It's good for a quick meal but they do douse the food in a lot of sauce which makes me think what are they covering up...

Eat The Bird is our go to chicken place for any big event/anniversaries. We’ve never had a bad meal in the years we’ve been coming for our annual V-day meal. This last meal was just as nice and had lovely service, especially from our server Bea.

The staff made the experience! We came in on Fri 31st Jan to the Taunton branch and were served by an incredible staff member called Jake. He was so kind and bubbly and truly made the evening better. An amazing person and amazing chat, taking interest in our careers, recommending reads to me as a chef and making laughs and jokes with us the whole evening, an incredible worker who clearly loves his job. We recently dined at this restaurant and had an absolutely incredible experience. The burgers were simply phenomenal – juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. But the stars of the show were the staff. George and Tilly provided exceptional customer service, making us feel incredibly welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed. Their friendly and attentive service truly enhanced our dining experience. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic burger. We will definitely be back soon to try more of their delicious menu.

Well where do I start… For my birthday I thought I’d try somewhere I’ve never been, drove nearly an hour to get there even showed up early! Which is not like me… Eat the bird £50 may well of flushed it down the toilet! 7:30 was our booking time Like I said before showed up early (7:15). Got seated and that’s where the sh*t began. Got told the restaurant was table service so we sat and waited about 45 minutes! I then decided to get up and go to the bar to ask if it was table service or not, got told again “yes it is I will be with you to take your drinks”. The waitress took our drinks order and food order as we obviously had long enough to think about it. Took about another 20 minutes for our drinks to be given (only ordered two cokes) we sat and waited… and waited oh and waited even longer! About an hour went by I went up and asked how long the wait would be on our food, the lovely lad I spoke checked the table on the system to see but it didn’t say so he went and checked in the kitchen, he came back out and said about 10 minutes. Ooo yes I thought FOOD! I’m starving! Had to get another drink obviously as been sat there a while so I treated myself to a martini and my partner had a pint By the time these drinks came I looked at my partner and realised the car needed to be moved as we thought two hours would be plenty time to park up but obviously not! We did debate on leaving but by this point we thought we may aswell stay as it shouldn’t be much longer now and quite frankly just wanted to eat! 10 minutes turned into another 30 minutes!!!!! Oh the hanger kicked in! I must admit it wasn’t overly busy. The food EVENTUALLY came out the kitchen and was okay. But all the manager could do was take off our drinks!!! Absolutely ridiculous!! Just to be dumped in the corner and obviously forgotten about. Not on at all, and not happy about it!! Okay rant over.

My son eating the extreme tenders always throws everyone at Taunton and Exeter. We happily travel 40minutes each time as we know the food and service is always worth it!

Been a few times now and would like to leave a review. Very polite staff, Food cooked to a great standard, quick and tasty nothing major to complain about.. What you want from a good burger joint. Great way to start an evening or end a trip on. The atmosphere in the venue is very spacious and the lighting was nice. The only main issue if any, is outside although lovely again, when it gets to a point of the day, it can make the place look closed or at worse shut down. Some lighting could help a lot outside. Other than that we are very happy and would easily go back again

First time visiting after rave reviews from friends. The burger I had was amazing but the ‘OG tenders’ were disappointing. My friends all ordered the ‘Garlic Parm Tenders’ and these were much better! Some of the menu is pretty hit or miss but I would still implore people to visit. The staff were absolutely fantastic, the playlist was fitting and the atmosphere was super relaxed. I enjoyed the whole experience and would visit again.

Visited here last night for a Christmas staff event. Service was awful. We're not offered specials menus. Took 35 mins to take our order then an hour for our food in a quiet restaurant. Then cold from the fridge chicken wings served. Not enough cutlery and nobody came to ask if we wanted more drinks or check if everything was ok. We're sat for a further hour waiting for dishes to be cleared and have pudding. Nobody came! When going to the till to pay as apparently it was easier than at the table?! I gave our review so that no one would have to experience this again. Hackling from the kitchen was loud and rudeness towards us, so so cross wanted to go back in. With that amount of staff and people in the restaurant, I feel people in house need to be saved to a high standard before deliveries are dealt with, this was definitely not the case! We were cold as sat in a very drafty area but as nobody came to check on us we were unable to log this with anyone. Overall gutted, as I recommended this to our group but we won't be returning!

We came to Eat The Bird (Taunton) for dinner, and to be honest had a rubbish experience. We’ve been a few times before, and often there is a lot of us, and the food / service has been good. Unfortunately, 50mins + after ordering, the 2 of us still had not had our order, and although it was around 7pm, the restaurant was not too busy to justify that kind of wait. We didn’t complain, but the waitress did come over and apologise and offer us a complimentary drink which we thought was nice of her. The food still did not come for a good while after this, so we wonder whether it got forgotten about? And I feel like the waitresses should have communicated better, because at one point my partner and I genuinely contemplated leaving it seemed to be so long. Despite this, we were actually quite patient, and we both said hopefully when the food comes out it’ll be worth it. It was not. The chips were hot which were nice, both our chicken burgers were cold, I also ordered extra cheese on mine, however it was clearly not added - which was really annoying because we waited so much longer than necessary, alongside the fact other customers before us seemed to be getting their food. Anyway, the waitress told me she put it though the till, no doubt she did - but I’m confident it was not added to the burger, and then had to show her the inside, as I couldn’t be bothered to debate over this? However, she did agree it did not look like extra cheese was added, so she took it off the bill too. After a long day, then a long wait on food which was to be honest, was not to the standards we expected after visiting so many times before, we felt really frustrated with how much we paid for this meal (please see picture). I don’t think we will be coming back, it’s quite a journey for us anyway as we live 40 mins away, so it was really disappointing to have this experience. Only positive from this was the waitress who mainly served us, she was pleasant and understanding, and we did explain we never usually complain, so for us to speak up and say how bad our experience was should say a lot. Again really frustrated with the price of this meal as it was just such a letdown. If you’re hungry I don’t recommend going here

The food is amazing, the Beefy Boy burger is just my ultimate favourite and that's why I keep coming back to it. The venue is large and the views outside a great. Excellent atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. This won't be my last visit!

Massive group of us-19 tonight, for a family bday gathering and could not fault them in any way-food came out all together and was all hot and delicious-our server was fab too. Have been on the same date for a few years now and they never fail to impress us all :-)

Used to be great, but our last experience was an absolute parody of a terrible restaurant. We ordered for delivery. An hour and a half after we placed the order, we start wondering what's going on and try to phone the restaurant multiple times. No answer. No call back. Two hours after the order was placed, we get a text from the driver saying he's arrived... but somewhere else. After getting dressed to meet him in this location away from our house, we finally sit down to eat. The food is stone cold and dried to the point that it's unpalatable. Literally unpalatable - as in too dry to even chew properly. I'd initially assumed that the reason it was late was because there was a delay in the kitchen. I didn't for a moment think that any restaurant would prepare a meal upon receiving an order and then let it sit around on a counter for two hours before sending a driver out to deliver it. That's absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I don't know why they think they can get away with something like this as if it's a perfectly normal way of running a business that sells food. The cherry on top is that they never answered the phone when we wanted to ask about how this happened, so they can hear it all through this review instead. UPDATE: Regarding the response from Gordon below, I appreciate the assurances that everything that went wrong was actually the fault of the third party takeaway service and that none of this would have happened if we'd ordered directly through the restaurant's website. There's just one tiny problem. We DID order directly through the restaurant's website. :^)

I recently gave this establishment a 3* review....the taste was great but I didn't think it was good value for money due to only finding 3 cubes of chicken....I had the chicken Louisiana... However.. I have since had the same and it was perfect...really was what I had come to expect from Eat The Bird Taunton.... But I left it too late to leave a positive review on Deliveroo....also I received an email from them wanting to correct this....which I thought was lovely but not necessary as the the dud order was a one off. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am sick and tired of giving this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Two years ago, I loved this place. This has gone downhill so quickly and the food as of this evening was awful. Focus back on producing good, quality food. I would recommend somewhere else

My first time and definitely not my last!

Really good service on a friday lunchtime when it was fairly quiet. Good vegan options. My only criticism would be that the vegan chickless-tator burger was really wet from so much mayo and juices from the kimchi. The burger bun got really soaked and fell apart. Tasted great though!!

Eat the bird has always delivered and this time was no different, the staff were extremely helpful with anything that me and my partner needed and the food was stellar.
