The best restaurants in Pontprennau/Old St. Mellons Cardiff South Wales

We spent about 5 hours in this pub today as we didn't want to leave! Wonderful food and such a warm and cosy environment. We will definitely be coming back :)

We wandered into this restaurant without any expectations and were so impressed and glad that we came. It was very nicely decorated and clean, with friendly informative staff. The food was fantastic! The ceviche was fresh and tasty and we loved the empanadas (we tried them all! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We didn't eat we only drank, staff and customers were friendly. A large wine and a pint of Worthingtons was cheap only £8.80 for both, next door was almost double. Would go to both again 🍺🥂🍾

We went for an early dinner for my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and were extremely pleased by the great food and attentive service. The team were great at making sure the dinner was special, by providing a bottle for the table already displayed for arrival, with the table decorated to match and with the extra special touch of a written sign from the team congratulating my grandparents for their 60 years together. The Ty winch is a fabulous pub, perfect for all occasions and you are guaranteed for a lovely time, I would highly recommend and will continue to be a favourite of ours.

Nice location , lovely staff , very polite , great attitude , but caffe dirty , I went in morning about 11.30 , floor very dirty , tables , I just wondering when is the cleaner coming , if they in morning and coffee shop not ready and clean , so imagine the much of dirt there

where was the free hash browns, I didn't eat all day because I was saving myself for the free hash browns, I feel empty, delated and lacking in sustenance that those sweet sweet golden hash brown would've hit. ps Footlongs were nice though

Ok basic food but don’t cost an arm and a leg, good ordered and came quickly, lovely friendly staff, old pub been around decades Landlady lovely x

Regular customers, fish and chips are always cooked to perfection. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Ordered a breakfast, and the place was not full. A larger party of 6 had previously ordered so was prepared to wait.....but not 45mins before I had my food, and then they got the order wrong! 2 from the 6 before never even received theirs and asked for a refund. Wish I had! They blamed takeaways - not my issue, sort your priorities out and a process to do both! It would be quicker to drive into the city centre, order and eat in Weatherspoons and drive back! Sorry, but will not be revisiting again or even recommending!

This is my local burger king and I got to be brutally honest it's the worst run burger king you could ever go to every time I've visited in the last 9 years all meals have been cold!!!! I thought I'd try it again today and hay presto it's cold again! Staff are rude and always on their mobile phones in a food production area I will be passing it on again to an environmental health officer this is unacceptable!!
