The best restaurants in Newtown East Powys Mid Wales

We've used this takeaway several times, and they never disappoint . Every dish We've had has tasted fantastic, and arrived hot and within a short time. The food is high quality and a good price, probably one of the best in town.

Great stay, good location for motorbike rides from and back to the hotel. Just a shame the restaurant was closed till further notice, but it's not a huge issue as there are several other places to eat within walking distance.

Had visited a couple of times before, had the cheese platter which was amazing. They've done a great job with the pug.

Went in for a relaxing drink after shopping and needing a sit down. There is an indoor market, almost opposite this pub, which has lots of interesting stalls. Asked if ok for our dog to come inside with us and he was warmly welcomed too :) I had a lovely half of lager and lime which tasted great and was lovely and cold, hubby had a pint which he also really enjoyed. Our dog was given a big bowl of water to drink which he greatly appreciated. There's a big TV showing sport. Everyone was so friendly in here, a great pub and well worth a visit if you're in the area.

They had cash machine issues so ordering was a faff. We ordered two 12” pizzas plus a portion of chips. We had Meteors pizza and the Pepperoni both had decent flavour and a good portion of fillings. There was enough for two adults and three children. Would recommend to all

It's been a few years since I last visited The Lantern, So I thought I would give it a go. Really glad that I did, as the food & service were as great as I remembered. Tried the Crispy Beef with salt, pepper & chilli, and it was pretty Zingy! The nice lady had warned me that it was quite spicy, and it hit the spot nicely. Staff always very helpful, Food is always hot and they never get the order wrong, excellent McDonalds considering its remoteness.

A nice clean pub, food was good, seevice was good, definitely a 5 star wetherspoons.

Absolutely awful. 3rd time we have been here and complained everytime... food cold or items missing. Wine served in a brandy glass . Complaint sent to wetherspoons to be told sorry .we will speak to area manager.
