Not much atmosphere, but I did go there for breakfast

Love this weatherspoons, staff brilliant always take time to chat. Food always cooked well and the best pint of brewdog what more can I ask for

short ginger girl behind the bar provided absolutely appalling service didn’t catch her name, she had an attitude with me when i was just being civil whilst buying a drink. Atmosphere was okay outdoor area was dirty and had not been cleaned but overall my experience was shocking and the girl should not have a job here providing service like she did. Will not be returning anytime soon

Decent place. Very busy we ate hear for just over a week every afternoon on a work trip. Sometimes, they got orders wrong on changing anything with your meal and weren't happy to correct it. Apart from that, food quality was okay for weatherspoons. Bar staff were fantastic and really really polite especially the 1 lady who took our food orders.

Been here many times. Food has always been good for what it is. Today unfortunately food has been so poor. Me and family left 70% of our meals. Old double dipped chips, old/new peas. Dirty cutlery, greasy plates. Staff are short staffed so dirty tables everywhere. Disappointed, didn't speak to manager as only one staff serving. I don't leave bad reviews but food was piss poor.

Busy but great service and food

Food was absolutely terrible fish was stale and looked as if it had been over cooked and left on the side for a while. A colleague also had a pie and gravy and it was tasteless with the pie being a soggy mess with very little meat inside it

We called in for a late breakfast, whilst in Neath. We are both in agreement , that today we were both served the WORST breakfast in any of the spoons premises we have visited. Everything was Luke to cold. The toast was white, may have even been straight from the loaf onto the plate. I went to use the toilets, which seemed to be in need of updating, seats on the toilet pan would help. Decided to use toilets at the train station. Recommend, certainly not for food on today's experience.

Typical Spoons, but very friendly and helpful staff

Had a lovely time with family. We bought several pitchers of cocktails, shots, and wine. Tried one of the new cocktails on their menu. Some liked it, some didn't, there is always the classic Blue Lagoon which we all liked. Will be back again.

It's a Witherspoons... only popped in for a pint on a weekday, so can't really say much about it.

Terrible as usual, service is awful Just spent 10 mins by bar being ignored, I'll spend my cash elsewhere

Always nice to visit here. I do like the pizza and the 3 plates deal is a bargain. The staff are always friendly.

Can't comment on food as I only went in for a couple pints but the beer was fresh and everyone was having a good time and friendly. I'd go again for sure

Miserable barmaid who spilt our drinks - didn’t apologise... surely it’s her job to know how to carry a drink...? Then we were singing, very nicely, and the bouncer threatened to kick us out. I’ve never been to a pub where people are not allowed to sing in Wales!? WE ARE IN WALES!!!

Felt intimidated and not wanted by waitress trying to clear table before we had even finished drinks, She kept lifting glasses and even pulled a bottle of wine from ice bucket with a used cloth in hand. We left shortly afterwards.evem tried to take chairs from table not good I'm ver annoyed about it not the first time she has done to this too .

Lovely Tomato and basil soup and The Panini was lush. Also, the soup really hot really enjoyed it best ever had 10/10 lovely staff

The current staff / manager set up is the best it's been for ages. They work so hard behind the bar and I must give a mention to the waitress with the long, black hair. She is so hard working and friendly. Hope it stays this way.

Ordered the American burger with chips and I left hungry, honestly the amount of chips that I had wouldn't be enough for a child. Left so disappointed and had to have food elsewhere shortly after.

Ordered a curry and was served half a korma with a literal handful of rice Charged extra for poppadoms, which were shiny with oil, bahjees which never turned up and a chutney tray which were two bowls of salad The garlic naan could have been nice bit I didn't even bother trying it because it was soaked with the oil from the popadoms, I took the whole meal back It was also ordered with a pint, which after over half an hour didn't arrive so I had to ask for, being told, "we couldn't find your table", not to worry, they did offer to pour me a fresh pint Jesus wept, just have a McDonald's instead

Stella was served in a stuiped glass and there was no music on so just her each other talk very noisy

Average spoons. Good price food and drink and reasonable level of service. Went in today and ended up waiting around 10 mins to be served at the bar. Even though there was plenty of staff, hardly any serving.

Simply amazing. The eggs were exquisite, and the service was unbelievable. I’ve driven past this hidden gem so many times, but I can’t believe I’ve never tried it. Highly recommend, will take my Dad here next week. Comfy atmosphere, REALLY enjoyed. Best around.

Spoons is spoons and a go to where ever we go

Went in for a couple drinks prior to a visit to the curry house. Drinks are reasonably priced and service was OK, a little slow. Rugby was on the TV screens, so the pub was busy. Previous visits did include food. Meals are well priced but portions quite small and not very inspiring.

Service by the bar very slow,3 bar staff serving , there was one couple at the bar and 4 single people and I waited 15 mins and left before I got served because I didn't have time to wait.

Very nice pub and meal. The staff were very friendly and good at their job. Another good witherspoons pub, giving good service and good value for money.

I work away a lot and always head for Wetherspoons at the end of the working day for a couple of beers and some food. This is by far the worst one I've visited. App ignored for 15 minutes, food bland and tasteless. Awful atmosphere and dirty tables. Give it a wide berth.

Standard Wetherspoons. Good value for breakfast with hot drinks including refills at £13 for 1 small and 1 large. Can't really go wrong using them for a good start to the day.

I think it was the best fish and chips I've ever had in a wetherspoons, cooked to perfection. Children all had chicken dishes, all dishes presented well, staff are lovely

Strangely slow service which did improve later. Doombar at its most expensive at this venue. Making up for lost profits? Far better on a later visit and 👏👏👏 to the serving staff. Well done guys 👍 One of the more basic Wetherspoons but doesn't disappoint. Could do with a facelift as starting to look a little tired but a solid 3 star venue.

Unfortunately first impressions are the ones that last. My 14 year old son and I stopped in Neath this weekend and on the way back to our hotel we decided to have a meal in the David Protheroe. It was 6:00pm on a Saturday and the over officious female bouncer on the door blocked my son’s entrance demanding to see some identification!!!! I politely informed her that we were going in for a meal to which instead of moving aside and wishing us a pleasant evening she begrudgingly said “ok but he’s got to be out by 20:30. Meal ok, drinks cheap enough but first impressions count so didn’t feel welcoming unlike other establishments in the area. Maybe you should send your bouncer for some training from Troy Hawke.

Average for a Wetherspoons. The food was hot, which makes it better than average but the tables were very slow to be cleared so that makes it worse. We were there three nights in a row and although Friday night is excusable, early on Wednesday is not, and even is the dirty plates were taken away there was no attempt to clean the table of spilled beer and food. Our expectations were not very high, and we were not disappointed.

Love this place. Every time I go in there, everyone is so friendly. I've never had a problem there. The staff are great and their security it top notch. Nice, peaceful drink without any disturbance.

Visited this place for a quick bite to eat the menu variety was big and good value that's where the good things ended . The food was nothing special the place was really dirty sticky tables and tables full of left over food and it wasn't busy at all overall not a very inviting place needs a good clean won't be going back

Terrible service go to port Talbot

Called in later in the evening then I would normally but wanted a quick bit to eat and a take away to take out! Opted for nachos and pizza Pizza nice to be fair. Nachos = what a mess literally about ten nacho crisps if that. And so much sauces you could not see the nachos. Went back to order 2 differant pizzas to bring home for boys thinking they would be fresher this way then ordering at the same as previous pizzas. Lady who I can only imagine was the manager on duty tonight ( Monday 17th July) on plates hubby explained we had ordered for take away could they be put in boxes, she walked away with the only words " that message wasn't passed on" Anyway we were ready to fo so I though save her walking back we went to stand by door by where they bring the food out off. She then went on to serve bowl ice cream to another table and then food to another. Asked at the bar about our order. To be told they have gone back up to the kitchen to be put in box and cut! In all the times I've had take away pizza from here never has it been cut. Nor was mine cut on my plate from previous. After 15 mins of waiting asked for a refund! Would of been cold by this time anyway I'm not the best at building boxes myself but even I could build the box quicker then that! Again they were not busy so no idea what was the problem. And then surely ice cream is served cold so prioritise the hot food ?? I will not be returning that's for sure, i never had any problem in here befor this. Changed managers maybe ? Staff need more training on customer service, and general attitude. Just remember even if your a manager your not a cut above the rest! Inface you should set by example! Like to point out the lady who was behind the bar who done the refund couldn't apologise anymore and was very understanding.

The eggs must have been poached in a mould for too long as the were like large rubber bullets. The hollandaise sauce ham and toast, as they were out of bagels were all cold and the side salad looked so embarrassed to be on the same plate it was wilting away and looked half dead. The only thing to my liking was the crispy bacon I ordered separately. Delectable and very crispy. The Chef David jones needs to whip his staff into shape and show them how to cook when he’s absent!

Popped in for a breakfast. Well worth the money. Under £10 for a large all day and a coffee.

Never been to a Wetherspoon pub before, excellent service good choice of beers etc. Exceptional value for money

I had a mixed grill it was absolutely shocking everything was overcooked it was very dry and very Bland I will never ever eat there again

Great place. Nice curry (Thursday night), great choice of drinks at really good prices. There are plenty.of places to sit. Staff are friendly.

The male manager Gavin, at 7 windsor road Neath is extremely unpleasant, I'm 30 years old and he wanted to card me to be difficult. When I slid the ID Across across the counter top he decided that he was disrespected, By the way he received the form of ID he requested. And informed me that he wouldn't be serving me and that I needed to leave the bar. He wouldnt inform me of who his manager was and refused to comment any further, he kept telling me that I was on camera, even though I hadn't done anything wrong, and proceeded to call the police. He has served me countless numbers of times as I am in there every weekday of the and spend about £25-£30 a day on drinks and food after work. If business starts going bad and you start loosing more customers and the revenue that goes along with them; you'll know who to blame. Absolutely shocking behavior.

Absolutely disgusting food eggs look like rubber. and got ripped off with the price should of been 10.63 and they charged me 12.11 robing bustards.. I'll never set foot in there again. And I'll be contacting trading standards...

This pub is an absolute disgrace to weatherspoons. They have the inability of being able to serve hot food.

Called in for a drink after returning from Cardiff watching the rugby. The drinks are reasonably priced. My wine was lovely. Locked at the food menu and I may try there soon. Toilets were upstairs though !!

Ordered fish and chips. The fish was so battered it was inedible. A total disgrace.

Not my favourite wetherspoons. Too many walls and pillars, making it a pub with 'areas". Too many sections of the pub you cant see, even though its one room on one floor, making it not a place you can enjoy if you like to see your surroundings if you are socialising. The food and drinks are exactly what you'd expect from a wetherspoons.

Drinks prices are a bargain and the food is good value for money aswell. Another place I enjoy going too.

Food and drinks were of the usual tidy, cheap as chips standard and great value for families. However the men's toilets were disgusting and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for ages. Spoilt our visit.

The manager of the place and the female security guard are awful. They do not care for customers and are extremely rude. Fab place until they started working there, it needs to have a change of staff imideielty.
