Beautiful restaurant. Very attentive staff. Lovely variety on the menu and fantastic flavors. We tried the culkin skinks and baba ganoush with spiced buckwheat & truffle and parmesan fries with a chardonnay and sauvingnon blanc. Lovely atmosphere. Extremely clean. Very affordable.

Beau restaurant sur le Royal Mile qui propose une cuisine internationale avec des plats typiques écossais revisités. Le service est efficace et sympathique. La salle de restaurant située en demi sous sol est accueillante et chaleureuse. Pas donné mais on en a pour son argent. Je recommande.

We all ordered full Scottish breakfasts which we all thought were pretty good! There were multiple other food options we were tempted by. Service was friendly. No real complaints from any of us, and would recommend it as a nice place for breakfast.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast great choice other than the norm. We had the Garden breakfast which was avocado and eggs which were cooked to perfection .. staff were pleasant in particular Reshma . Definitely very enjoyable and would return

What really gives a poor first impression is being asked rudely “Have you booked” across the empty restaurant! Really wish people didn’t do this. Stopped for a lunch - everywhere else was totally fully booked in the area and this delightfully looking place was empty - wonder why? It looked smart but was chilly and the staff were not welcoming. Our starter of Cullen skink looked the part but was bland. We had mains of fish and chips and halloumi burger, both fine. The children’s menu was okay too. Overall a nice lunch but wouldn’t be rushing back.

Lovely place had balmoral burger tasted great but difficult to eat as fell apart staff attentive till you had been served then concentrated on turning other tables around didnt ask how meal was or offer drinks etc hoover blocking toilet entrance went back an hour later was still there

Clean, tidy place. Service pleasant but formal. Smoked salmon bowl was very good; steak sandwich was a door stop of bread with a few slivers of steak. At the prices charged, not good to leave hungry. Hence 3/5.

We were part of a group who submitted our food order two days in advance. The restaurant was ready for us and the service was very good. The food was basically good, but not outstanding. I had a chicken something that was ok, but some ordered a "pot pie" that was very good. The atmosphere was relatively quiet and pleasant.

Ótimo lugar. Ficamos na parte externa, como se fosse um estratégico camarote da High Street para se apreciar o sol poente. Fomos muito bem atendidos por um gentil garçom francês (não me recordo o seu nome), que foi extremamente atencioso e paciente. A experiência foi maravilhosa e o preço das bebidas e comidas não foi caro, valor justo. Como estava frio, o restaurante nos oferece cobertores/mantas para nos aquecermos. Adoramos.

This restaurant is right on the Royal Mile with outdoor seating. They were okay with a customer taking a table and only ordering a soft drink. But that wasn't us, we had the garden breakfast and Nduja and egg hash bowl. Both were to notch. I would absolutely east here again.

Great for last-minute walk-ins on the Royal Mall in Edinburgh. Beautifully appointed restaurant, with great service. They had dry aged steak, and great dishes which were all very tasty - highly recommend them.

Grausam! Der wohl schlechteste Service den wir in Schottland bisher erlebt haben. Unfreundlich, unaufmerksam, langsam. Das benutzte Geschirr der Leute vor uns stand 20 Min. auf dem Tisch- unsere Bestellung wurde vergessen. Wir haben das Restaurant verlassen.

Last minute stumble into this place & hit the spot. We had the burger which was lovely & a side each which were both huge! Unfortunately my cauliflower cheese was not great (cauliflower overcooked/burnt) Maybe could have more choice in desserts, I had the gingerbread which was delicious but not sure why they needed to put cold orange & banana segments with it? Great service though & reasonable prices

On our first night in Edinburgh we were walking the Royal Mile & looking for somewhere for dinner & happened across Lucken Booths. We had an absolutely lovely evening with great food excellent service & reasonable prices. Worth a visit

We visited Edinburgh this month and quite by accident found Lucken Booths( opposite the cathedral). The food was superb, the service excellent and all reasonably priced. Perfect location and relaxing decor.
