The Hand Post Tandoori in Newport

I rang the shop to see were my Oder is they said it’s left the shop n it’s on way n I’ve tried ringing them back but no answer my Oder saying it’s been delivered but I ain’t received it n I can’t get hold of shop fora refund n I ain’t happy I’ve been waiting over a hour n now this someone else have had my food not happy

both was spilt every bag was full of curry and oil everywhere

The meal was ok. But some of it was cold. And the chips seemed to warmed up. They were not freshly cooked. Which meant we to put them in the bin.

Great food, delivered hot n fresh. Tad expensive compared to others.

Much better than the meal I had from vanilla spice. Last week Everything was hot and cooked properly the only thing I find with the handpost tandoori is the price they are a bit more expensive but there’s a saying you get what you pay for. And it’s true in this case

Fabulous food once again, Sam and all the staff are very friendly and always happy to answer your questions about the menu, have tried other takeaways but none compare to the Handpost Tandoori

Great food, fresh n hot delivery on time

Food was delicious, very generous sizing so makes up for the extra cost compared to others. Was a little cold due to delay in arriving but still tasted good nonetheless!

Quality food, exceptional flavours. Unfortunately the delivery was 20 minutes late, but didn’t spoil any evening plans.

Food was ready when we arrived, and delicious.

Delayed order by 20 minutes and then it was 10 minutes late from revised delivery. Pre ordered no reason why is should’ve been delayed. Poor communication as well.

Excellent food. Really good to see a place that knows how to make a proper Chicken Kashmir. The papadoms were still warm and fresh when the food arrived, always a good sign. Would definitely order again.

We have same main every time and it's always consistent, always hot and tasty. Tried their chicken chaat, fantastic flavours, will be having that again. Always a warm friendly service from phoning order to collection.

Ordered here after ten years because the rail way changed hands ,WOW was like going back in time , metal dishes , great food , only thing missing was the old style chips, roast potatoes

Chicken Bombay had no egg (a key ingredient) and the container was 1/2 empty. Not great when restaurant charges top prices. I won't be ordering again.

Nice curry but extraordinarily expensive! £4 for pilau rice, £3.90 for naan, £2.90 for chips!!! =£16 for takeaway curry, rice & chips for 1 person!! Check prices of the side dishes.

Perfect as always! My family and I have been customers for 20 years and the food has never changed. There is no finer Indian restaurant in Newport and always recommend family and friends. I really appreciate my special requirements which not a lot of restaurants take notice, so thank you!

Jinga poori and biriany was amazing. Unfortunately the tandoori chicken was so dry and lacked taste. The moglay paratha too was dry and tasted funny nothing like it’s suppose to. Keema rice and sheek kebab was also delicious.

Easily the best tasting curries in South Wales! Let alone the Newport area. Amazing and friendly service always provided also!

HPT was my local 15yrs ago , so thought I would give it a go. Starters-Onion Bhaji was awesome. Main course -Chicken Madras- Meat was great, sauce was bland and blended like everywhere else these days. Delivery fee- £4.50 extortionate. Overall cost £5 more than my usual and other than quality of ingredients was mediocre. Could be great.
