A lovely little classic pub with a friendly landlord and nice, chatty locals. They had a dart board and a brilliant vinyl jukebox, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area on the weekend (I think they only open Friday to Monday)
We visited Charlie’s Restaurant for the very first time yesterday and it certainly didn’t disappoint. As soon as I walked in I felt instantly ‘at home’ .. the beautifully designed decor was not only a feast for the eyes but felt incredibly cosy too. With it being December it was dressed for the season, with two beautiful Christmas trees adding to the festive vibe. We had Sunday lunch .. my husband and grandson had the beef and I opted for the chicken. The ‘Molly Parkin’ parsnips were absolutely gorgeous and made the perfect accompaniment to our meals .. which were all absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this delightful little restaurant!

Thought I'd pop in forward coffee while waiting for someone to arrive off the train, couldn't belive you charge £4.20 for a latte 😳 I'm all for supporting local businesses, but sorry that's the only £4.20 you'll get from me 👎
Sunday lunch today was excellent
Beef dinner with 5 vegetables, mash potato, roast potato, Yorkshire pudding and very tasty gravy.
£18 for two meals - lovely spacious restaurant and helpful staff. Will definitely be booking again
This was the first time we tried this takeaway.
Sadly it was a disappointment. We thought we would give it a try as we try to support local businesses.
The meal was ready on time which was positive.
The meal itself was more like a soup rather than a curry, infact it was like an uncle Ben's.
Not the Indian food we are used too, perhaps it the chef is from a different region.
Sorry but I can not recommend.
We went for lunch after wasting our time at the terrible and disgusting sea zoo place not far from here (which must be avoided). Hanna was fantastic, very professional and friendly. The chef knows how to prepare food, which was delicious and well presented. Our congratulations to the chef. All in all, a wonderful place to eat.
Very welcoming and pleasant place to be. Good value food and Chris and Rachel will always go that extra mile to accommodate your requirements. Love going there.

The food was good and served in a timely manner, it was rather empty for a Friday night. I did notice a very reasonably priced Ch Musar on the winelist. My colleague and I had beer instead.
