We really enjoyed our short visit here, the staff were lovely, the food were all fresh and tasty even the most common meal the breakfast menu was well executed. No wonder this hotel has very good reviews. We had the best breakfast here, easily beats the more expensive hotels we have stayed in the past.
This is my second meal here and it doesn't disappoint at all. I always have the dirty fries and it is a meal on its own. Always fresh and tasty. I also had the chutney tray as you'll see in the pics. Delicious 😋
Had a fabulous meal here with friends after a cold and wet day out on the lake. A small menu but vegetarians are really well catered for, I chose the vegetable lasagne which was delicious. My friends loved their lasagne and burger too; we all agreed the home cooked chips were the nicest we'd had. Really good service by all, especially the young girl who served us initially, but all staff were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return soon
After getting fish & chips opposite the lady advised us to go & have a drink... £2.50 a pint she said. So we went and yes it was £3.90 for a pint & a half! What amazingly great value together with a warm welcome from the barmaid. Sat outside with a glimpse of the sea. Highly recommend.
A great local chippy just a 20-minute walk from the town centre. Popped in one midweek afternoon. Good service and very good fish & chips. Reasonably priced and delicious too! Recommended.
Lovely little cafe off the main street. After a wander round the antique shop we stopped in for a quick bite. Possibly the nicest bacon bap I’ve ever had. The most simplest thing done really well. Coffee and teas were great as well. They had lots of nice looking cakes though didn’t sample any. Importantly it’s dog friendly.
Fantastic high quality and affordable food! The best Indian takeaway in Cwmbran! We’ve visited since they opened and are never disappointed. The quality and flavour are outstanding! Highly recommended
What a great find! You’d never know this was a great Tapas restaurant from the outside, it just looks like a village pub.
Its also a friendly pub so whether you want to eat or just enjoy a beer, its great.
I have to say I went there for breakfast and the staff were lovely even kind enough to let me sister rest for a bit after a tooth extraction. Very kind people
Spotless, vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very professional and courteous. The food was fresh and just delicious. It is extremely affordable, we paid a lot less than we would in comparable venues.
We enjoyed our visit very much and were planning what to have on our return trip!
Outward appearance does not promote the delicious food e.g. fish in homemade batter at £7.50. Very friendly staff and locals. Also does B & B and although we were not staying if the food is indicative I am sure that standards would be high and value for money. Since Covid Tourists tend to stay in Abergavenny thereby missing a atmospheric slice of Welsh history and culture.
