Bare Grills in Taunton Deane

Very popular smoke house and justifiably so. Huge portions. We had the sharers option for two, and there was enough for four. Sadly, neither of us could finish the meal because there was so much food. It was delicious. All of it. We'll definitely be going back.

The portion sizes are MASSIVE, with a nice juicy meet that met my standards. Living in Taunton, my standards were relatively Low, but coming here was certainly an experience. They Taper the seasoning well to fit my taste, so flavour just doesn’t fade. Waitress was excellent (Think called Keira) and overall an exceptional experience

Fancied a proper mac and cheese for my 30th birthday to end the night and figured this was the place to get it, couldn't be more wrong. Pasta was plain and badly seasoned, cheese sauce was thin and tasted like it was out of a jar. Chips and a small piece of bread with this for 14 pounds is abysmal. Arrived cold, haven't had good tasting food from this scam of a restaurant in many years. Don't keep them in business.

We love this place ❤️ from my parents in there 60s down to my 7 year old and everyone in between. We again came here for my son's birthday, 16 this year! The food was great and the service was fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely, perfectly lit and music was fab. From chef to servers you were fantastic tonight! Thank you xx

10/10 service and food. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Order was taken swiftly and there was no long wait time for food. Staff even checked with me to make sure my steak was cooked how I like. Food was to die for! Ribs, burnt ends, steak, pulled pork all delicious and authentic bbq tasting. Pricing is so good and portions are perfect! Didn’t get the names of the waitresses but if you worked on the 07/12/24 thank you so much for your service. We will be making this a regular spot and telling all our friends and family!

Embarrassed to say that some years into their tenure in Taunton, this evening was my first visit to Bare Grills. My daughter needed cheering up so, on the spur of the moment, as we walked past, we went in and were not disappointed. Friendly and attentive service and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had - cooked to medium-rare perfection with the excellent Xmas dirty fries, all beautifully presented. Loved it!

Staff was lovely and friendly couldn't fault them at all was very smiley and accommodating checking we had everything we needed. The food on the other hand very basic brand food I don't think you could call it grilled bbq food it was like the food at a premier inn very basic to say the least if had many burnt ends before the burnt ends at bare grills was hard overcooked flavourless chews The ribs tasted like the was microwaved the burger were OK over all the food was underachieving and I would not be returning the price point for quality was shocking so many more nice bbq places out there with outstanding flavour and better price point bare grills is not one of then

First time here yesterday. All completely amazing and we were both stuffed from the food at lunchtime - we didn't even eat dinner before bed!!

This was my second visit. My wife and I enjoyed our time at bare grills. Good service good food at a very reasonable price. Will be going back again.

Wow where do I start! An incredible barbecue type dinner. We had the combo for one and and the Bare Grill burger. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted incredible. Highly recommend the ribs and the milkshakes were amazing too :)

Have my hands grown or was the burger smaller. A McDonalds double quarter pounder with cheese @£6.19 is all I can eat. Bare Grills filthy pig @£14.00 and I am still hungry. The burger did not resemble the advertisement photo.

We have been a few times previously this time wasn’t the best cold food service wasn’t as good as previous I work for the NFS where we go round and inspect restaurants and hotels I must say was a poor experience cold chicken cold ribs rock hard halloumi fries

Out of date allergy sheets, breaded chicken burger with bones still attached and grisly burnt ends, fries are listed as Dairy free but cooked in the same oil as dairy products and so contaminated. Staff singularly unconcerned te allergies. Not a a great meal really, no one asked how the meal was until we managed to complain. Promises were made that some items would be removed from the bill but it was too little too late. Plus the toilet was dirty! I can’t really recommend this place

Cannot recommend this place high enough. The food is delicious and our server Lizzie is absolutely top notch. We will definitely be back when we're in Taunton again.

Came in on a Saturday evening without a booking and they luckily managed to get us a table. Weren't waiting too long on the food which was delicious. Burgers cooked to perfection. Milkshakes super tasty too. I look forward to returning.

Booked in advance ahead of the Quo concert. Glad I did because even at 5pm they had to turn people away. Been to numerous such restaurants across the UK but this one is amongst the best. Food was reasonably priced - especially for the portion size you end up with. And it tasted amazing. The burger I ordered was sublime. Service was speedy, friendly and excellent. This place is a little gem. So if you happen to find yourself in town - highly recommend.

I got the bare grill combo and all off it was dry struggling to swallow it I didn't enjoy it one bit

A proper carnivore dinner I loved it!! Ordered a rare rump steak that was introduced briefly to the heat to perfection. The only downside was dinner envy seeing what other diners had ordered so another trip it is !!!

Surprisingly good smokehouse in the centre of Taunton. Stopped off on the way through and was not disappointed. Burgers, pulled pork and wings were a real treat. It was a bit quiet around late lunch but I am sure it livens up in the evening. Give it a go! Isabella was a star ⭐

Brilliant burgers, really tasty combos. The gob stopper was awesome, as was the Jack Daniel’s honey hard milkshake was divine. Served Lucy was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will defintely visit again.

Put in for a reservation yesterday evening for my partners birthday. We were seated in the middle of everyone, which was very awkward. Music was loud and the atmosphere just wasn't very nice. We did ask to move however was told a bigger party had reservations on the other seats so we couldn't. We left as it just wasn't a nice atmosphere, too noisy for what we expected. I'm sure the food was probably nice, but we didn't stick around. Went elsewhere, on the way back we did look in to see if the other seats were taken, which they weren't so found that upsetting but oh well.

Great experiance, nice staff and the burgers were really good. Haloomi fries not the best by far I have tried but everything else was very enjoyable. Next time I am in Taunton will be testing the brisket.

Food was actually delish apart from the Brisket burnt ends which were very dry. I had steak which was cooked beautifully and we tried a selection of sides which was all good. Staff were nice too. Be warned if you are heavily pregnant or a bigger person, you will struggle to get into the booths because the tables dont move to allow you in and out. The seats are not very comfy. Also - you are time limited to 1 he 45 mins before they want you to be gone. We were going to book a family birthday there, but feel it would be rushed - especially if people take time to choose and then want dessert after. Also there is no parking so you have to find a car park some. Would definitely get take away from them but would not eat in again.

I tried the Kinder Bueno shake, which was delightful, and the pulled pork with dirty fries - an absolute winner. The food was mouthwatering and left me thoroughly satisfied. To top it off, the staff were brilliant, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious comfort food and great service!

Stumbled across this place a few weeks ago. Great staff who seem to have good memory for faces. Food good, no rush to make you get out at the end. Good music played.

Great food all freshly cooked while you wait,, Great selection of Drinks,big meals so make sure you got lot's of room in your belly couldn't eat a pudding but worth every penny Delicious food

Really impressive. Nice decor, really friendly and competent staff. Food was amazing (if you like American-style, meat-focused meals) but would advise that the sharer platters are HUGE. As a group with three big, hungry blokes, we'd have easily managed the sharer for two rather than the three person portion we ordered.

I'd say one of the best BBQ restaurants I've been in, in the South West. The vibe was cheerful and chill, waiting staff had great energy (Jonnie & Charelle). And the smoked Buffalo wings are incredible 🙌

I absolutely love this place..Only sad thing about it is that they stopped doing their Korean Wings. Honestly the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. So wish you'd put them back on the menu even if by 'advance request only' or something I would order them every week!!!

Really enjoyed the food we brought. All really well cooked and staff really pleasant.

Honestly, it was a horrible experience. The burgers were super tiny compared to the photos and no fries, then we ordered a combo with meat and it was very very dry, then very poorly attended, we wanted to order a round of drinks and we waited like 40 minutes, the waiters are not attentive, it seems like they work with their eyes closed. Perhaps the guy was a bit nicer, but the woman was putting too much pressure. Without a doubt, we're never coming back in our lives.

My recent dining experience at Baregrills Restaurant was not just disappointing; it was a distressing ordeal that I feel compelled to share. The service and food quality were so abysmal that they seemed to mock the very concept of hospitality. Firstly, the service was a disorganized mess. Staff members were not just inattentive but seemed utterly oblivious to the presence of customers. Requests were met with sighs, and getting a simple glass of water felt like a Herculean task. The indifference displayed was not just unprofessional; it was downright insulting. The food, if one can call it that, was an utter disaster. The meals we were served were so undercooked and flavorless that it felt as if the chef had taken a vow to eschew all culinary standards. It’s a mystery how one could manage to serve dishes that are simultaneously undercooked and devoid of any taste. The meats were rubbery and insipid, the vegetables were limp, and everything seemed to be prepared with a level of carelessness that suggested the chef might indeed have been cooking with his eyes closed. Describing the food as ‘disgusting’ is not an overstatement but a sad fact. Every bite was a gamble on one’s well-being, and the unappetizing presentation only added to the sense of dread that loomed over our table. It was not just a meal; it was an ordeal. The management seems to be in a state of denial about the culinary catastrophe unfolding under their watch. A restaurant that prides itself on its offerings should at least ensure that the food is cooked properly and that the service does not add insult to injury. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. I am appalled and regret the decision to dine at Baregrills Restaurant. This experience was not just a letdown; it was a glaring testament to how low standards can plummet when no one cares enough to uphold them. I hope this feedback serves as a wake-up call for the establishment to reassess its commitment to quality and service. Until then, I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of Baregrills Restaurant. There are plenty of establishments that offer not only edible but delicious meals accompanied by respectful service. Choose any one of them instead.

We came to celebrate our eldest’s 19th Birthday, really glad we chose here!! Lush food & great value for money. We will definitely be back again in the future.

I’ve reviews bare grills before and it has always been my favourite place to eat. We were sat at our table and once the food came, no one came and asked if everything was ok. The pork ribs were tough to eat, had to rip them off the bone. When we finished, we waited 15 minutes to see if we could get offered desert but no one came over. When I went to pay, I mentioned how the ribs weren’t nice and very tough where I had to rip it off the bone to which I got a reply…. “Oh I like them like that” She clearly don’t have a clue what a proper rack of ribs taste like. There was no, “oh I’m sorry you felt like that” Ribs were bad but the attitude was worse so for that reason I won’t ever go back. Better off going Hubbox up the road.

The food is nice enough, you certainly won’t go hungry eating here as the helpings of fries are plentiful, the burgers are very tasty with plenty of fillings, the thing that lets this place down in my opinion is the seating, which is rock hard and appears to have been made out of old pallets with a thin piece of foam as the cushion, the backs of which are not particularly well fixed so when you have a group of lads sat behind you with ADHD you are forever being banged in the back every time they bang themselves back into their seat.

Came for dinner with the family tonight. Amazing food from friendly staff as always. Bare Grills is our favourite restaurant and we'll keep coming back again and again. Thank you to all the staff

Good food and service but wrap-up it was really cold in there. If are seated in middle with the door opening its even worse. Probably wont go there again until the summer. It pretty much spoiled what was a good meal.

Arrived to a nearly empty restaurant, though it was only 5.30pm. seated quickly and service was good. The food came really quickly and was obviously all cooked fresh. Really tasty burgers and fries. Though the Mac and cheese was average, personally I don't think onion has a place in Mac and cheese but it was advertised like that so at least I was prepared! The chocolate fudge cake was lovely but my husband said his mint chocolate ice cream sundae wasn't great. The chocolate ice cream in it was bland. We'd definitely visit again

I got suckerd in by the reviews and a recommendation. Look I am from Taunton but don’t live here any more. But from the minute I walked in I knew what was coming. The kitchen was staffed with basically children so the steak was awful. Upgrade for 5 pounds for “dirty chips” and you get 1 dollop of cheese. Honestly don’t bother if you appreciate food

Great dinner last night with Ray and Jonnie as our servers, booking online I had asked for an accessible table as we had an elderly relative with mobility issues with us and as soon as we got there and Ray confirmed our booking she made sure our elderly family member was ok with the table seating and found a spot to put the walker so it wasn't in the way, it made my relative feel she wasn't an inconvienience so thank you for that.

It was great to see this place back up and running after the recent fire. The place was full when we arrived as a group of 5. We had a booth which provided ample space. The ribs here are fabulous. Just the right amount of sauce and very tender too that the meat just falls off the bone. Haven't tried anything else on the menu as we tend to go for the ribs but another member of the party had the chargrilled chicken and he said it was really nice but wished he had had the ribs.

The food was good served quickly but could not use our 25% discount code as we did not tell them we had one when we booked they would not take off the 25% but they would have to apply the voucher when we went to pay very confusing there is no option online to add that you have a voucher does telling them in advance mean u get a different standard or amount of food ?? Spoilt a good night.

I've had burgers and BBQ across the UK and in the USA in many different places, some stellar, some not. The Filthy Pig Burger which I had in Bare Grills on 4 November was hands down the best burger I have ever eaten. Unbelievably delicious and fresh, and some of the best (if not the best) fries alongside it, properly crispy outside without compromising the fluffy in side and beautifully seasoned. I'm so glad they're back open!

Have been here/ordered from here a heap of times over the years, always fantastic. Was excited to order food from here after they reopened after the fire. Might have been having an off night, but if that’s a sign of how things are now, will be avoiding in the future.

Came here as Skewer house was closed at the time. Steak was excellent and would recommend, and the dirty fries did feel like a good treat. I would recommend the meatier dishes, as the carb-heavy dishes didn't have too much flavour. The value was okay. I was really disappointed to see a server leave for a smoke break with no additional jacket/jumper over their uniform that they wore on the restaurant floor and in the kitchen.
