The best restaurants serving American food in South West

Although locals we have not eaten at the Holcombe (Inn) for some time Our mistake! Lunch today was really special. My wife fell in love with her starter: Vale of camelot & leek crème brülée. Such an unusual dish but absolutely delicious ( yes I did sneak a taste). My mussels in Thai coconut broth were also excellent, especially with home baked rolls (extra). My wife's main course was hake with dauphinoise potatoes and garden spinach. She also sneaked some of my creamy cauliflower au gratin. My roast sirloin was so tender and of course served with crispy roast potatoes and carrot , Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce. The perfect Sunday roast. Not only was the food delightful but so were the waitresses. Our chef and owner, Alan, helpfully came out of the kitchen to explain the recipe for the leek crème brûlée. The SA Chenin Blanc was a splendid accompaniment for the fish and my Otter Ale bright and tasty with the beef. No we did not have room for dessert unfortunately. We should not have left it so long between visits and will seek to remedy that. Even on a wet February day it was welcoming with its log fire but in the Summer is perfectly situated in spacious gardens surrounded by fields. Plenty of parking too.

We go to this restaurant every Wednesday. The food is good, always hot and presented well, never had a bad meal yet. Julie our waitress is lovely and friendly and always looks after us well. A nice relaxing experience in a clean environment. Hope this restaurant never closes as we would really miss going there.

I came here just after Xmas for 5 days with my partner and our two year old twins. We visited Ranchos on NYE. Anyone with two year olds knows the anxiety that comes with eating out so we really wanted somewhere relaxed, fun and delicious. We got jackpot. The food was great, the margaritas the best I’ve had but what makes this place is the staff. Everyone was wonderful but Wickey (sorry if I spelt that wrong) and Jasmine were another level. Nothing was too much effort, anxiety was non existent and just a huge congrats to Ranchos for having these two wonderful ladies. I would employ them in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of the man who served us, but he was incredible. He was the only member of staff working out front. He was ridiculously friendly, helpful, and obliging... couldn't do enough for us. The food itself was very tasty and great value for money. It had lots of variety of toppings for freshly made pancakes and waffles. As well as an all you can eat cooked breakfast buffet. Great for all. Even though the food was nice, it would be a fantastic customer experience that would make me return.

First time at Boo Koos today. A large party in for a birthday. Fantastic food and Rowenna looked after us all amazingly. She was polite, friendly and very efficient. The food was amazing. Definitely going back again.

Terrible place, full of totally legitimate and respectable men and women man making the slot machines all night

Lovely evening spent at Hub Box in Taunton. Despite being a large table we were greeted very quickly and the food came out in great time. Everything was delicious, with empty plates all-round! A very large party had arrived upstairs, which can sometimes mean a change to the service you receive, but staff continued to be attentive when checking on our food, asking about extra drinks, desserts and paying the bill. Shout out to the chefs who were clearly very busy this evening but didn’t let their high standards drop 🤩👏👏

Great place to eat. Even our little one enjoys it here. Shame it's closed down. As the service and food was always great here.

1st visit thought we would try somewhere different for birthday celebrations. All the food was very nice and nice and hot. Very good value and attentive service!! Would definitely visit again

Assuming this is the right place as there have been a few changes, but….. really glad we stopped to eat here. Slightly away from the melée but food excellent, service excellent and play list, well, also excellent.

The best scones ever. Well priced cream tea. Scones fresh, warm too, lovely clotted cream and jam. Waitress really nice and welcoming.

Nos encanta American Diners, pero como nuestro viaje de larga distancia está llegando a su fin e íbamos de compras decidimos visitar Mollies después de verlo en un artículo. El lugar es muy bueno y replica a los comensales modernos, habíamos reservado así que nuestra mesa estaba lista para nosotros. La cabina era amplia, cómoda y limpia. El camarero estaba bien, pero tenía una voz muy suave que en un ambiente ruidoso era un poco desafiante. Pedimos bebidas que llegaron bastante pronto, pero fueron entregadas por otra persona que no pudo confirmar que el café era como pedimos, un solo trago negro, resultó ser demasiado fuerte para mi esposa y se necesitaron dos solicitudes para obtener un poco de agua caliente para ello. Pedimos nuestras comidas principales, mi esposa no podía tener lo que quería, ya que nos dijeron que estaba pre-preparado y tenía mayonesa, no es alérgica a él, pero simplemente no le gusta, por lo que eligió los tiernos de pollo. Estos llegaron sin nada con ellos solo las licitaciones, que estaban bien pero muy claras. Me dijeron que mi elección de vientre de cerdo no estaba disponible, en realidad, un sábado a la hora del almuerzo? Así que pedí un hot dog de queso con papas fritas. Estaba bien, pero el plato estaba un poco desnudo, sólo una fina rebanada de pepinillo. Las otras dos comidas se veían bien y estaban como ordenadas, así que no hay quejas, aunque las hamburguesas son un poco pequeñas. Pedimos tres postres, un helado expreso, un gofre y un merengue de limón. El helado llegó sin el café Kailua (£ 3 ) que se había pedido y mi gofre llegó sin el jarabe de arce, tuvimos que llamar a alguien para que los trajera. En general estaba bien, pero le faltaba el estilo y la atención al detalle que hubiera esperado, no debería tener que seguir recordando al personal lo que ha pedido. Los precios son un poco altos.
