Rancho South American Steak House, Poole, Dorset in Poole

Such a shame to do a negative review however the service is very poor….we were sat for 30minutes before we were offered a drink, 5 members of staff were stood around the bar chatting and ignoring customers. The waitress dropped a glass of ice over one member of the table and then later dropped dirty cutlery over another member. The restaurant was not that busy but there appeared no urgency from staff to provide service. The ribs were lovely however, the chips didn’t come out with the ribs and we had to ask for them in the end. Some portions were clearly reheated. Due to customer service we unfortunately will not be returning.

Whilst in Poole for a 2 night break, we visited our favourite steak restaurant there. We each ordered an 8oz fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection tender & very tasty, served with a fresh side salad & we shared a portion of their steak fries. We added a bottle of Merlot to accompany our meal. The service & attention were great - thanks for a lovely evening.

Went on Wednesday for a birthday celebration. Not going ever again. Had to wait nearly an hour for our main course, appalling table service, we didn't bother with a sweet as didn't want to wait another hour, but we weren't even offered a sweet menu anyway!!! Main course was just OK, no more. Poor value for money. To top it all had the family from hell sat next to us, two kids running all around the restaurant. Staff didn't seem bothered 🤔

Ordered a fillet steak medium and it came out medium well. It was still somewhat tasty. Had to ask for a steak knife… (in a steak restaurant)

We came for our 7 year anniversary!!! We were served by a lovely waitress called Ella who served us with a smile. The food was excellent, we had the mixed grill and the Rib and steak combo, which were cooked to our liking and served to us in good time by a different waiter we believe was called Harry or Harrison and the raspberry mojitos were epic! Highly recommend to all, we will definitely be going again.

Great experience as always!! The new manager has done wonders with this place. The food is just incredible and there is something for everyone on the vast menu. Staff are friendly and attentive and everytime we have friends or family to visit we always go here… we had a table of 22 last week and even then the food was amazing, hot and well presented.. nothing is too much trouble. We haven't been to Rancho for a year at least. It used to be very good until the front of house guy left and it went down hill quite quickly service wise. We did persevere 2 more times but thought no its finished. A friend of mine visited just a week or 2 ago and praised it. So we thought we'd give it another go. Well I'm so pleased to say Mariam and her team were brilliant. We were brought our drinks in no time. Followed by our dinner. The food was even better than before. I had steak and ribs. The ribs used to be served with a dry glaze but now have a sauce on them which brings them to a new level. The steak was cooked perfectly to my choice of medium. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and whole experience. Well done Rancho and good luck for the future. We'll definitely be back

This review doesn’t reflect in any way on the young folks whom were the waitresses & waiters etc, they were pleasant. Doing their best. Distinctly lacking in atmosphere. Ribs tough, felt undercooked, hard to cut. No milk for coffees or hot drinks? Really? On a weekend? There’s a Tesco express two minutes walk away worst case scenario? No lime, appreciate Tescos isn’t your usual supplier, but again if you’ve run out altogether? Peak time weekend and your barely 5% full, seems coasting to eventually close down. Used to be better.

We went here for a birthday meal and the food was cooked perfectly, the atmosphere was great and the staff were super friendly. Also, a special thank you to our server Ella who was amazing.

Came here with my family for a birthday meal, the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was incredible and well cooked to our preferences - I had the T-Bone and it was incredible. There was no long waits for drinks and staff made sure that our glasses were full, the deserts were what toped it for me, with a candle being placed on the top for my brothers birthday. Will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend for all!

Went originally for nibbles but the table next to me made me hungry. That led us to order mains and what a decision it was phenomenal bits of meat with good service to accompany would recommend to any couples looking for a spicy 😉 night out.

My partner and I went here for dinner, and it was honestly one of the worst meals I've had out in a while. I have been a couple of times previously a few years ago and really enjoyed the food, however it has clearly gone massively downhill since then. We ordered a large 21oz ribeye to share with a selection of sides. When the steak arrived it was practically still mooing (I understand that it's a large cut of meat, but I've been in cheaper restaurants with larger cuts (with more people) and it's been perfectly cooked). We sent it back and when it came back it again was still undercooked, yet well done around the edges. The sides were poor, offering a basic bag of salad covered in salad cream, raw spinach soaked in cream, and mushrooms soaked in oil. The waitresses were lovely and couldn't fault their service, even if they were rushed off their feet with the owner just sat in the corner doing nothing. Long story short, avoid at all costs!

The location is very easy to ring on the quays . The staff all young were friendly and attentive and were excellent . The food was delivered quickly and was lovely and of good size .

Members of restaurant team were having a full blown argument in the middle of the restaurant in front of guests. Lasted on and off for about an hour. So unprofessional. Spoiled the night

I visited for the first time with my son for a birthday treat , on a Tuesday night for the unlimited ribs , priced at 19.95 , we weren’t disappointed, they were amazing , we were offered seconds , but we couldn’t eat them , so the waitress boxed them up for us to take home , a really nice gesture, Big Thankyou to our waitress LACEY , you were very polite and helpful , we will definitely be coming back , thanks again

The staff were so kind and enthusiastic. As soon as we got seated we received a bowl of chips. They were very nice. We received our drinks quickly and even made mock tails at our request.
