Lovely building but very disappointed with lunch. Ordered Burrata for starter which was served straight from the fridge and was like a bullet! Should be soft and milky it was such a shame. Had to wait a while for my partners risotto and that was fine you can’t rush a dish like that but I ordered pasta with mozzarella and what I got was artisan pasta that had been cooked to death with large lumps of freezing cold mozzarella placed on top. The pasta was barely warm and had a awful tinny taste. I did send it back and was asked if I would like something else but turned the offer down! I would hope the kitchen staff should understand the ingredients they are using 😊 Must have just been an off day!

Nice atmosphere, child friendly activity sheet/menu, friendly staff, food excellent, just dropped a star for the extremely spicy pepperoni on the children's pizza. 🥵

This place had the most wonderful food! It was a beautifully bright venue, with friendly staff and very quick service. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes any food and a nice, relaxed night out. It was genuinely beautiful, and I cannot stress enough how delightful the food was 😀

Lovely place to eat. The surroundings are lovely, very well decorated & extremely clean. We had a lovely table & were served quickly (we pre-booked) My starter was particularly delicious. I had the tomato bruschetta & it was amazing, a lovely combo of perfect toast & tomatoes that were incredible (ate every last morsel on that plate! One of my fave starters & the best bruschetta I have ever had tbh. Our main meal was delicious too. Too full for a dessert unfortunately, maybe the next time we are in Taunton. Compliments to the chef. 5⭐. Prices reasonably as expected for dinner & we knew the prices after reading the website prior. The booking system was easy to use online. Waitresses were all polite. Some younger ones seemed a little bit confused at times. The young lady when we arrived didn't even ask my name for the booking but the restaurant was quiet so I suppose it didn't really matter. Husband would have liked to have seen more choice to get a proper pint only (one draught beer choice) rather than mostly bottled beers which is only half a pint really & is a more expensive way to have a few beers with your meal. Now I do not mind tipping and will quite happily tip when I think the service is good. But to be handed your bill with the service charge already added on I think is wrong. Then asked by the waitress are we happy to pay the service charge, I believe leads to an awkward situation. We said yes we were happy to but actually felt put on the spot & obliged to pay it. I would much rather when adding my card details there was an option to tip or to not on the card machine as I have seen in many restaurants, this ceases the embarrassment of saying no. (We would have tipped but would have left a cash tip) I would definitely return though even if it was just for the bruschetta 😍. Lovely meal & relaxed environment.

ASK Italia could not fit us in and reccomended Wild Wood, and we were so glad they did.. Far superior food and service here with a good choice of food and drink and they do the lunchtime menu till 5pm... We will be back. Friendly helpful staff just made it a great experience.... Steve and Karen

Lovely lunch today with friends at Wildwood Taunton. We visited following a visit to Reynards escape rooms. Wildwood has a really varied menu and a great lunchtime deal. My group ordered a selection of dishes - pizza, pasta, chicken burger and salad. All were delicious. We also enjoyed a selection of soft drink including a couple of mocktails and a couple of us enjoyed dessert - the brownie was lovely and gooey, the Eton mess enormous Service was friendly but a little slow at times especially towards the end of our meal when we wanted the bill.

Great food, great atmosphere. The decor is good and the location is great. The banging noise you hear when eating is from the ballet school upstairs.

Has a wonderful experience at Wildwood this evening ! The service we were given was exceptional and the staff were incredibly friendly! Big shout out to Michelle who went above and beyond to serve us :) Thank you so much xx

Only thing that let it down was the noise from the dance studio above. But this isn't anything that the restaurant can do for this. Overall fantastic food and fantastic service. I had the oven baked chicken and mushroom penne with a tirmasu for dessert and my husband had the chicken piccatta milanese with the cookies and cream cheesecake for dessert. Highly recommend all 4.

Food was nice but small portions and very expensive. The lasagna wasn't served with a side salad which it could do with the bulk out the small portion size

The first thing you notice when entering the restaurant is that it is a large room. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant place to eat. The pizza menu is a bit limited, but they were well made and cooked. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a nice meal.

Lovely food and lovely staff members serving us. My mum is gluten free and wanted a pasta dish on the menu that didn't say Gluten free but the waitress when to check for my mum just ti be safe and it came GF which my mum was very happy about. Really enjoyed the meals.

We had food in Taunton Wildwood before and it was acceptable quality and taste. When we had burgers there on 23/03/24, we couldn't believe how tasteless and cheaply made the burgers were. They also came with no sauce in them at all. We had to ask for burger sauce and that didn't make any difference. For £15 a burger, you would expect a better quality and taste. The mayonnaise we were given did not even taste like mayonnaise, it was cheap white wholesale grease. They add 10% service charge which you don't get anywhere else and it is awkward to tell them to take it off. The drinks are also too expensive. We spent over £70 in there and as far as we are concerned, the money went into the bin and we wouldn't return unless compensated.

We were a large party on 10 April at the end of a long day (funeral) and the food, service and ambience was just what was needed. The person who served us on the evening was absolutely brilliant - very welcoming, professional and friendly, catering for all our needs.

My mrs had to add 2 lots of salt to her carbonara to make it even taste good my steak came out cold just like my chips and my steak was also burned was like eating charcoal, they even added a optional 10% service charge staff kept coming over every two minutes after we said we weren’t ready to order they were quite impatient won’t be coming back

Hi I was yesterday evening, pizza 🍕 not was good ,staff he asked if everything was ok. and it was bothering me to eat. I didn't comment anything because I didn't want to be rude ,at the end of the pedaling bill on which they added a 10% tip without asking To say that I don't recommend it, today I run to the toilet all the time :(:(

We went there with my friend to have a pizza. First we were sat at a really uncomfortable table the space between the table and the sofa was so small that we couldn’t really seat or breathe properly, we ask if we can be moved to another table and the response was that they are all the same…. The pizza wasn’t well cooked, we didn’t make any comments as we just didn’t want to get in to arguments and not having a nice evening. But this morning we both had to visit the toilet 3 times already. 😔😔😔 We also had service charges added to the bill without our consent.

4pm on Valentines day 3 adults and 4 kids entered restaurant. After being initially ignored by 1st waitress, we asked for a table for a quick meal. Only about 6 people already in and loads of empty tables as you'd expect for late afternoon. But they said they couldn't help us as fully booked, even when we pointed out empty restaurant. Whilst waiting for 2 kids to come back from the toilet the manager then approached to see if we needed anything. After explaining we wanted to eat but apparently you're full, was again refused and told its valentines day and we were never going to find anywhere for 7 without a booking. Wandered over the road into ASK Italian, table for 7, no problem. We joked that at least some staff are welcoming and friendly, and staff member said, let me guess you've been to Wildwood. Apparently not the 1st customers to be turned away this afternoon. ASK food was delicious coupled with impeccable service from all staff. We were done by 5.30. Wandered back past Wildwood on way back to car and guess who still had empty tables. To owners of Wildwood, your rude and lazy staff turned down at least £150-£300 pounds today because they couldn't be arsed to reset some tables for later bookings. For anyone reading this review, if you want rude service from "can't be bothered staff" then go ahead and book. If you don't then go down the road.

Celebrating our grandsons 18th birthday-lovely clean restaurant staff were very attentive and you couldnt have asked for more from them,food ordered and delivered altogether which doesnt always happen so well done, food was nice but expensive for what you got ,my meal was ok but the chips were great, welcomed children the only downside was it was very cold we were sat next to the chimney and think we had a draft from that ,but they do serve vegan and coeliac choices so well done on that too,toilets were also very clean thank you for a lovely evening! Also very happy for you to take your own celebration cake and provide plates, serviettes and cutlery for this at no extra charge ,

Just a perfect dinner, in seated, ate and home in 90 minutes. Brilliant.

Really fast service! We had a starter and a main and the food came out hot and fast. It was tasty and left feeling very satisfied. This was our second time there and we will go again. Service was lovely the ladies were very chatty and took care of us. The atmosphere built nicely as more people filled the restaurant. A nice place to go with friends.

Horrible burger, undercooked chips, coffee was milky water, 6 staff members huddled round the till gossiping instead of serving. Avoid.

Very disappointed with the meal there last night. Aubergine was hard, not cooked enough. Salad very simple. Tiramisu less good than then one i got from Aldi recently. The food for the 4 of us didnt come at the same time. But the place looks nice and staff were nice.Wont go there again as there are much better places for food in town.

Really quick service and everything provided for. The food was great and consideration for those who had allergies and intolerances. Would definitely go again with friends and family.

Great food great service, however there was a mix up with the menue and was told about the "set menue" which we ordered from, was different to what we got... and after saying we ordered from it, we was "explained" to twice more why we had made an error?? Weird.

11 of us went for dinner ...table 7pm. We had pre ordered starters and mains. Starters arrived at 8.20pm and mains 8.30pm!! The staff weren't interested....mains came out and starter plates hadn't been removed. Drinks were ordered when we arrived ...noone asked if we wanted any more! I ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard ...the pudding arrived nice and hot ...the custard had just been taken out of the fridge 🥶🥶🥶🥶 When we went to pay the manager offered to take 25% off the food...but he went through everyone's bills first to discount them and then round again for everyone to pay ....some were still charged full price. It was an absolute shambles. I definitely won't be returning

Had to wait 1 hour 30 minutes for our main course to arrive and that's after pre ordering! Was with a group of 11 and it was a real hassle paying separately. They did knock 25% off the bill for the terrible service. The white wine and herb sauce with the chicken romana was none existent! Very thin and tasteless when I asked for some sauce. Also served COLD custard with sticky toffee pudding!

Food was excellent, service was not as good as it could be, however, the atmosphere made up for this.

Large group all pre ordered..less than 50% had starters yet our mains didn't arrive until nearly 1 and a half hrs after arriving!! Drinks not replenished. Hot dessert arrived with ice cold custard. Discount given for some poor food and terrible service. Took over 30 mins to sort the bill out. Freezing cold room. Won't be going back!

Firstly, the wine is awful! The list is particularly vague. £28.95 for a bottle of wine that must have cost £5. It was terrible. Drinks were really slow. We started ordering our next drinks before the first had come out due to how slow they were. The food was pretty standard but it’s probably too expensive for what it is. I wouldn’t go back and I’d recommend others to avoid it.

Been to Taunton many time for lunch but had never tried this resteraunt befor. Very slow service. We felt forgotten even though it wasn't particularly busy.

The food here has been great, especially the Pizzas. The resteraunt is a very pleasant place to sit and the staff are friendly. However the times I've been here the tables have not at all been clean.

Great option for lunch or dinner. Varied menu of “favourites” covering most tastes - pasta, pizza, burgers, fish, numerous vegetarian options etc - simple stuff done well at a reasonable price. I had the courgette and goats cheese pizza which was superb. Maitre D is on the ball and the service very good.It’s a large open space inside so it can be noisy but you are still able to talk easily enough.

Excellent place and excellent meals

First off, not asked if we had any food allergies. Not that we do, but it's a pretty standard question nowadays. Secondly, quite rushed to place our order, by two different staff who weren't aware the other had already asked. Once the starter had been eaten there was a 20 minute gap before the main arrived, and much the same timescale until the dessert. That eaten we were never approached to see if anything else was required. Would have had a coffee but had waited too long by then. It was explained that there were only two waiting staff and a try-out, but the place wasn't exactly buzzing and with that level of staffing I'm surprised it was able to open. Anyway, suffice to say, we won't be darkening the doorstep again.

No t asked if we had any allergies. Served by 3different people. Food ok. Huge wait or haranging us for choice. No consistency. After deserts totally ignored. Been there since 7pm food etc completed by 20.30. Then totally blanked. Would have ordered coffee. Gave up so so so disappointed. Lame excuses given by staff I,e, short of staff, trial etc. Place was not busy. Girl server sulky when we refused to pay what should be a discretionary service charge. We will not visit again. We eat out regularly and our bill was over £100. NO WONDER THE HOSPITALITY SERVICE IS ON ITS KNEES!!!!!!!!!

I like this place. Foods good, child portions are good and well priced (important for my mental health!). I would say adult prices are edging on expensive, (£4.95 for a side of fries) and the service charge just adds to the number further, they do deserve it really. But, it's a nice atmosphere, good service, clean etc. So yes, I'll be going back.

Really good experience in this place. I have tried many pizzas in a lot of places and their Calzone was very tasty, well presented and topped beautifully.

A beautiful place to eat in Taunton town centre - with vegan choices.

Good location, welcome was so so, I had two walking sticks, so not really friendly if you have a disability. I had the buttermilk chicken burger my friend had the lasagne, my friends was great but mine came out with a burnt bun on top, the chicken was tepid and tasted very watery. Did not think this place was value for money.

A large group of us called in on a Friday night, and the manager went out of his way to find us a table. The service was good. Staff friendly and happy to help. The restaurant is well presented and clean. Love an open kitchen you can see in. The food was good. The one down point was that it was a little pricey for what it is. This is a chain restaurant done very well. We have visited other ones and they felt better value. I don't know why this is????

Looked like it would be a generic food eatery, but actually delivered some great dishes that felt like they had been prepared with care and attention. Interesting and varied menu even down to some interesting drinks choices.

What a great place to eat. Food first class. Staff polite and very professional . 2 courses inc glass of wine £14.45. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

The food in this place was excellent we were tired and hungry from a long journey. However both the toilets were grim. When we reported this a member of staff said she had cleaned them this morning it was about six o'clock by this time. That tells you everything.

Popped in for dinner whilst visiting Taunton. Good service, tasty food, drinks maybe a little expensive to be honest. Was impressed by the service as it's mostly young people but they were all very pleasant and enthusiastic - from experience elsewhere that's not always the situation.

Lovely food, but I chose a cesar salad today, which looked more like a starter than a meal. I was disappointed with the size and the price. I asked for the chicken and goat cheese which came as extra ( no surprise here as stated on the menu) but honestly, if there hadn't been the Chicken and cheese it would gave been tiny with very very little in it. With the extra, it cost me £17,30!!!! I wish i thought about taking a picture... That said, it was delicious. On the other hand , the kids' mini burgers were huge 🤔.... The vegetarian lasagna was delicious and of decent portion.

Popped in for a meal to break up the journey home, lovely food, the most friendly and well mannered staff.

Went here for lunch, a new venue for my husband and I. We had a comfy seat overlooking the town square with plenty of room. I had the pasta a la norma and my husband had the pizzetta with salad . Food was served quickly and was well presented and tasty. Overall a pleasant experience and we will return

Pizza was awesome but the spaghetti bolognese was horrible. Very watery and not much taste. 52£ for those 2 meals and 2x 0.25 cola just way to expensive for my taste.

This is always a safe bet. Menu is fairly big and varied so anyone can find something to their taste. Good quality is pretty good and price is OK too. Added to that, comfortable furniture, nice decor and friendly service, its a good choice. 👍

I had lunch today at this lovely old building which has been converted into a restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. I also enjoyed a bottle of beer with my food. The venue is centrally located in Taunton.

Specifically asked for rare steak and was assured it would be. Was served medium. Took 50mins for mains to come of which most were salad/antipasto beside two steaks

This is an excellent restaurant that catered for 12 of us for a birthday celebration meal. The food was splendid. Several of us had the cookies and cream cheesecake which was a new item on the menu. It is one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had! The service was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. The atmosphere and setting is very good and we will definitely return!

I came here with a friend last week and we were quite underwhelmed with the food. We had the lunch time deal of calamari and bolognese / chicken burger. It was very average. My bolognese was mostly bland pasta with a small amount of basic sauce. We really weren’t impressed. The alcohol selection is also very basic - there needs to be more options. The staff were ok - no conversation or personal touches but they were polite enough. The style and decor of Wildwood is great though - really stylish and modern.
