Great friendly no nonsense atmosphere. You could easily sit here all day scrolling, or doing work on your laptop. Staff are friendly and helpful and will leave you alone as good as chat to you. It's the sort of place where everyone feels part of the community and you could find yourself chatting with total strangers about a load of different subjects. It attracts young and old and people from all walks of life. Local business that is hitting the right spot in the heart of the community. Great little place. Definitely better than Cafe FortySix as its main competitor. Coffee is also local as well as some other brands which are spot on. Wide selection of pastries/cakes as well as wraps and bagels. Crisps and drinks are also good too. Dog friendly also which is nice. Looking forward to spending more time here.

Couldn’t give 0 stars!! I didn’t get to stay! Booked a room and they cancelled 5 days before arrival, then when I contacted booking.com they said they could refund me the difference for alternate accomodation if they get confirmation from the owner that it is no longer available. The owner then lied to booking.com and told them it is still available - very unprofessional!! Really annoyed!! Don’t bother booking as they are selfish and could cancel on you last minute all because “they may not be back on time from their trip” disgusting!!

ive had Royal Pizza for a good couple of months now and found great food was great price was great but i went to order from there tonight same as i always have and guess what they put the prices up why do all these good food places always spoil things by being greed i may have to go elsewhere in future royal pizzas you might have just lost a good customer

Was it chicken or sparrow? Tiny, over cooked portions for a stupid price. Delivery driver was an asshole. Never again.

Would not feed the food to my dogs the food was disgusting. The chicken was like rubber and the duck was like plastic. I wouldn’t waste my money on it. I had to throw it all in the bin.

Disappointed with how rude staff and services are. Food is not the best and chips are soggy most times.

Paid £9.50 for a breakfast came without mushrooms and bacon was badly burnt. Shocking place to order from extremely disappointed and will never order again. Absolutely vile!

been the angle so many times ever since I was 18 never had a bad word to say ever Friday night just gone me and my friend went in shown our iD at the door went straight out side because it was busy I was on the phone my friend tripped over and fell down the first step of the 3 little steps in side leading to go outside and I ran back to help her up no one seen her fall she was in agony we had about 4 drinks by this point nothing else and we didn’t mix it was just 4 vodka crans we was literally fine I got her up fine back to the table outside and got ask for ID again from the bouncer out the back again all fine he walked away after checking and she decided to try and go get a drink limping in because she had just fallen over they asked for ID at the bar again even tho we shown it at the front door and outside she limps back out to get her ID for the 3rd time (she has fractured her ankle and is now in a boot for 4 weeks) from her bag and asked me to go in because she’s in to much pain so I go up and got told I can’t serve you your to drunk and you got fake ids got followed back outside by 2 people a man and a women and kicked us out because “we’ve all been 16 before “ i was told whilst I was showing him my driving license and her provisional and he wasn’t even looking it at and said she took to long to come back to the bar to show her ID I I said yes because she just tripped over and can’t walk a sec and still insinuating I’m a child now smirking and acting like I’m sneaking into a pub I’m 23 and she’s 24 I said I get that you have to do your job but this is ridiculous my friend was in so much pain she just needed to sit down

First time visiting The Crown and Scepture and food was stunning! We decided to pop in for some lunch and the staff couldn't be anymore accommodating, considering we did not book in advance on a bank holiday weekend. Plenty of choice of meals on their menu and really good value for money! Food was stunning and really good portion size! Could not fault it! I will definitely be coming back again!

Ordered Scampi, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce and a side salad. Scampi was ok not the best I’ve had. Mushy peas had been over microwaved they were dryer than a camels ring piece in the Sahara desert, also flattened down to make it look like more was on the plate. Chips were cold from where the food had been standing awaiting the microwave ping. Curry sauce was surprisingly very nice. Side salad had nice chopped fresh tomatoes but the cucumber was so thinly sliced Kate Moss could have hid behind it. Ordered a pint of cider and asked for ice arrived with no ice, melted maybe one of 2 ways. 1. Over microwaved 2. The camel ate it. Atmosphere here today in spoons is grim. More life in a morgue, at least it’s sunny out.

usually love this place but this time i am shocked food is not even warm and for 4 people the portions is terrible, chips are soggy not even cooked properly, so shocked with this.
