Excellent food, friendly staff. A little pricey for a takeaway though

Used to be excellent, but the last three meals I've ordered have had absolutely no flavour... even though I tried different dishes. We choose indian food for the flavour, right? Have they changed their chef? I won't order here again, unfortunately... especially at the prices they charge. I can get better out of a jar 😏

Wrong order turned up over 20mins late called to complain recieved a very abrupt and abusive response so requested refund off just eat DONT EAT HERE

Extensive Indian menu and takeaway service.

Placed order tonight and said 20 minutes for collection and when we turned up meal was ready, always a good meal from here and we ordered 3 meals.

Ordered randomly with a custom order, exceeded expectations, dhansak was spot on! Thanks anytime in the area I will order again

Dear Chillies, I began my shift, on the front lines of covid, full of promise for the night ahead. I had no lunch with me and was in the mood for a curry. I rang your establishment to place an order for collection and enquired about whether you accepted card for payment. You re-assured me that I could pay with card and with it being 2021 I assumed this meant contact-less would be fine. Upon arrival to collect my delicious food I was informed I could not pay with contact-less. I had no card with me and you offered me no help at all, just flat out refusal to serve me. You wasted my time and gave me false hope. This has left me having to wasting my break time to go on a scavenger hunt for food during my 12 hour shift. I suggest you upgrade your systems to get with the timezzzzz. P.S I saw you eating my food.

Won't recommend any one work for them pay isn't the best from a fantastic indian that place has gone down hill via professional and quality of food what happened to this very happy business does look like covid has some sort of impact for their company unfortunately I won't be returning hope they get back on their feet one day it look like a very desperate place that needs a little bit of cheer and support

Have been a regular for a while, they offer some amazing curries & side dishes, I have also found staff to aways offering great suggestions. I have tried a lot of different dishes on the menu

Ordered a meal from these guys using Deliveroo. At collection there was a query with the payment (Deliveroo's problem, not the restaurant's). The proprietor handled the issue with utmost professionalism and honesty, from a customer service point of view you couldn't ask for more. The food was great too. If you order, order direct instead of going through a third party, and support a fine local business.

It was cold, inedible, rice dfinitely not fresh. Sauce utterly tasteless, no heat, raw bombay aloo. This place used to be brilliant. I won't be returning

First time ordering... Food was well cooked and great tasting Ordered lots of different dishes and they were all hot and cooked fresh

When I ordered online it stated the wait would be 90 minutes, the food did not arrive until 3 hours after ordering. During the prolonged wait, I rang the restaurant on 3 occasions, that obviously did not seem to help to speed up the order! On arrival the food was lukewarm, but I feel if I complained to Chillies directly I would not have been heard. This is the second review I have wrote of my experience as the first has been deleted. I wonder how many more bad reviews go this way too? Plenty of other Indians to choose from, stay away.

Ordered on their website last night and was told that it would be 90 minutes, after two phonecalls the food finally arrived after 3 hours! Totally unacceptable. The food itself was not hot and a little salty for my liking. If you are in the NP10 area I recommend the three mughals instead.

Very disappointed. I've ordered from here previously and it was one of the better curries I've had from Newport; however, my order tonight was probably the worst. We ordered a chicken tikka bhuna, 2x naans, pilau rice and chips. The rice and chips were nice as always but the naans had a strange bitter taste, the curry was completely tasteless and the chicken was rubbery. Not sure if it's a change in chef or because it was a Sunday, but we wont order again.

Best takeaway in Newport great food

This isn’t my first choice for an Indian takeaway, but I will choose something from here if my friends or family were ordering from here. The meat quality is always great, but flavour is usually lacking. My family and I had ordered from here not so long ago and the food quality was actually rather pitiful. My dad ordered crispy chicken pakoras, onion bahjis, and tikka masala, madras style. The pakoras were squidgy, the onion bahji felt like it was left for ages, and the chicken tikka was not spicy in the slightest. My brother, dad, and I had all tried it, but it was definitely not spicy. My order was a garlic naan, chicken dhansak extra garlic, and garlic rice. The garlic in my rice was burnt so my rice was ruined, chicken dhansak was actually bland, and my bread had very little garlic on it. The good points of my meal was the chicken being tender. TL;DR, last order came out bad quality, meat good quality, not first choice for takeaway.

To update my review after a while, still an excellent takeaway. Always friendly, always good food. Always good value.

Our favourite Indian so far in Newport. The Chef's specials are consistently very flavourful and the spice ratings actually accurate. I love the Naga chilli, fantastic flavour and really packs a punch. Occasionally the meat (always ordered chicken) is a little rubbery in texture and tastes reheated, hence not leaving a 5* review.

Best in Newport, really friendly owners but most importantly food is great. We previously used the three mughals and this more than matches their quality.

Consistently great - and only 2 minutes walk from the house..

Ordered a curry worth £30 and 45 minutes after ordering it, they rang to say they wouldn't deliver it because I was too far away (4 miles)!! I would of paid extra but they weren't interested in my business! By this time it was too late to order from somewhere else and my birthday was ruined! I have been going here since they opened and spent a fortune but no more. Ive found somewhere better and they do deliver!

Best Indian I've eaten in Newport! Really friendly staff, great customer service and most importantly the curries taste fantastic (not really oily like many are).

Special dishes are simply just fantastic!!
