I had my hen do party at the hotel. The atmosphere, food, and staff were delightful in the function room. V and Sara looked after us very well. Their care and attention to detail made our dinner very enjoyable and comfortable.

Friendly, welcoming greeting from Victor, turned a very long day into a happier one with a room upgrade and a complimentary drink ! Thank you. Great spacious room and facilities. Fantastic food, drinks and ambiance.

Brilliant from the moment we arrived at reception to a lovely warm welcome. The cuisine was excellent along with outstanding service. The ambience gave a wonderful glow throughout the bar and grill. A special mention to Sanum, Chris, Jason and Sarah.

Great breakfast. I commend Victor for his cheerfulness and help. We are able to check in earlier and manage to find the place where Elizabeth Gilbert held her talk that day. Bar also allow us to have a quick drink before it closes.

We arrived late and tired after several delays on Thursday 4th we were greeted by Laurentiu, who checked us in quickly with a smile. He was very attentive, welcoming, and genuinely interested in hearing about our planned adventures in London. Nothing was too much for him. Our room was spectacular overlooking the park, very spacious and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and Jason was friendly and keen to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back on our next adventure to London. The hotel is situated with easy access to all tourist attractions. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Had some great cocktails and was wonderfully looked after by Victor, front of house and the bar staff. Restaurant, bar and hotel will be where I stay next time I'm in London.

A perfect afternoon with my sister for some drinks with a chilled relaxed vibe, served the best cocktails by Chris, who made our experience all the better, thank-you, we will be back.

I had the chance to try the Chez Mal brasserie as one friends of mine was staying in here and I have to give my appreciation for the chef that made my black Ben burger. The food was great, I’ve never tasted a better burger and went over my expectation. My friend had calamari and beef burger and I can hear her enjoying her food as well. The mojito was excellent and her Rasberry mock tail tasted so good I wanted to try one as well. James, Sharif and the chef (not use if called Sam or Lopez), did excellent. James was quick to take the order and recommend the drinks! Will come back

I received excellent service at breakfast at The Malmaison from Ahmed. He was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. A great way to start the day - I would definitely recommend!

This spot is a hidden gem in the lovely Charterhouse Square. I went there with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food tasted and the welcome received. The host at the desk with pink hair recommended various plates, among which the rib eye steak and the mushrooms were a delight. The cocktails were well made, I can recommend the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini and the Butter Spice Old Fashioned. Chris and Sarah were super kind and helpful with the food choices. 100% must try

Went for steak dinner with a friend and had an excellent time. The food was delicious, in particular the fried corn ribs, ribeye and the toffee apple sundae. The service was also really good, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, recommending our dessert and preparing our expresso martini’s ready for our post meal chill in the bar. Big thanks to Sarah and Chris. Highly recommended.

We had dinner included in our deal with the hotel. The food was good quality brasserie food but the highlight was the service! What lovely people, shout-out to Chris, Christian and Jock for making our evening so pleasant!

Very good breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries and hot food - salmon and eggs was spot on. Ahmed helpful and polite.

Had breakfast here during my stay and the staff provided excellent customer service especially Ahmed. The food was delicious and you had a variety of options which was great. The ambiance was beautifully decorated and very inviting.

This is the best hotel in London. Beautiful place. Wonderful staff. Perfect in every way. Food in the restaurants delicious. Abasse, Jason, and Remo were particularly fabulous servers. I will be back many times.

My daughter and I had a lovely Sunday lunch here recently, we had a Wowcher voucher. The food was so good, there was unlimited hors doeuvres, the choices were just incredible, they were all so delicious. I had roast beef and my daughter had hamburger and again the quality of the food was brilliant and the portions were very generous too. The puddings were wonderful too. The place was so nice, comfortable and the atmosphere was lovely and relax. The service was amazing, the staff are all friendly and professional. I would like to say a big thank you to Silvia, Remo, Camilla, Chris, Florin and everyone who works in the kitchen for giving such a wonderful time and looking after us so well. We will definitely come back, even without a voucher as the value is so good. Will recommend this lovely place to friends and family.

So close to Barbican station you could walk straight past it if you weren't looking, the restaurant is located within the Malmaison Hotel. Access to the downstairs restaurant can be made either by the staircase to the left of the entrance or the lift at the rear of the hotel. I had bought a Wowcher deal for 2 for Sunday lunch with unlimited entrees so took my Mum for an early Mothers Day treat. We were greeted by a very friendly host and even though we were almost half an hour early, we were seated straght away in a large, very comfortable booth. Staff were attentive and helpful without hovering or being pushy. The selection of entrees was fantastic (especially for fish lovers like my Mother) and you could go up as many times as you wanted. We both decided on the sirloin for our main, which was a lovely cut with a good selection of vegetables and a giant yorkshire pudding, we also got extra gravy on the side without having to ask for it. They also have a good wine selection, which is reasonably priced for Central London. A very enjoyable experience, which I would definitely go back for again.

Visited this restaurant today with my husband. We had a Wowcher voucher which kept the price down but to be honest I would go there again without the voucher as it is not an expensive restaurant, and the food is very good. We weren't too sure what to expect as we had never been there before. The staff were friendly and professional from the time we arrived to the time we left. They were friendly but not over friendly which was nice as it allowed us to enjoy our food. The food is really nice whether you eat meat or not as the selection is varied. So I can go there with my vegetarian friends or others. Sunday lunch cost £20 per person and you have to pay for the dessert but that's only £3.50. So we paid for our drinks and dessert as we had the voucher which covered 2 people. Definitely recommend it. The atmosphere is nice, clean toilets which are always a bonus, and I like the decor.

having been here before and enjoyed it we came back expecting the very same service again however that did not happen. We had a booking and was placed at a small table very close to other diners when there was other tables available. When requesting another table we were told they were all booked and this was the only table available. Having observed the tables during our lunch it became clear that one of them was never booked and was in the end offered to hotel guests who had not booked prior. We opted for bottomless bubbles with our lunch and gosh the service was so slow, took at least 15 mins for the first glass to arrive and several times we had to remind them to fill our glasses up, really shabby service. Towards the end the waiter casually informed us to get our last top up before our time was due to finish and this was 25 minutes ahead of our 2 hour time limit!! Upon complaining we got what we were paying for but it was not given to us gracefully at all and the overall experience is not one that I would recommend nor would I ever pay for it again. This is just a hotel restaurant and should be avoided if you desire genuine service and good value for money.

This was at least our 12th group visit to Chez Mal over the course of about 8 years. This time we went for our daughter's 9th birthday and had the Sunday brunch. It is always great value and the buffet starters in particular never disappoint. Unusually, we had to send the cod back as the butterbeans were undercooked, but we had them replaced, extra vegetables brought to the table and a dessert brought free of charge. We thought that this was great service in itself, until the staff brought out the most beautiful cake, covered in buttercream and topped with chocolates and fresh fruit, singing Happy Birthday to our daughter. We had brought a '9' candle, hoping they could pop it in her dessert, and to our surprise (and our daughter's sheer delight), they came out with this spectacular cake. Thank you to all at Chez Mal for making this a very special occasion. We will certainly be coming back...

We ate here a s group of 4 friends on a Sunday lunchtime. The food was excellent.Starter; this was an all you can eat type buffet of starters and it was excellent, breads, cold meat selection, wings, salads, prawns etc. Absolutely delicious.Main course and desert as a set dish from a menu, but again delicious; we had the steak and it was really well cooked. It is really close to the Barbican, and being in the City (rather than the West End or near to the river or similar) meant that there was not that much else to see or do near by. Nevertheless, well worth a vist.

Mi madre había venido de Canadá para su cumpleaños, así que decidí invitarla a tomar un té de ginebra por la tarde.Qué experiencia tan maravillosa con un gran cóctel de ginebra para empezar.Sandwiches, pasteles y bollos (mi favorito personal) estaban deliciosos.Nuestro camarero fue extremadamente profesional y encantador.Incluso nos trajeron una hermosa tarta de chocolate con una vela para el cumpleaños de mi madre y algunos miembros del equipo del restaurante nos desearon un feliz cumpleaños.Mi madre ha tomado muchas meriendas y dijo que el Malmaison London era, con mucho, su favorito con respecto a la comida y el servicio.Definitivamente visitaré de nuevo! !

Tuvimos el almuerzo del domingo y tengo que decir que fue muy agradable. Nos alojamos por 2 noches para nuestro aniversario de boda. El viernes apareció en el bar para 'Gracias Mal es viernes' 5 - 8 pm. Anunciado como canapés como alas y aranchini servidos, nada salió en los 30 minutos que nos sentamos allí desde las 7. 30 pm. En cambio, recibimos algunas nueces. El joven muchacho detrás de la barra era lo suficientemente agradable, pero realmente no tenía ni idea, ya que no sabía a qué me refería cuando pedía un zafiro bombay del menú TMiF. Cenamos en el restaurante y me decepcionó. Los aros de cebolla compartidos estaban fríos. Los platos principales están bien, risotto de cangrejo parecía tener muy poco cangrejo. La esposa del caldo de mariscos disfrutó pero me pareció que faltaba un poco.Luego tuvimos el brunch del domingo. Hemos tenido brunch en Newcastle y Leeds Chez Mal, así como en Londres anteriormente. Finalmente pagamos nuestra factura, otro miembro del personal tomó el pago y parecía un poco confundido cuando solicité que se quitara el cargo por servicio. Personalmente, creo que es grosero comenzar con uno. Sin embargo, siempre daré una buena propina, especialmente alrededor de Navidad, ya que sé lo que es confiar en las propinas. Serena provided excellent service and she's very friendly, I would like to add her service is not in relation to my score. The food was disappointing, my gammon was dry and my friends chicken was too but they did cater well for my intolerances. The drinks on the brunch menu had changed so its only procesco and beer now.

At our arrival, we were welcomed by Remo at the bar and his delicious cocktails. Then we had dinner in the restaurant, where Chris took great care of us.We choose the promotion Taste of Argentina. The steaks were delicious !! It was a really delightful evening.

Had a meal here before going to a concert round the corner. The food was fine and good value with the set menu. What was particularly good was our waitress Mathilde.

We had a lovely stay here this weekend. The hotel was excellent. Well located, brilliant facilities and comfortable and stylish surroundings. The bar was a hidden gem. Very cosy with stylish decor ideal for an intimate drink. The cocktails were a real triumph. The mixologist, Jason, made us some if the best cocktails I've ever tasted and the friendly service was brilliant. I would definitely recommend this place for a special date night.

We discovered this restaurant about six months before the east London/Essex contingent arrived and totally ruined it.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening spent with friends over a meal and drinks. The restaurant has a great ambience and the menu has something to suit all tastes. The food was perfect - beautifully presented, hot and of very high quality. Great service too - very attentive.

This must have been hands down the best Sunday roast experience we have had. I arranged this as a birthday surprise for my husband and all the staff, in particular Serena Diliberto who could not have been more welcoming and customer care focused. Food offerings are amazing and every last bit of food served is fresh and really inviting. If you go on a Sunday you can have the chefs table filled with gourmet salads, charcuterie, salmon and other delicious bits and trips to this is unlimited. Be careful not to stuff yourself before the main event which for us was the scrumptious roast. We added bottomless bubbles to our afternoon and it really is value for money on every level. We were treated so well here and when leaving it felt like leaving a friends house. We salute Serena for her wonderful people skills and beautiful smile and my heartfelt thanks for making our afternoon so special.

Review of restaurant only: not hotel. Unusual in the sense that the waiters at the restaurant appear to have a certain standard which in some circumstances is absolutely appropriate, and others might come off slightly off putting.

Sunday lunch in the city. This place should be on the list to visit. £19.95 for two courses (roast an option) in lovely surroundings. Food was excellent (chef’s table a particular favourite) and the staff friendly and efficient. Joe deserves particular credit for his attentive service.

Visité aquí con la familia en un sábado por la noche, muy tranquilo! El camarero era educado y cortés, y se sentía cómodo. Hay mucho para elegir en el menú y una buena lista de vinos. Pedimos vieiras y chorizo como entrante, bastante agradable pero una porción bastante modesta. La parte principal del cordero era agradable, diferentes cortes bien cocidos, la única queja es la necesidad de ordenar los lados de cada plato.

Estoy horrorizado, esperaba mucho más de este lugar. Llegué a la 1:30 pm de un sábado, y aunque el lugar estaba casi vacío, recibí un servicio espantoso.

Fui a Chez Mal para los entremeses ilimitados del brunch del domingo y definitivamente no me decepcionó. Había una selección masiva y una variedad de entrantes que incluían rollos de salchichas, samosas, alitas de pollo, ensaladas, pan y más. Estos eran abundantes y apetitosos. Optamos por el prosecco sin fondo y nuestras gafas nunca estaban vacías y nunca tuvimos que pedir que las rellenaran, el personal fue muy atento. Los platos principales y postres también eran abundantes porciones y delicioso. Es una pena que este brunch no sea más conocido, ya que tiene una gran relación calidad-precio. Se lo recomendaré a mis amigos.

Celebrated my 40th with friends and had the Sunday brunch. The service was fantastic and the food was lovely.

We stayed at the Malmaison on a ‘Sunday Stopover’ deal so we dined in the restaurant and I would say we’ve eaten here 3 or 4 times in the last 8 months. However on no previous occasion have we had to wait over an hour for the one course we ordered and for the waiting staff to get one of the (two) dishes entirely wrong! Cue a further wait of 20 mins! Then, on ordering Affogato for dessert a further 40 minute wait ensued.

My husband and I went for the gin cocktail afternoon tea as a result of a buy-a-gift voucher. The restaurant (also a hotel) is in a pleasant location in London, near Barbican station and nearby Charterhouse Square/Charterhouse Museum (known as The Charterhouse). The restaurant itself is downstairs so it's a bit gloomy. We had an individual booth which had the advantage of being private, but also a bit lacking in atmosphere. We were served with the drinks first - the gin cocktail and tea (lots of varieties to choose from) - I thought it was a bit odd to serve both at once! The actual food was very good and not the usual afternoon tea fayre. We had a chicken breadcrumbed slider, an egg mayonnaise roll and a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. For desserts there were various cakes and a berry milkshake and a scone with jam and cream. The cream was not clotted but very light - not sure about this! We were offered more tea - liked that. At the end, we were asked if everything was okay, which was rather late. But it didn't matter as everything was fine. It was definitely a better than average afternoon tea. Oh, and they gave us a cake box with our left-overs to take home - very nice! As we entered, the waiter asked about any special dietary requirements - I liked that.

I’ve eaten here several times, the food has always been excellent. High quality for the price and creatively designed.

What can I say the food was amazing so good in fact the missus didn't even get her usual photo as it looked and tasted too good. The staff where really good always making sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely recommend the London Malmaison.

Restaurant practically empty. Not busy. So surprised that the Service is so incredibly slow from waiting to be seated to waiting to order courses. And the empty dishes taken from the table left just behind us for ages . No salt and pepper or butter out anywhere.

Surprised by how good an experience this was.

My partner and I were set to spend a day at the Barbican in London for our anniversary and after a long decision making process, booked online to eat at Chez Mal. When it came to the day of our actual visit, at 12:15 just over an hour before our booking, I was called and told that they were in fact closed and my booking could be moved to the next day! I was on the train at the time so was unable to express my anger, but the person talking to me could only offer to change my reservation to the next day!

This hotel is tucked away, near the Barbican area. The restaurant Chez Mal is downstairs and is a lovely setting. The food is lovely and the service is very friendly.

My wife and I are on our honeymoon. We are staying in the hotel and were hesitant to go to Chez Mel but we are SO glad we decided to go.

El restaurante está decorado con muy buen gusto y todo el personal es maravilloso, sin embargo debo agradecer especialmente a nuestro camarero Emanuele que fue simplemente increíble. We had a lovely meal at Chez Mal on Sunday, to celebrate my husband’s retirement. The food was delicious and the staff, Cali and Lakshmi, looked after us in a very friendly, but professional manner. We’ll definitely be back!

Fui para el almuerzo del domingo. La mesa del chef era increíble. Tanta elección. Fresco y delicioso. Tuve cordero para el plato principal y mi marido tenía bacalao, ambos eran maravillosos. Luego tuvimos queso y galletas y pudín de chocolate. Fue el almuerzo perfecto. La atención que recibimos de Emmuele fue ejemplar. Una tarde perfecta.

La comida fue cocinada a la perfección, el flan era increíble! Solo 2 cosas que podrían haberse mejorado, se estaba congelando allí. ¡Desearía haber empacado un jersey! Y también el personal fue un poco menos atento, no es que yo espere que estén a mi entera disposición, pero estaba tranquilo y tardó un poco en recibir la factura. De lo contrario, fue una comida increíble!

We were advised by Lashmi who had first hand knowledge of the menu and could make genuine recommendations. Her sheer enthusiasm was uplifting. We had an excellent meal.

Food was great and the location stunning: such a warm atmosphere. Me and my father were served by two Italian waiters, Emanuele and Federica, which recommended us very tasty dishes with matched wines. I took scallop risotto, which was perfectly cooked and savory. Everything was absolutely great.

We had a great weekend celebrating a hen do which started with a private dining experience and then bridal shower afternoon tea the next morning. The weekend was organised with the help of Betty Orlandini, who gave the room options based on expected numbers and menus based on budget. Despite being on leave on the weekend of the event she ensured that everything was organised and handed over to her colleagues. Jason our waiter was excellent in his role, assisting with the set up of the rooms on both days, maintaining constant communication with us and the kitchen, ensuring everyone got their correct meal choices, providing hot water for the baby bottles (very important) and also joining in with the banter. We had access to two very good sizes rooms for our number of guests, A/C, smart TV and background music. Overall it was a great weekend and experience.

Dined here alone one week night, and I have to say it was pretty good. Not sure I would describe it as very good, it’s another time when Tripadvisors ratings puzzle me. It wasn’t a 5 blob excellent, it wasn’t a 3 blob average, it was a 4 blob ‘good’. Still baffles me why they have ‘very good’ as 4 blobs.

This is the restaurant in the Malmaison London hotel. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. However when we ordered the house wine, they didn’t have it. The waiter kindly replaced it with a more expensive bottle. I ordered fillet steak. Thy didn’t have it! My husband ordered tuna. They didn’t have it! I then ordered mussels and they didn’t have that either. We ended up having burgers which neither of us wanted! The staff were very apologetic and embarrassed. However it wasn’t their fault. It was very disappointing for a restaurant of this calibre. They also forgot to take off the 20% resident’s discount. The bill then came to £65 for a meal neither of us enjoyed.

We stayed for one night - what a superb spot and with fantastic staff. From arriving late on a Sunday evening - all we wanted to do was eat and chill. Our dog Alberts first visit to a hotel and to London and we were all a little unsure on how he would react. The staff at the hotel were brilliant and ended in a stress free stay for him and all of us. Great sized comfortable room - good food for evening meal in the room and superb breakfast for all of us!!

Sono andata al ristorante tramite una promozione tastecard per una cena di lavoro (gruppo da 10 persone) ed il cibo e' stato veramente ottimo. I miei ospiti dalla Cina sono stati molto contenti, ma soprattutto lo staff del ristorante (Betty, per la prenotazione ed Emanuele in sala) ci ha accontentato sotto tutti gli aspetti. Unico puno negativo e' che il menu' ha pochissime o nessuna opzione vegana.

8 de nosotros nos alojamos en el hotel por tres noches y nos pareció excelente, así que teníamos ganas de comer aquí en nuestra última noche. Habíamos tenido un buen desayuno el día antes, pero Oh cielos, qué decepción nuestra cena fue. El servicio fue bueno, pero por desgracia había algo de la barrera del idioma entre nosotros y los dos servidores. Esto condujo a varios retrasos y malentendidos, pero el problema real era la comida. Sólo dos de nosotros tuvimos entrantes. Mi hígado de pollo mousse era precioso, pero sopa de verduras de primavera de mi pareja era poco más que una selección de verduras cortadas en un caldo aguado, insípido, falta en cada sentido. Nuestros platos principales eran particularmente pobres. Dos de nosotros tuvimos pollo (uno descrito como Cumberland y uno como milaneses) la diferencia es uno era mariposas y sencillas, las otras mariposas y empanadas. Ambos, terriblemente seco y sin sabor. El filete de bacalao rebozado parecía, pero en un brioche bin - ninguna señal de los guisantes prometieron y no son de ninguna manera cerca de la descripción en el menú! Más extraño. Los postres estaban bien. Vinos estaban bien, pero caro y 5 libras por una botella de agua, totalmente más allá de la clara. Comimos fuera para el desayuno, el almuerzo de 3 x 3 x 3 x y cena y por desgracia, este era el más pobre de todas nuestras experiencias, aunque lejos de la más barata. Este restaurante let's en un excelente hotel.

Llegamos al restaurante que estaba muy tranquilo. Optamos por la comida. Entrantes estaban bien normal salmón ahumado, embutidos, ensaladas, etc. Pedimos todo el pollo asado que nos dijeron y estaba anunciado para ser servida toda en la mesa. Nos registramos este doble era cuando llegó era dos mitades de pollo que parecía que había sido superficial. Fueron muy claros en color y realmente parecía apetitosa. Las verduras estaban servidos por separado y estaban cubiertas en un glaseado dulce. Decidimos no comer y dije al camarero que hizo lo mejor, pero no miembro senior del personal que era irritante llegó y no buenas relaciones con los clientes.

Visitamos Chez Mal este domingo de Pascua nuestros sentidos ligeramente aturdidos de las campanas y los olores de un servicio en la calle. Bartolomé El genial. Detrás de una fachada victoriana Grand es un sótano bastante para nada ostentoso concreto accede al escalones de metal, que hace sentir como si estuvieran en el lugar equivocado y volver al frente. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida en las inmediaciones de algunas luces de neón y llevaron a una banqueta en una zona central bajo luces amarradas en todas las direcciones en Largo da negro desde un único punto. Hay una oferta almuerzo de domingo que impliquen un viaje a un buffet autoservicio entrante en una habitación contigua, un plato de sopa (tienes que pedir), una selección de un principal o asado los domingos, una selección de unos tres postres. El buffet como una mesa generosa de carnes frías, quesos, langostinos, ensaladas de pasta, e incluso una variante a la especie de buffet de desayuno que se podría esperar en un hotel metropolitano. Problema es que si estás demasiado tentados por el buffet que deja espacio suficiente para cualquier otra cosa, incluyendo todo el pollo asado gressingham mi esposa y yo pedimos para compartir, pero que venía como dos medias raciones de pollo. Puede ser porque estábamos ya bastante lleno no mucho disfrutar de los 2 gigantes piezas de pollo aunque no parece cada vez sosa, mientras que algunas judias verdes entre patatas zanahorias asado y Patacas Chirivías parecía un poco picante. Salchichas y puré de vino para mi hija de un menú a la medida de los niños. Quizás lo mejor de todo eran los postres de pudin y un gran plato de crema brûlée. Mi hija tomó la casa un huevo de pascua. El servicio era amable, pero a veces lento.

Reservamos una mesa ya que estaban alojados en el hotel. Nos dijeron que era un menú brunch de Pascua y expertamente atendidos por Salvatore y Dario. Hicieron que nuestra experiencia divertida y nos experto buenos consejos sobre lo que las opciones de alimentos para elegir. Qué fabuloso servicio y también tomó nota de mi cumpleaños y me dieron un pastel de chocolate como una sorpresa fabulosa del equipo! Sin duda volveremos! ! ! !

A great place for a family meal or after work drinks, staff are attentive and food is always wonderful, however upon our last visit in March we were kept waiting for some considerable time for our drinks, the waiter offered bread and olives as an apology which was a nice touch, however at the end of what was another great night the bread and olives were added to our final bill...oops! Will always return here as the food is Awesome!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal on Friday night, Cali, our waiter was great help and i had a lovely meal based on his suggestions.

As part of the Sunday night stopover at the Mal hotel, the meal we had was lovely. Fillet steak and chips for me, scallop risotto for my partner and they were both delicious. Our waiter (sorry - didn't get his name) was brilliant

Enjoyed a full three couses at Chez Mal and very nice it was too. My thanks to maitre d' Federica for looking after me (who was attentive without being overly fussy). There was a really nice choice of food on offer and I ordered from the a la carte menu which was very reasonably priced. I enjoyed each course and could see that people around me were enjoying their meals also, which is always a good sign.

I booked a booth for my two daughters, myself and my partner. When we arrived the booth hadn't been put in the booking form but the head waiter, Dario made it all possible effortlessly and offered me a number of places where we could sit. The food, service, atmosphere were excellent. We could not wish for a better place to celebrate my birthday. My party were all made to feel very, very welcome. I would not only recommend Malmaison restaurant to friends and relatives but I will also keep going back there again and again! Dario - you and your team are all professionals and I love you!!! Yo y mi equipo tuvimos una cena genial tarde de Navidad en una habitación privada. La habitación era elegante y relajado. La comida era deliciosa, el servicio atento y alegre y que sin duda esperamos volver algún día. Gracias a Rachel para organizar nuestra noche.

El personal se olvidó de nuestra primera bebidas y tuvimos que pedir para ellos después de 15 / 20 minutos y nuestra tabla de quesos postre tardó 20 minutos en llegar! La espera por la comida fue largo. El personal se disculpó y nos dieron bebidas gratis y la comida en sí era increíble! También nos dieron dos vasos de prosecco gratis.

Had a fantastic meal at Chez Mal last night with my partner. My partners steak was apparently incredible although my mushroom burger was quite dry, and the vegan options weren't vast. But that didn't really matter as the wine recommended by our waitor, Marco was lovely and the service provided by him was exemplary.

Thank you so much to the entire team at Chez Mal! Dario was fantastic. I cannot fault the service, they genuinely couldn't do enough for us - and the food was DELICIOUS!

Called in without booking for a Gourmet Card discount and offered A l'Carte which appears 50% more than the standard menu. House wine OK nothing special. Steak Frite a little over cooked for medium rare and too much salt on the chips, fish cake OK. Price approx £35 each before discount which is quite steep for one course but acceptable in this part of town. Nothing special, atmosphere OK. Reasonable meal but staff not particularly interested and busy. We did not linger and went else where to enjoy the evening.

We visited the Chez Mal bar twice, and restaurant once during our stay at the Malmaison hotel. The bar staff were friendly, knowledgable about the drinks and helpful with recommendations. I was particularly impressed that a London bar served my favourite Slingsbys Harrogate gin from Yorkshire. This theme was continued when we dined in the restaurant, the service was excellent, especially by Fredericka, who was very welcoming and a exceptional host, nothing was too much hassle and a smile on her face the entire time. The servers were there when you needed them, but also refrained from interrupting you whilst eating. The manager of the restaurant checked in on us, which was also a nice touch. The food from the A la Carter menu was very tasty, arrived in good time, and was hot on arrival. I would definitely dine here again. Many thanks to everyone who made our evenings at the Chez Mal, and stay at the Malmaison Hotel excellent.

Wow! What a fantastic meal! I cannot recommend Chez Mal highly enough! Everything from the absolutely delicious food prepared by Chef Christophe to the attentiveness of its staff was faultless. Particular thanks to the manager Hamid and staff members Monica, Ben (brilliant bartender!) and Jason for making my Mother’s birthday such a truly unforgettable experience. Nothing was too much trouble! I shall certainly eat there again and would encourage anyone thinking of doing so to just do it and see for yourself.

Considering the restaurant was half empty on a Wednesday afternoon in December the service for a group of 5 People having the festive meal was awful. We waited ages for any menus to arrive, ages to order drink and ages to get the bill and then pay. The bill also included drinks that were free with the festive meal we choose. Also a pet hate of mine is a waiter clearing the table when half the diners are still eating! Overall not impressed and wouldn’t recommend.

Todo aquí era increíble - el personal y la comida, por supuesto. Disfruté el aperitivo pero debo decir que, en la medida en que el plato principal va, esta fue la mejor carne que he comido y, sinceramente, mi boca es llorar de pensarlo ahora. Teníamos familia y amigos con nosotros para mi cumpleaños 60 hace 10 años, por lo que hacer los cálculos era mi 70th. Esta vez había nietos e inevitablemente algunos amigos ausentes. La comida era buena y el jefe funcionaba como un troyano para que nuestra visita sea agradable, pero ah cómo él fue decepcionado por su juego tímido de camareros que tardó 20 minutos y repetidas peticiones sólo para conseguir medio vaso de agua, para no mencionar las jarras pedimos pedimos. Todo lo que puedo decir es que se relacionaban muy bien con los otros, pero casi nunca con sus clientes. Como he dicho el jefe salvó el día y la tarde hizo agradable.

I booked an afternoon tea at a 'book a table' type service. When we arrived at the Mal restaurant they didnt have our booking. There were hardly any other people there but they said (after some time) we could still have tea. But it would take 20-25 mins. FineWe waited 25 mins, didnt see anyone serving to order drinks. They eventually brought sandwiches and the server seemed confused when I asked to order tea (at an afternoon tea). He did bring the tea (no milk or sugar) which I had to find someone to ask for. No jasmin tea (on the menu) available, only breakfast or green tea.The menu listed the cakes we would be getting. 2 of the chocolate type cakes were swapped for 1 fruit cake which was disappointing. When we were asked if everything was ok we said no, it was poor. We didnt have milk or sugar, or even table water. Tea wasnt refilled. Couldnt find anyone to ask for more tea. I dont think they would have even noticed if we walked out without paying. I appreciate they were not expecting us but service was awful. I would have done a better job on day 1. Afternoon tea should be one of the easiest things to get right. You offer tea then a pre paid assortment of food then a bill, maybe some tap water. That's it. We left underwhelmed and still hungry. We were offered a glass of prosecco and a small beer but really would have just prefered a proper tea.

Booked for a great deal on a nights accommodation and dinner. Room and hotel was lovely. Got delayed arriving and having checked in, went down for dinner. The greeting from the manager was “You’re late”. Then after being escorted to our table - the specials were barked at us.The food itself was alright although the menu was a little lack lustre. The service was generally slow and had to be prompted - i find people asking you how your dinner is (especially when it was again barked at us) acceptable when service is warm but efficient; when it is cold and slow it just winds me up.I have stayed and eaten in a few other Malmaisons and the experience was far better. I would mark this place down as a hotel restaurant- fine for large groups but nothings else.

Great food, good quality, reasonably priced, excellent service and helpful staff. Roast potatoes exquisite!

We had the voucher for 4 people.The starters were disappointing,chicken wings,only 4 left and kitchen was not making any more.Cole slaw was at the end and no more was brought out.There were only two small pieces of cheese on the board and we were 4 so not enough...Main meal 3 burgers were good,one plain was very plain asked for no lettuce,so I guess that meant leave out the tomato pickle that were on the other burgers.Some one had the pasta,which I was told was dry and not tasty.The soup was tasty.And desserts were good,beter than the mains,Now plates were not cleared off the table in a timely manner,and service was slow.No one asked us if we were enjoying our meal.

This is my third time that I have come to this restaurant and today the service was fantastic. Dario the waiter was very welcoming and generous he promptly filled the glasses and brought the courses without waiting too long. He was generous with dessert although we were full up by then.

This was my 3rd visit to a ChezMal restaurant. I love their choice of steaks, always great quality and with really well done sides. The wine list is very good too.

I feel the level has gone down from the Malmaison restaurants of yesteryear. Still stylish surroundings, but average food at best now. Friendly but not so professional or knowledgeable service. A pity compared to the quality of a few years ago. I hope they can regroup and move up again.

I am really not joking when I say this is one of the best lunches I have ever had.From the choice and quality to the expertise and friendliness of the staff I have never enjoyed a leisurely lunch quite so much. My family,friends and I were made to feel so welcome from start to finish. And we actually stayed there from 1300-1730 such was the fun we were having.For a mere £24.95 you have the run of the chef's table and a choice of a main course and a dessert.I can highly recommend the Sunday roast (chicken or beef) and the yorkshire pudding was amazing.Chez Mal Hot Chocolate (which sounds like a drink but isn't) is a fantastic pudding.Kids can get all this for only £10.Unlimited prosecco was only £15 and our glasses were regularly topped up without prompting.Don't want to come across as a broken record but I cannot recommend the Sunday Lunch deal at Malmaison highly enough. You cannot and will not be disappointed.

14 of us enjoyed a fabulous brunch last Sunday. Some of us had Prosecco and some did not. For those who did have prosecco the glasses were refilled promptly. The service overall was fantastic, particularly Emmanuel who was very attentive to our group. The food was very good particularly the buffet which had a great selection of really fresh produce. Would definitely do it again!

I went to Chez Mal with my children for a birthday treat. The lunch was fantastic and plentiful. We all had the roast beef for our main course, and the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. The hor d'oeuves are laid out and you can go back and help yourself as many time as you wish. As my son eats a lot, this was perfect for him.The drinks were reasonably priced too, which made the whole experience good value for money. I would definitely go back again. You are also in private booths which is fun if you want to chat as we did.

We treated our family to Sunday Lunch to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary at this establishment recently and were not disappointed. The reception and fare were absolutely outstanding. The 4 course lunch included starter, buffet, main course and dessert. Every course was superb and we all enjoyed our choices. The house wines were very smooth too and it rounded off a truly wonderful day We can't wait to come back..
