Not a good experience. I feel ripped off and cheated. First the positive: The woman was very knowledgeable about the menu and what was gluten free (there are two gluten free options). Now the bad: the meat was terribly spicy and unpalatable. It tasted strongly of chili and I knew it was going to ruin my stomach. I ended up throwing it all out and what a waste of 7.5 pounds (this hurts on my student budget). I informed the staff that the meal was horrible and too spicy for me but they didn’t do anything. Luckily there was a Sainsburys not far away so I could find something else to eat. I recommend skipping this place.

I miss the amazing flavours and taste of the Nusa soups. They really are great and you get a piece of nice bread to go with it. The larger size is great for a soup lunch. It is pricey but for the location and quality it’s decent and you get a lot worse food for more in that area!If you fancy a rice box I quite like the beef rendang here which is a decent portion, good quality beef, with a nice dressing that goes with the side salad.FYI: The Cannon Street shop has a strange queuing system usually (rice boxes separate from soup queue but it’s too tight and gets confusing to folks who have no idea and just see a queue out the door).Hoping to have a soup here again soon!

Having visited the Bank branch for a number of years, I have noticed the small yet subtle changes to their food. The latest change however has made me stopped going to Nusa completely. The rice boxes used to be packed full with beef or chicken and rice with a perfectly sized portion of side salad. Now the side salad is the main feature, taking up half the box and the beef or chicken and rice in considerably smaller quantities. And yet the price remains the same. Shame on Nusa! I'll quite happily pay the £6-£7 they charge for their rice boxes, but not for a box of dry salad.

My review refers to the Nusa Kitchen, located on Cannon Street. I regularly get both breakfast and lunch from this place, and find it's hard to beat for fantastic take-away food in the area. It knocks the socks off your more generic chains, which can be found in the area. They produce fantastic flavours in their soups, salads, and hot boxes - it tastes like it's all cooked and prepared freshly, but without being part of a massive production line. They also do fantastic, tasty bircher muesli which I regularly get for breakfast. Fast, friendly and efficient staff - it's a real gem, amongst homogenous outlets throughout the city.

I used to visit the Cannon Street branch from time to time as the food often tasted nice. It is quite a distance from my office and is expensive for what you get, but I would occasionally visit to treat myself.Recently I visited and ordered their beef rendang meal. I was having a late lunch so the store was quiet and I was the only customer. The lady serving took my order and I was given the boxed up meal some minutes later which I took back to my office. I was really looking forward to the meal once back in my office dining area. However I was shocked and very disappointed to see the contents of a cheaper chicken meal inside the box once I sat down and opened it. I was not keen on eating chicken plus I had specifically paid for the beef rendang which was more expensive so had to take the long trip back to the shop in the rain.On returning to the shop I explained their error to the same lady who served me. She offered me the (correct) beef rendang meal or a refund but showed very little concern for the fact that it was their mistake had completely wasted my time and lunch break. Despite my protests she never hinted at any form of compensation... She even had the audacity to suggest I take my lunch break again later, despite it now being after 3pm!In the end I took the refund because my lunch break was gone and I had to return to my office.I don't usually write reviews and am not malicious but I was extremely disappointed with the level of service and lack of respect and empathy shown.I will definitely not be visiting Nusa Kitchen ever again nor will I be recommending them after such a horrible experience.

I regularly visit the branch in Adams Court and have never been disappointed with my lunch here. The soup menu is changed each week and the recipes are extremely tasty. Typically there are two meat, a chicken, a fish and four vegetarian choices including vegan options, so a good range. Many of the recipes are inspired by Asian cuisine, and pleasantly spicy. The jambalaya is particularly fine and worth looking out for. Lots of other food here too, but I have been so taken with the soups that I don't look beyond those. You can ask for a taste before you choose.Often there is a long queue but don't let it put you off, as it only takes a minute or two to reach the front. It can sometimes get a bit confused along the counter but the staff are a friendly bunch. Mainly a take-away although there is a small area to sit inside, with a few more tables outside.

I've been going here regularly because it's in my building and a welcome alternative to Pret. I only go back because I like the Bombay eggs, but I'm finally through with them. For good. I order the same thing every time (bombay eggs, avo, toast, flat white), and EVERY TIME one of the items is missing. They forget my coffee, or my avocado, or my toast on the side. EVERY TIME. 2-3 times i didn't realize until I was back in my office, and have had to go back downstairs to fetch the missing item, and then I started opening the box and checking all the contents are present before leaving. Today, i was almost charged £9 for my breakfast, because they accidentally added items to my bill. And while I was texting about this to my friend, I receive my bag --- with no toast. Again. I think its 13 strikes and you're out, right? And the coffee sucks. Over roasted and bitter.

This is a chain of three - and i have been many times to the other twin Cannon Street and off Old Broad Street in the city. There is room to eat one's soup that is of a hot, rich and spicy Singapore style. It is always filling but also the best on most looked-forward-to food that I eat from one month to the next. I have introduced several people to the soup - who also rave about it. Always leave wanting more, and always enjoy whatever flavour I try. Recommend the chick pea, the black bean, the lentil, prawn soups etc. They all have much more complex names than this though. The queues are always long (which says something), but they move fast and are well-worth queuing for.And one can try soups too at the counter. The bread could be better - or warmed - but this does not detract from the excellent soups. I always have all the toppings whether it is coriander, chilli flakes and creme-fraisse - or tortillas and avocado in one of the bean soups. They do other food, but the soup is the centre-piece and frankly, I am blind to anything else there. Over the last year or two the prices have risen significantly: but it is still worth it and at the current prices, they are still bringing large numbers through the doors even with better and faster serving from multiple soup pots.

The vegi lemak was poor - omelette with rice and some bits of dried anchovie and peanuts - there wasn't a samabal curry sauce, but a pot of samabal sauce. Have visited twice now having the nasi lemak and then the Szechuan Dan Dan beef. It's good for a quick lunch. The nasi lemak was pretty underwhelming. You had to pour the sauce, peanuts and fish on yourself. I'm assuming they operate like Leon, where all the dishes have the same base (rice + Asian veg)and they chuck on the relevant topping when you order and therefore like with Leon it's means it will always be average. The soup on the other hand was actually really good, decent depth of flavour and generous portions of beef.So all in all a mixed bag. The average price of lunch was around 7 quid and compared to other Asian, Vietnamese places in the area it's pretty average and more expensive.

Fantastic soups, really really nice and good portions too. They don't really do catering well though, tried them for an event through Deliveroo and they forgot the cutlery, etc.But go there without hesitation for a quick lunch.

Have been a usual for the soups they have, nice and tasty, with a menu that changes regularly. Now I tried the rice box, chicken is very good, but the slow cooked beef is amazing . Super soft and tender and great taste, not too spicy. With rice and salad, need to try !

Absolutely perfect pit stop for an office lunch break. This was right around the corner from where I worked, and I would visit most days for soup at lunch time. I was never disappointed. However- watch out for the lunch time rush queues- try visit before or after!

Delicious soup......always hot, big on flavour and when they say it's spicy, it is!Great choice of toppings (creme fraice, coriander and chilli paste). What is also important is the clear nutritional labeling. All too often soups are hiding loads of cream, fat and calories. There are plenty of Nusa options that are below 300 cals per portion - you just need to read the website or the instore nutritional info. The Cannon Street branch runs smoothly so don't be put off by the large queue......it moves quickly.

Went to Cannon Street Nusa Kitchen, moved offices and usually go to the one on Old Broad Street that is lovely. My soup was disgusting, cold and was meant to be beef but was just fat.£5.25 for a horrible soup and piece of bread, awful.

Nusa is normally queued out the door at lunchtime and that says all you need to know when it's surrounded by Pret, Costa, Starbucks and plenty more. Always a good choice of extra tasty filling and satisfying soups that are served with a hunk of bread. There are crisps, drinks, sweets and salad but save them for another day.

Had Nasi Lemak at the Cannon Street branch, tasted horrible compared to the one I had either in Singapore or other Asian restaurant in London. The rice was dry basmati rice with no coconut flavour. No anchovies were given and they used dry meat loaf (a poor effort of fish otah). The sambal chilli is okish (still a poor effort). Not only was it not authentic, it tastes horrible. I have no idea where all these other good reviews comes from, maybe the soup is good which I didn't try. Can't believe I gave up free lunch from my office to try this takeaway, worst decision ever.

Don't be put off by the long queue that makes itself down Cannon Street, it moves fast! When you just want that little bit more than a salad for lunch and saving your calories for the weekend come to Nusa. Fresh Asian inspired food, with varying menus each week. The rice pots are a perfect size to see you through to dinner without the afternoon desk slump! It is very small inside so takeout is recommended

Few choices of vietnamese dishes for take away but very tasty. Becomes very crowded at lunch time. For us ( a group of 5) it took a bit of a wait until everyone had his food.

There's always a queue for this place during lunchtime so never went but after 2 years I decided I must check out what the fuss is all about, I went at 2:15pm to avoid the queues (and managed to get a seat inside) I wasn't too sure about what to get so it was great that they let you sample a little of the soups first! I went with the Chili con carne which I always like and it didn't disappoint, I would have given this place full marks if the bread they gave with the soup was warm (bread was cold) anyway I'm sure I'll visit this place again and try their other options.

Fantastic premium soup for around £5. I've been coming to this place for years. Always queued out the door and always served within 60 seconds. If you are curious try this place. Superb. Not much seating space though - recommend you plan to eat out.

Good soups for a decent price. Optimal during the winter season, but also during an hour day to cooling yourself down.Soups are all gluten free, freshly cooked. The queue is always massive but the human chain they have made works at the best, and even the longest one run fast.

I needed a quick lunch, where I wouldn’t spend too much, but which I felt was good for me and would still really enjoy. Nusa was brilliant. I enjoyed a salmon teriyaki box (approx £6.50 if I remember rightly) which came with a generous portion of qunioa, a delicious salad, teriyaki sauce (in it’s own pot so consumer can put optional amount on), baked salmon (which was flaky and delicious) edamame beans, and tender stem broccoli. A combination of my favourite things.I ate in and enjoyed the views from the floor to ceiling high front window which lets in a lot of light. Colourful interiors mean that staying in to eat is quite pleasant as well, and the high bar stools/tables aren’t as uncomfortable as they might look.Would highly recommend, and would seek out this eating place again.
