Lovely food,drinking menu could be a bit better. Overall nice restaurant and worth going back.

We made a reservation at this restaurant and when we got there we were directed to a small table in front of the kitchen, we ordered 10 minutes after we got there, the drinks were super fast, the starters arrived 10/15 minutes later, I asked for water and brought me 2 jugs of tap water (I don't drink tap water) but I didn't complain... After more than an hour of us entering there, the girl comes to tell us that the steak was finished, when I saw that people arrived after us and were served with steak... I didn't want to choose anything else and asked for the bill, the girl said we didn't have to pay anything because the mistake was on the part of the restaurant... I went on purpose from chard to taunton, so we could go to this restaurant and go without dinner... I felt humiliated, I will not go back to this place

We booked a table for 9 people on Saturday, but only realised when we arrived that it was actually booked for the day before. However, the servers at Wildwood Taunton were very kind and accommodating, finding us a table with ease and without a fuss. Even though we were a no-show to the original booking and we had to be squeezed into the existing bookings on Saturday, we were greeted in a very friendly manner, served quickly and received great tasting food. Also, a 10th guest arrived unexpectedly and requested food about 2 hours after we originally arrived, yet a dinner and drink were still offered and served within 15 minutes. Overall, fantastic food and even better service. Would definitely visit again and look forward to doing so!

This wildwood is fantastic and I treat myself to a meal here most birthdays (with occasional visits in-between)! Incredible food, friendly service and a lovely clean modern vibe. Highly recommend the pizzas and the pasta is excellent. Only constructive criticism is please bring back the starter sharing platter!

Greeted warmly and showed to table. Menu explained including lunch time offers. Drinks delivered quickly, including tap water which was replenished. Excellent food, and waitress explained how we could get best value by mix and matching. Lovely venue and excellent service

We have eaten here on a number of occasions, for both drop in lunch time meals while shopping and for family/friends Birthday meals. On each occasion the staff have ben very friendly and helpful. The meals have been well presented, tasty and of good value. A good place to eat while in Taunton.

The Chicken & Chorizo Risotto was delicious and perfectly portioned, and the service was spot on. The staff made me feel welcomed right from the start and were attentive throughout my meal, checking in without being intrusive. The clean and inviting atmosphere added to the experience, making it a place I'll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend!

Excellent. We visited with 31 friends for lunch. The food arrived all together, was hot & delicious. The service was friendly & helpful & there was a great atmosphere. The prices were sensible too. Highly recommended.

We booked for an early dinner after a matinee performance at the Brewhouse. Friendly staff, varied menu. Our granddaughter loved her Calzone. I'm sure we'll visit again.

I enjoyed a lovely festive meal recently! The drinks were spot on, and the atmosphere really made it feel special. The service was top-notch, with our meals arriving promptly and the team checking in on us throughout. I have to mention the mixed olives and zucchini fritti—absolutely delicious! Just a heads-up, the rib-eye steak could use a little less fat, but overall, I was really impressed with the experience.

Really friendly service. They were really busy with Christmas parties but we still got served quickly and the food was all fresh.

We went for a work Christmas dinner on a Sunday evening, it was very quiet so the staff were not overly busy, but we seemed forgotten about a lot. My food was very disappointing, I ordered the Peri Peri Chicken Pasta, it came out luke warm and I could tell that the ingredients were very cheap - the chicken was deli chicken, the type of processed chicken breast slices you’d get in a meal deal sandwich. Not the quality I’d expect from a £15 bowl of pasta. I felt bad for my colleagues as I was the one who suggested and booked this restaurant, I had been there a couple of years ago and it was great so I was surprised and disappointed by the drop in quality. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful restaurant but I won’t be going back any time soon.

We preordered our Christmas meal for around 18 people. It took 1.5 hours for our starters to come out. The main of aubergine wasn’t cooked very well but by the time it arrived another 30 mins after our starter I was too hungry to complain. Dessert was ok. Processed and slightly burnt cookie dough. There were clearly too many bookings accepted as staff just couldn’t cope and the waitresses just seemed like they didn’t really know what they were doing. We asked for the service charge to be removed as we were there 3 hours. Based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Food was disappointing unfortunately. Cold and not great tasting. Very loud due to low ceiling acoustics, very squashed in downstairs.

This looked a fantastic place to have lunch, we couldnt get in earlier in the week so booked a table for today, we were excited to have our Christmas fun lunch here. We were greeted by a very unfriendly guy, we needed a table out of the way as my daughter has big back problems and didn’t want to be anywhere where she could get knocked into. He was very uninterested so we chose a table we thought was ok. She didn’t get knocked into so that was great! He took our order after about 15 minutes. By this point it wasn’t very busy. We got our drinks, Our starters came, they were ok, nothing special. We didn’t get our mains for over an hour. I had to ask where they were. When they did finally arrive, my main was cold and left a lot to be desired. My daughter’s meal was ok. There was a lovely waitress who came to check on us, told her mine was cold. After 20 minutes our waiter asked if I wanted a replacement. Told him I was so hungry I had to eat it and it was too late. You couldn’t see any staff for most of the meal. The table next to us had the same problem. Ended up paying over £50 for a less than ideal meal. We knocked the service charge off as it was so bad. We got given our bill by a very rude woman who was obviously very cross we got rid of the service charge! In all, I’d never go back. Terrible service, apart from the one lovely lady. Felt like we were an inconvenience. There’s probably lots of better places to go, just don’t bother going here!!

First visit with a friend and it was absolutely amazing.The food was really great,came almost straight away,and the dessert was served without us waiting too..Will definately be visiting again.

Unfortunately our Christmas party was ruined by cold food, rude manager and staff not really knowing what they were doing. On arrival we asked for some drinks which took 25 minutes to arrive. When the food came out it was stone cold and when we told the manager he said he will take it away and heat it up (we refused to have our food heated up in the microwave) We were there for 2 hours and still hadn't had our deserts so we left only paying for our drinks. Very unorganised and unprofessional management!

We had a reservation for our Christmas party this evening, and the experience was appalling. The main course arrived cold, and the dessert was burned—does anyone check the quality before serving? When it was time to pay, the manager refused to provide a receipt, claiming the PDQ machine only prints one for card entry—not true. Customers have the right to a receipt! On top of that, we were overcharged by £100, which I had to prove by breaking down the bill myself. Only then did the manager his name is Costa dismiss it, saying, “It’s fine, you can go.” His attitude was rude and disrespectful, even putting his hand in one of my friend’s faces. To top it off, a staff member confided that overcharging is a regular occurrence here. This was the worst Christmas party experience absolutely unacceptable! The rest staff were brilliant and feel sorry for them, the manager definitely embarrasses them!

Absolutely appalling service when there. The ginger one...the manager was very rude and treated us disgracefully. We asked for a receipt and we're told we couldn't have one, as he tried to charge us another £120 as we were about to leave. The food was cold when it arrived and the deserts were burnt. This was supposed to be a Christmas party and have never experienced so poor customer service or food. I would not recommend visiting here unless you'd like to be overcharged and leave hungry.

Becoming a regular lunchtime stop.

This will be the third time we have visited in Two years and the food has been of the highest standard always good well . Service has been lovely , we have been most times party’s of 8 to 10 and everyone had said how good the food is . Thank you to all the team . God Bless

Service a little slow but delightful staff and very good food for the price. A little was deducted from our bill for slow service on a couple of items. Best fried zucchini ever!

Really lovely food and atmosphere, beautiful decor and couldn’t fault our meal today which was for 11 people. All food was presented well, tasted great and good portion size. Waitress was also very swift and eager to make us all comfortable and happy. We will be back.

Great place for a nice dinner with friends.

Could not have been more accommodating as there were 5 of us and we hadn't booked. All staff were charming. Really lovely place, roomy and comfortable..Food reasonably priced and delicious. Will definitely be back and can highly recommend.

Asked for a few more minutes to decide and ended up having to wait nearly 20 mins for the server to come back despite there only being about 3 other tables. Didn't get a glass of water when I asked specifically. Food was mediocre and one of the prawns was served with it's head and shell on which I found a bit disgusting even if it's meant to be fancy. Don't recommend

Food was really nice and atmosphere is always good at wildwood in Taunton. The waitress’s was amazing but the manager had a really bad attitude. He should really think about his career considering he has to deal with customers. Left a sour experience after a nice meal.

Seafood linguine was fantastic and I didn’t have to wait 3-5 business days for it to come to the table either! Staff were helpful, I stepped in a puddle walking out the door and the staff helped by giving me damp cloth and washing up liquid to clean my shoes/trousers! Great place, you get what you pay for.

Nice place food a bit expensive

My daughters (aged 7) and I eat here regularly when in town and always enjoy it. On this visit both kids had the mini burger from the kids menu but there was nothing mini about it! Great sized and tasty burger with fries and some cucumber /tomato. I had a goats cheese and pesto pasta bake with loads of peppers which was really good. Service was good and friendly as usual. We will be back!

The food is not good and not bad it’s just ok. The service is good, atmosphere is nice. The “salad Caesar” is not “salad Caesar” at all.. no quail eggs, no cherry tomatoes, sauce is just usual average salad sauce, not “ceasar one”. Prices is really high.

The food is really lovely and there is a wide range of dishes available to suit all diets. Plus really good choices for desserts. Including some new additions to the menu - I recommend the fish cakes and eton mess. And lovely drinks too (went for passionfruit lemonade). The service varied from really quick to rather slow, but I would definitely recommend this restaurant. A relaxed atmosphere and nice decor.

From the initial greeting to the bill my first Wildwood (definitely not the last) was spot on. The manager who said hello to us was so nice and welcoming. We joked because we came through the back door, which in some places would be frowned upon, here though, not an issue. We were shown to a nice table in the busy restaurant, right by a window. Menu delivered and drinks order taken very efficiently. Our server was properly nice. She wanted to engage with us, not just do her job. Food ordered in a time that suited us. We are always chatting!! The food is really very good. Olives and flatbread were just right. I had a pizza. The base was cooked and crispy. The chilli oil actually had some fire to it. My partner had the Carbonara which she devoured. More drinks were ordered throughout the meal. Check backs from the team were good, and listened to. We will be back. Highly recommend Wildwood. I know it's a chain, but the team help you see over that. Well done Wildwood Taunton. A busy restaurant when other are struggling close by!!

Really disappointed i had the classic burger with bacon that was nothing special and had a slight burnt taste and no real flavour. We also had a few pizzas the toppings were lovely but the bace was extremely burnt and black to the point you could smell it up the table. They did replace them but again they were nothing special. The kids bolognaise was nice and the staff were very polite and curious. Its just a shame the food was poor especially for the price.

Good food and excellent service

Pizzas were great but unfortunately chips and steak sandwich were just warm and took over an hour to come. Suspect they were short staffed in the kitchen, but would still go back and try again as never had issues with this chain before at the other branches.

we came last week and found the staff quite rude,unfriendly and unapproachable. the food was ok a bit undercooked though. we wouldn’t come back due to the staffs attitude and wouldn’t recommend.

Really enjoyed our lunch at Wildwood. The gluten free pizza base was one of the best we've had. Great to see gluten free pasta on offer too. The chairs and sofas were very comfortable and the atmosphere was really pleasant. It didn't feel the dining space was too crowded and the service was very friendly and prompt. Silverware and glassware was really good quality - always nice to see decent wine glasses on offer! Soft drinks were presented with a lot of ice in them, so I'll probably ask for less ice next time! But other than that we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again.

Lovely building but very disappointed with lunch. Ordered Burrata for starter which was served straight from the fridge and was like a bullet! Should be soft and milky it was such a shame. Had to wait a while for my partners risotto and that was fine you can’t rush a dish like that but I ordered pasta with mozzarella and what I got was artisan pasta that had been cooked to death with large lumps of freezing cold mozzarella placed on top. The pasta was barely warm and had a awful tinny taste. I did send it back and was asked if I would like something else but turned the offer down! I would hope the kitchen staff should understand the ingredients they are using 😊 Must have just been an off day!

This place had the most wonderful food! It was a beautifully bright venue, with friendly staff and very quick service. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes any food and a nice, relaxed night out. It was genuinely beautiful, and I cannot stress enough how delightful the food was 😀

Lovely place to eat. The surroundings are lovely, very well decorated & extremely clean. We had a lovely table & were served quickly (we pre-booked) My starter was particularly delicious. I had the tomato bruschetta & it was amazing, a lovely combo of perfect toast & tomatoes that were incredible (ate every last morsel on that plate! One of my fave starters & the best bruschetta I have ever had tbh. Our main meal was delicious too. Too full for a dessert unfortunately, maybe the next time we are in Taunton. Compliments to the chef. 5⭐. Prices reasonably as expected for dinner & we knew the prices after reading the website prior. The booking system was easy to use online. Waitresses were all polite. Some younger ones seemed a little bit confused at times. The young lady when we arrived didn't even ask my name for the booking but the restaurant was quiet so I suppose it didn't really matter. Husband would have liked to have seen more choice to get a proper pint only (one draught beer choice) rather than mostly bottled beers which is only half a pint really & is a more expensive way to have a few beers with your meal. Now I do not mind tipping and will quite happily tip when I think the service is good. But to be handed your bill with the service charge already added on I think is wrong. Then asked by the waitress are we happy to pay the service charge, I believe leads to an awkward situation. We said yes we were happy to but actually felt put on the spot & obliged to pay it. I would much rather when adding my card details there was an option to tip or to not on the card machine as I have seen in many restaurants, this ceases the embarrassment of saying no. (We would have tipped but would have left a cash tip) I would definitely return though even if it was just for the bruschetta 😍. Lovely meal & relaxed environment.

ASK Italia could not fit us in and reccomended Wild Wood, and we were so glad they did.. Far superior food and service here with a good choice of food and drink and they do the lunchtime menu till 5pm... We will be back. Friendly helpful staff just made it a great experience.... Steve and Karen

Lovely lunch today with friends at Wildwood Taunton. We visited following a visit to Reynards escape rooms. Wildwood has a really varied menu and a great lunchtime deal. My group ordered a selection of dishes - pizza, pasta, chicken burger and salad. All were delicious. We also enjoyed a selection of soft drink including a couple of mocktails and a couple of us enjoyed dessert - the brownie was lovely and gooey, the Eton mess enormous Service was friendly but a little slow at times especially towards the end of our meal when we wanted the bill.

Great food, great atmosphere. The decor is good and the location is great. The banging noise you hear when eating is from the ballet school upstairs.

Only thing that let it down was the noise from the dance studio above. But this isn't anything that the restaurant can do for this. Overall fantastic food and fantastic service. I had the oven baked chicken and mushroom penne with a tirmasu for dessert and my husband had the chicken piccatta milanese with the cookies and cream cheesecake for dessert. Highly recommend all 4.

Great menu with wide variety of options for different dietary preferences. Very nice atmosphere. The lemon tart was stunning.

Food was nice but small portions and very expensive. The lasagna wasn't served with a side salad which it could do with the bulk out the small portion size

The first thing you notice when entering the restaurant is that it is a large room. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant place to eat. The pizza menu is a bit limited, but they were well made and cooked. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a nice meal.

Lovely food and lovely staff members serving us. My mum is gluten free and wanted a pasta dish on the menu that didn't say Gluten free but the waitress when to check for my mum just ti be safe and it came GF which my mum was very happy about. Really enjoyed the meals.

We had food in Taunton Wildwood before and it was acceptable quality and taste. When we had burgers there on 23/03/24, we couldn't believe how tasteless and cheaply made the burgers were. They also came with no sauce in them at all. We had to ask for burger sauce and that didn't make any difference. For £15 a burger, you would expect a better quality and taste. The mayonnaise we were given did not even taste like mayonnaise, it was cheap white wholesale grease. They add 10% service charge which you don't get anywhere else and it is awkward to tell them to take it off. The drinks are also too expensive. We spent over £70 in there and as far as we are concerned, the money went into the bin and we wouldn't return unless compensated.

We were a large party on 10 April at the end of a long day (funeral) and the food, service and ambience was just what was needed. The person who served us on the evening was absolutely brilliant - very welcoming, professional and friendly, catering for all our needs.

My mrs had to add 2 lots of salt to her carbonara to make it even taste good my steak came out cold just like my chips and my steak was also burned was like eating charcoal, they even added a optional 10% service charge staff kept coming over every two minutes after we said we weren’t ready to order they were quite impatient won’t be coming back

Hi I was yesterday evening, pizza 🍕 not was good ,staff he asked if everything was ok. and it was bothering me to eat. I didn't comment anything because I didn't want to be rude ,at the end of the pedaling bill on which they added a 10% tip without asking To say that I don't recommend it, today I run to the toilet all the time :(:(

We went there with my friend to have a pizza. First we were sat at a really uncomfortable table the space between the table and the sofa was so small that we couldn’t really seat or breathe properly, we ask if we can be moved to another table and the response was that they are all the same…. The pizza wasn’t well cooked, we didn’t make any comments as we just didn’t want to get in to arguments and not having a nice evening. But this morning we both had to visit the toilet 3 times already. 😔😔😔 We also had service charges added to the bill without our consent.

4pm on Valentines day 3 adults and 4 kids entered restaurant. After being initially ignored by 1st waitress, we asked for a table for a quick meal. Only about 6 people already in and loads of empty tables as you'd expect for late afternoon. But they said they couldn't help us as fully booked, even when we pointed out empty restaurant. Whilst waiting for 2 kids to come back from the toilet the manager then approached to see if we needed anything. After explaining we wanted to eat but apparently you're full, was again refused and told its valentines day and we were never going to find anywhere for 7 without a booking. Wandered over the road into ASK Italian, table for 7, no problem. We joked that at least some staff are welcoming and friendly, and staff member said, let me guess you've been to Wildwood. Apparently not the 1st customers to be turned away this afternoon. ASK food was delicious coupled with impeccable service from all staff. We were done by 5.30. Wandered back past Wildwood on way back to car and guess who still had empty tables. To owners of Wildwood, your rude and lazy staff turned down at least £150-£300 pounds today because they couldn't be arsed to reset some tables for later bookings. For anyone reading this review, if you want rude service from "can't be bothered staff" then go ahead and book. If you don't then go down the road.

Celebrating our grandsons 18th birthday-lovely clean restaurant staff were very attentive and you couldnt have asked for more from them,food ordered and delivered altogether which doesnt always happen so well done, food was nice but expensive for what you got ,my meal was ok but the chips were great, welcomed children the only downside was it was very cold we were sat next to the chimney and think we had a draft from that ,but they do serve vegan and coeliac choices so well done on that too,toilets were also very clean thank you for a lovely evening! Also very happy for you to take your own celebration cake and provide plates, serviettes and cutlery for this at no extra charge ,

Really fast service! We had a starter and a main and the food came out hot and fast. It was tasty and left feeling very satisfied. This was our second time there and we will go again. Service was lovely the ladies were very chatty and took care of us. The atmosphere built nicely as more people filled the restaurant. A nice place to go with friends.

Horrible burger, undercooked chips, coffee was milky water, 6 staff members huddled round the till gossiping instead of serving. Avoid.

Very nice Italian restaurant in town centre. Good quality food. Pleasant atmosphere. We came here for our office Christmas lunch. Recommended.
