Visited there yesterday evening for a few drinks, a meal, and the live music. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection, and tasted fantastic. The place was buzzing and friendly, even though the staff were busy. They still were attentive to your needs, and made sure you had everything you required.

We took friends of ours out to The Chapel at Cotford St Luke. A restaurant converted from an old church. It's an amazing settling, with great atmosphere. You can pop in for coffee, or light bites, or have a full meal from a great menu. I've been there a few times now, and I must get around to trying their home-made pizzas - they smell delicious. The staff are always friendly and helpful with suggestions. We arrived early, and we got a nice nice seat upstairs in the dining area. Giving us great views of the activity below. Of the 4 of us, 2 had the Quantock Ale Battered Cod Fillet (Served with Chunky Chips, freshly crushed Peas, Tartar Sauce & Lemon), 1 had the Mixed Bean & Pepper Bake (Smoky Tomato Five Bean Mix, Orange, Red & Yellow Peppers topped with Mozzarella & served with Sweet Potato fries) and John had Beef Chilli (Served with a choice of Rice, Chunky chips or Skinny fries and Garlic Ciabatta, grated Cheese & Sour cream) which he said was perfectly spiced. Steaks, Burgers, Fish, Chilli .. there's loads to choose from. We were too full for coffee or pudding, but maybe next time. Well worth a visit if you're in the Taunton, Bridgwater, Minehead area. Cotford St Luke is just east of Bishop's Lydeard. Easy to find, and plenty of parking. You'll not be disappointed, I assure you.

First time in this restaurant, recommended by a friend. I’ve got mixed opinions about this place although the place sells lovely food, specially the pizzas. I can say as a mother i won’t be coming to this restaurant again or suggesting to others with kids. Not kid friendly. We’ve had a member of staff shouting at our kids. Dirty looks and pointing fingers, also not to mention they came up and said people were complaining about our kids. As if the people getting drunk and laughing downstairs wasn’t as loud… and dogs barking non stop downstairs as well. My group of friends with their families felt very rushed to leave the restaurant by the members of staff. Upstairs sitting area is very cold, even with the heating on we were freezing.

We went to this restaurant with friends families for Christmas meal, was expecting much more better service but wasn't. First thing what we felt was very cold inside it's good that we was wearing Christmas jumper's just that was warming up us with the friends. Later we received our preorder meniu my son had chicken and fries. Fries was absolutely hard to eat and very oily so he didn't eat a all. Later our kids saw Christmas tree with lots of soft toys on it and they was running buy this tree later (one parent always was with the kids) lady came and shouted on the kids about that (was 3kids (2 years and 3 years old) After when we finished eating ladies came and said to us that our kids are too loud but this is kids and this restaurant should now this special because we reserved place where we mention 3 kids. That was not nice and rough. There was loud dog on first floor but we didn't make any mention about this because was fine for us. Only 2 good things on this place was pizzas they was nice and style of restaurant but not personnel. Girls who was saying this about our kids don't have any clue that kida are not sitting buy the table like adults. For sure we are not recommending this for families! And people who don't like cold.

I recently dined at The Chapel and was truly impressed! As a Christian, I appreciate the unique concept of enjoying good food in a former house of worship. The atmosphere is serene and quiet, especially in the evening, making it a lovely spot to unwind. The food was delicious—fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming environment that added to the overall experience. I appreciate that they maintain a respectful vibe, steering clear of the drunken atmosphere that can sometimes accompany dining out. I highly recommend The Chapel for anyone looking for a peaceful dining experience with great food. It's a special place that honors its past while providing a fantastic space for good conversation and relaxation!

Has potential but disappointed. Visited for Sunday lunch. Venue is beautiful, so unique and well decorated. No one greeted us when entering / there wasn’t a member of waiting staff visible so we went to the bar, ordered drinks and were then told we couldn’t add the drinks to our lunch tab and had to pay separately. We were informed we needed to see a different member of staff about our table reservation. Had to wait for this different member of staff to appear, and when they did they didn’t know the computer password so couldn’t book us in right away. We were provided with a bottle of tap water on request, but no glasses so had to use the wine glasses on the table. Once sat, our table ordered a full fat and a diet coke. The waitress arrived with them and announced she did not know which was which and left us to figure it out. When presented with our roast dinners, we were told the kitchen had forgotten the crackling and stuffing, and so that would come separately / later. Unfortunately, the crackling was cold. The roast dinner was nice but the parsnips were almost raw and no-one could cut into them so they were left. Portion sizes were good and lots of gravy provided. After our roast dinner plates were cleared, we were not visited a further time. This meant we were not offered further drinks or a look at the dessert menu which was disappointing. We waited for over 30 minutes, possibly even 45, before deciding to walk downstairs to the till and request the bill. Would love to visit again as the venue was so beautiful but will maybe stick to cake and a drink next time.

Sunday lunch is a big no unfortunately. It's a shame such a beautiful place has such bad food on a Sunday.... If you do a good Sunday lunch any establishment will be busy on the weekend and it worried me when I walked in that it was very quiet. Beef was nice but cold. Portion sizes are on the small side and didn't look much different to the child's portion... not great for a £14 roast. But what ruined it the most was the gravy. It was like pouring water over your dinner! No taste and was so watery it just seeped through the food onto the plate like a swimming pool. Walk ins were asking for a table (of which there was plenty) and staff would have to ask the kitchen if they could accommodate. I think management need to re-evaluate things as it was the worst roast I have ever paid for. We will unfortunately not be returning. Shame...

5 of us went for Sunday lunch , as a vegan there was only one choice - the lentil bake. This had been cremated and tasted burnt therefore inedible. I was offered another portion but the service was so slow I probably wouldn’t have got it til everyone else was finished ! ( it wasn’t busy either!) my husband had the fish and chips and said his fish was overcooked. There were absolutely no desserts that were marked suitable for vegans and the waitress didn’t point any out. Then at the end someone had put several desserts on our bill that we hadn’t had but the girl realised this before giving it to me then took ages to sort it out. She apologised for our bad experience and then asked if I could have had fish!!!!!! Words fail me! Needless to say I won’t be back!

We had pre-ordered our food (as they requested) and it took 40 minutes to arrive, and then one of the meals took another 7 minutes to arrive. Two of the pizzas were burnt on one side and barely cooked on the other. The chicken burger was overcooked. The other meals were, I'm told, ok. To top it off, the staff member taking our drinks order didn't know the difference between larger and ale, I consider this a lack of training issues.

I just wanted to write a short review of The Chapel at Cotford-St-Luke. My wife (Bev) and I took my mother (Betty) to The Chapel, to celebrate her 98th birthday. We took her for afternoon tea on the 13th March, in the coffee shop part of The Chapel. On arrival we noted that there was a card for my mum and some ‘birthday bunting’ on the wall. This was a nice touch! Mum was then pampered by the staff (they were superb) there and this was also really appreciated. The afternoon tea arrived and it was a sumptuous feast…. The sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea and Prosecco were excellent: both in quality and value for money. The whole experience was superb and my mum loved it. We shall be back soon…. If you want a quintessential English culinary experience of the highest class and you live in the South West, then please do pop in to The Chapel: you will not be disappointed!

My wife and I came here for a child free tea last week. The building is stunning inside, it did seem family friendly and wheelchair accessible downstairs which is great if we want to visit with the children another time. On this occasion we came out for a “grown up” tea, which was great as this pub offers the best of both worlds as there was an upstairs which seemed more aimed at adults where you could choose a table to look down over the balcony and admire the wonderful building or one more tucked away if you wanted. The food was great, and the waitress was really helpful and not at all over baring. Everything seems so expensive these days but we took a look at the online menu before deciding to go and when we compared it to other pubs in the area and it was one of the best value menus price wise and the portion sizes were generous which was great. I was pleased to feel full up! It was the first pub we’ve been to which had Guinness zero on tap. Being the driver and used to trying zero beers and largers which often don’t taste the same, I was impressed that I actually couldn’t taste the difference with Guinness zero. We will look forward to visiting again in the future. Thankyou for a pleasant couple of hours.

Klimat został podrasowany, witraże, sklepienie (drewniane) i sam układ dają miejscu niesamowitego uroku. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere. New owner Tracey is very kind indeed. Complete turnaround from the previous owner. The village finally has its pub/community back. New lunch menu is brilliant & the pizza is delicious!! Thankyou for bringing a family friendly vibe back to the pub, Thankyou

The first time I’ve ever been in there since lockdown went up to the bar. Nobody acknowledged that I was even there seen that there was two staff behind the bar. They were more interested in talking to friends that had come into the pub so I just turned around and walked out.

Lovely place and friendly staff. Stopped in for a drink and staff were really kind and offered to serve ploughman's even though they were actually only serving roast Sunday lunch. Huge portions and good variety. Menu looks great and will definitely be back for pizza night. Thank you

It is fabulous to see The Chapel doing so well Under new management- lovely atmosphere and incredibly friendly. The Italian pizzas are absolutely delicious and enjoyed by the whole family. Nice to have a smaller child’s pizza option.

The Chapel is interesting, unusual and a very relaxing atmospheric place with fantastic service with a full menu of meals. We chose to experience one of their authentic pizzas and watched their Italian chef prepare and cooked them in the large pizza oven. The taste...

Had a date night, it was perfect. The staff were so friendly but the best thing was, the PIZZA!! The atmosphere was nice and chilled, the building is beautiful inside. We will definitely be going back again.

Went for Mother’s Day roast. I had pork and partner had chicken both were delicious. They also did a child’s roast which was great! Excellent homemade desserts (tirimisu and brownie) and good atmosphere. Definitely recommended and will be returning.

One of my favourites restaurants in Somerset. You are literally having dinner inside a chapel. We had 2 pizzas and they were really good. Italian chef. Dough was super good.

Great restaurant original in a chapel. The owner was really nice and explained us all the story of it. The pizzas were incredible. They have an Italian chef and really made good dinner for us. The chapel is cozy and the place really interesting.

We booked a table for four at that time it said full menu available. When we got there and ordered drinks the waitress then said that it was only pizza and nothing else from the other menu. A great shame as nice looking place but evening spoiled for lack of information. Should clearly say certain nights is pizza only when you book online.

Very popular smoke house and justifiably so. Huge portions. We had the sharers option for two, and there was enough for four. Sadly, neither of us could finish the meal because there was so much food. It was delicious. All of it. We'll definitely be going back.

Part of my order was wrong. Chips all over the bag. Burger presentation awful. Most of the cheese out of the burger and stuck to the paper, the patty was half out of the bun and cold!
