second restaurant in the city. However, our amazing host, Dillon was quick to find us a table and also handled contacting the other restaurant to let them know we would not be turning up. Atmosphere: As soon as you arrive at Buck’s you are consumed by the amazing and electric atmosphere. The benefit of the restaurants relatively small size really shines here. It is a complete treat to all your senses, from the loud and cool music playing, smelling all of the INCREDIBLE food that is being served to the tables around you, walls and ceilings filled with so much art and design I’m pretty sure you could spot something new even after your tenth visit! Food: Wow, wow, WOW! Hands down the best food we have had for a very long time. Whilst deciding what to eat and waiting for our food we spent most of our time looking at the food being served on the surrounding tables and just drooling! We over-ordered, how could you not with such an amazing menu. Even when you are full, you can’t stop eating because the taste is just too good to refuse. We both got the Buck Mac burger (or named something similar) along with mac n cheese and pakoras sides. Every mouthful was amazing and savoured long after we had finished eating. Sadly, we did not have space for a pudding but the milkshakes being served around us looked divine - next visit for sure! Overall, in a word, EPIC! Dillon and the rest of the team’s level of attentiveness and friendliness felt like you were at a friends house for dinner rather than a restaurant chain. The atmosphere was so fun and reminiscent of my student days (though with money to enjoy this epic food!). And the food, words cannot describe the level of quality and flavour every item holds. You simply have to experience it yourself. We cannot wait to go back the next time be visit the city.

Visited herefor the first time after being at a show at the Usher Hall next to it. Glad we Had booked a table as was very busy and wouldn't have been able to walk in ? Service was very good and quick and there was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant Food was lovely. Overall a great experience and hopefully be back soon.

This was our first time in the bar and we thought we would give it a try after seeing it on YouTube. It's not a big place, quite small but big enough to seat a good few tables. Our server was Rory who was very friendly and attentive. Nice choice of drinks. I opted for the Nashville chicken which I didn't read the menu correctly, this was fillets in a sauce. I prefer wings ( which I purchased the next day in the other Bucks bar) I can't remember what my wife ordered. A nicely done out place with good atmosphere.

Had an amazing burger and chips on the lunchtime deal which included a large soft drink. Great value and really tasty. The chicken was tender, the sauce was delicious and the chips were cooked to perfection. I was really impressed and will be back!

Ordered a delivery. Waited an hour and a half then one meal was missing! Not exactly cheap so would expect orders to be checked and correct when leaving the establishment! Plenty of other places to order from with more reliable service! After phoning to complain, told to claim refund through Uber Eats, then realized sauces were actually missing also. Thought they were in delivered two boxes. Rubbish customer service. Hangry customer 🙃.

Lovely food. Great drinks . Friendly and fun service. hot sauce is very hot, be warned! Very chilled but nice style of service. Thanks all.

Fabulous fried chicken. The food is absolutely amazing, my only comment was it was full of large groups of men and we went for an early tea, my 11 yr old was a bit out of place.

Ninja burger. Sweet cheeezuss and roasted garlic and parmesan wings And sweet potato fries Out of this world with taste and banging flavours The sweet potato fries were just perfectly crunchy and taste with a huge portion The wings were awesome cause I love garlic and cheese the chicken just came clean from the bone just right The server Stevie knew what to say when I asked a few questions also had the banter too which makes all the difference Top marks Bucks bar We will be back and we will bring friends 😛😋🤪😋😋

I have been here 3 times and it's a fantastic place for food and drinks. Be prepared to undo a few buttons after eating there. Portions a large so if you are going for drinks afterwards then you should be safe from a hangover. The staff are friendly and attentive. My only concern is the size of the place. It is cosy but space is lacking, but as I say that is my only concern. If you do decide to go remember to book ahead. Don't just assume that you will get a table especially in the evening. Aftrenoons might be different. But better being safe rather than sorry. Word of warning. Be careful of the sauces they have on hand. Some are like a thermal lance. Unless you are brave enough. You have been warned.

I was away for a couple of days in Edinburgh and Buck's Bar popped up on my Instagram feed and it turned out one of their 2 restaurants wasn't far from our hotel so we popped in after a long day of sightseeing. It was very busy but luckily there was one table for two we managed to get as a walk in, it's clearly popular and several people were turned away after we got seated. I'm very glad we did. The food was delicious, their chicken is so juicy and tasty and all the sides were great. The portions are big and it satisfied our hunger after a lot of walking. Great choice of drinks to both soft and alcoholic. The staff could not have been nicer, so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was fun and everyone looked to be having a good time. I highly recommend for a casual chicken treat.

Fantastic value for money..portions are very generous...skinny fries are anorexic so order chunkys...Kai was bright,positive,fresh and ON THE BALL...Chilled and cool place..AMEN AFFIRMATIVE DT 😎🇺🇸

This place is amazing. Best chicken burger me and my 5 friends have ever tasted. The choice is great, value for money. The cocktails and craft beer was lovely. The staff were great and it’s a cool relaxed setting. Best place I’ve been to in a long time. Definitely coming back. If you haven’t been you really need to try it! Well done Bucks bar👍

Would highly recommend Bucks Bar Hanover street from start to finish it was amazing. Big portions, tasty food and staff were super friendly!. I have a nut allergy and they were very accommodating to this and our meals were fantastic. Me and my husband will defiantly be back!

Went to the one buck bar in hangover street Absolutely brilliant service and the food couldn't complain at all Absolutely fantastic and lovely Only complaint I have is the sheer size of the place Absolutely tiny very awkward space I am a bigger guy and trying tk squeeze out of tables that close is a very awkward experience But all in all very good restaurant

We really love this place. The food is straightforward, principally a choice of buttermilk chicken and wings, but portions are substantial and high quality. We tend to get food to share as we can’t finish all of it. The food is great, but what really sets the restaurant apart is the service. Everyone here is really friendly and engaging, and if there’s any issue it’s resolved promptly with a smile. It’s worth clarifying that this is not really a bar, though there’s an excellent choice of drinks. You’re definitely coming for food, and the tables are turned promptly, without you feeling much of a time pressure. Highly recommended.

First time here visiting Edinburgh as we are from Newcastle and seen this quirky underground level bar which seemed right up our street with “rock n roll” next to the name of the bar. As we walked in the manager was so welcoming and we immediately felt very relaxed and could just take in the quirks and enjoy the music as we ordered our food by the lovely Lauren. I believe Lauren may have been new to this restaurant and she was absolutely brilliant and very polite helpful and cheerful. Thank you both so much! The portions are HUGE and the chicken is the best chicken burgers both of us have ever had. The drinks selection is brilliant. Would 100% recommend!!

Excellent place to eat! The atmosphere is an epic vibe - the food was delicious. Melt off the bone chicken wings,unbelievable waffles & mac n cheese. The salt & pepper chicken was yummy aswell. Wonderful service from Jaime & we thought Lauren provided excellent attentive service.
