Great place for a drink, friendly service and live music (Sunday evening)

This has to be the most authentic mexican food outside of Mexico

My friends and I used to all be locals at this place, probably around 20 of us. It used to be a great place to go. My girlfriend and I still go occasionally to play pool on our days off, however recently the staff are so insanely rude to every single customer that walks in I feel as though I have to post it online. We've watched one man specifically, the skinny white guy with the long hair (usually tied in a bun). I have genuinely never seen someone be so rude to customers in all my life. If the owner of this pub is reading this, seriously consider firing this guy. I've worked in multiple pubs and been to plenty. I've known many bad workers and many good workers, this guy is the worst. He was whistling aggressively at people to tap their card faster on the card machine. So loudly that everyone in the pub stopped and turned around, completely humiliating this poor guy for no reason. No one was waiting to be served, nothing, the staff member was just being a dick. I've watched people request him music, change volumes etc and instead of politely declining I have literally watched him look at them and walk away without saying anything. All 20 of my friends hate this guy, I hate this guy, everyone hates this guy and I know a LOT of people who don't attend this pub anymore specifically because if this guy. Also, whenever he opens he opens the pub almost half an hour late. If you want proof of this, one day is Thursday 14th November. Pub has potential, but the guy with long hair behind the bar needs to be sacked. Sad

I went to Ninth Ward on a Tuesday for their advertised all you can eat wings only to be met with limited portion sizes and very long delays in service. It felt like the staff was trying to wait me out until I left so they wouldn’t have to serve me as many wings as I wanted. Very bad experience and I would not want to go back again.

My partner and I come here quite regularly, and the food is always fantastic! This evening, we arrived quite late, and Antonio and Sophia went out of their way to accommodate us. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Also, they have a banger playlist ♥️

I went for a little cheeseburger with some bits and bobs toppings. It was tasty but I don’t think it is worth the £8.65 price tag. The bun is too sweet for my taste. There are far better burgers on offer down Upper Street.

Vibey live music bar and nightclub. Plenty of areas to hang out and chat or dance near the live music. Many bar areas to get decently priced cocktails. Coat and bag check possible for a fee. Fans on the dance floor to keep us cool into the early hours, music on request and also come if it’s your birthday because they do a celebration!

They have the best salad from East.

Lovely scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, toast and coffee.

We had the chicken wings, which had a delicious bbq sauce, nachos,, chicken Bbq burger and the fish burger. Service was great and ambiance was perfect

We had a brilliant stay at Malmaison huge thanks to Francesca for helping us out and saving our anniversary! Hotel was well equipped, room service was great and it was really well located and super easy to get to everywhere we wanted.

Beautiful place with an amazing view, food was really good but unfortunately the manager was very rude (not sure of her name she has brown hair and is very loud) she alone made my stay in the restaurant unbearable, she spoke to me like I was an idiot which I didn’t appreciate. I won’t be returning and I strongly suggest you get a new manager I feel sorry for the other lovely staff I met there.

I don’t necessarily write reviews about things like this but when it’s an insult I have to say something. I’ve always placed online order from Uber Eats As a vegetarian I always used to order the mushroom burger where you would get decent 5 big wholesome mushrooms in the bun. On a couple of occasions there would be 4 which I raised and they would take it into consideration. Realistically it doesn’t cost them much for a veggie mushroom burger. I had’t ordered here for a while and in the last week I ordered the same burger twice, on different days through Uber Eats (bear in mind prices have now gone up). It was so frustrating and insulting when I received my burger with the smallest amount of mushrooms in size! They were like baby mushrooms, decreased in size and they were only 4!! I thought it was a one off but when the second order was the same I thought enough. All I was eating was bun. You are already paying high enough prices and the food should reflect that. Especially when vegetables don’t cost them as much as meat from suppliers, but you are paying similar prices to meat burgers. If you are a vegetarian do not order from here as they are taking liberties and are cutting costs at any given chance. Unacceptable and so disappointing. There are other veggies places on Upper street who offer a far more generous service. I would recommend KOD. But don’t waste your time eating here…daylight robbery for vegetarians.

What a great place to come across. A local pub, in a quiet residential location, with the such good food, great service and great atmosphere. The live music is terrific, it’s not so loud that you can’t hear or talk, we enjoyed it all. In fact we went twice and it was just as good the second time.
