This is the oldest pub in Newport, so it seemed rude not to call in for a drink. I had a half pint of a good hand pulled ale. My partner had a pint of stout. It is worth a visit if you’re interested in traditional beer.

We ordered online and were give a delivery time of 55 minutes later. We phoned 3 times and kept being told it was out for delivery. The food finally arrived 2 and a half hours later. On the final phone call we requested a refund but were told this had to be done online. I cannot see where this is possible via the online system but am not happy to have paid nearly £40 for a meal that arrived at bedtime

Can’t thank the staff here enough, they like to go above and beyond for their customers, they are always very friendly and helpful I can’t thank them enough for making my stay so comfortable. The food is reasonably priced and good portion too. The room was very clean and the beds are super comfy!! Will defo be back again, thank you again for the excellent service!!

The carpet in the dining area is an absolute disgrace and the three staff (2 female and 1 Male) who weere on duty during our visit late afternoon on the 17th October need a dose of happy pills and urgent customer services training. The food was awful and the fish appeared to have been cooked at least twice. Whitbread appear to have lost interest in this establishment and have certainly failed to invest in staff particluarly a chef/cook, decor especially carpets and to update the pictures that are misleading

After several days of hotel breakfast we decided to stop in here on our way out of town. Breakfast was as expected. The portions were large. Service was good. One difference from other breakfast places is you could get a piece of coffee cake instead of toast or biscuit with your meal and it was quite good. I ended up bringing it home because I was already too full after eating the other parts of my meal.

Very cosy little cafe on the A48, 5 mins from Coldra roundabout of M4. Lovely interior, it's larger than it appears from outside. A variety of easy breakfast and lunch snacks. Children's menu too. Generous bacon sandwich on very fresh bread. Latte and pot of tea very good. Would have likely given 5* if not for charging 45p for a mini pot of Tiptree 'brown sauce' for the the bacon sandwiches ... Really? Just get some mini sachets of HP and supply them free. Photos added to show current menus.

Booked a midweek dinner with friends. The restaurant was really busy but well staffed. We had great service from Holly and Christopher on the bar. We all ate from the à la carte menu, however the £25.00 ‘25 year’ celebration set menu looked really great value. A lovely evening in a lovely setting, the ambiance was great.

My family and I visited for dinner this evening, and we were lucky enough to get the last two pies of the day, which were steak and ale. I can ho estly say it was one of the best pies I've ever had, it had loads of beautiful steak in it and the pastry was beautiful. The mash was tasty but I would've liked more of it, but the gravy that game with it was delicious. We also tried 3 of their desserts ( biscoff cheesecake, lemon meringue pie and waffle ) and these were all delicious aswell. The location is lovely with a small childrens play area and seating out the front. The food was very reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly. We will certainly be back again, well done Farmers Arms, keep up the good work.
