This place is a gem. I felt like I had been welcomed into someone's home. Cosy seat by a lovely warm radiator and scrumptious food, healthy and delicious. Brilliant host. Can't wait to go back thanks for the experience. It was just what I needed after a really busy day at work.

Best pub in PORT TALBOT, not just for food but the vibe, the staff, the whole experience. And food is absolutely beautiful whether you want a menu daily or a Sunday dinner you will never be disappointed I’ve spent both Saturday and Sunday here with friends and it’s been the best place :-) for celebrations. Even in January the atmosphere never changes. The staff here are also so so accommodating. Thank you.

Fantastic little pub food was amazing staff very professional. Great warm welcome seriously could not fault it highly recommend. My wife is vegan and there is no shortage of options for her the same applies to non vegans

Visited tonight and had the new mixed grill sharing meal from the mid week grill menu and it was the best I've ever tasted!!, each meat had its own flavour marinade , everything was cooked to perfection and so tender , service as always was fantastic ,staff are so friendly and welcoming, I highly recommend this place for all your dining experiences whether it be for casual lunch, an evening meal, a preplanned special occasion , or a wholesome sunday lunch, all menus also have a good selection of vegan options so you wont be disappointed

Gorgeous food and lovely staff. Bit slow tonight but only one bar person present, and they were very attentive and very smiley. Discerning wine selection - my malbec was excellent . Been here twice now and each time has been a very good experience.

Been before, the food was delicious and has been in my previous experiences. The service was a bit slow and the food was delayed due an error that wasn't communicated so I had to ask what was going on. I was annoyed but the food taste and flavour when it came won me around. Expensive but worth it it they can tighten up on service

Before starting, I have to say that We're already planning a trip for dinner with our families! We visited having been for a drive around the surrounding valleys as we'd promised ourselves to eat there having stopped for a drink last summer. The menu has been overhauled since last year and we each went for a salad: to startbwr shared a plate of olives and focaccia and, for mains, my partner had the Caesar and I had House salad. The focaccia is baked in house and absolutely stunning; the salads were enormous, so much so that I think I had my "five a day" for the weekend in one sitting. Both salads were beautifully presented and really tasty. Also, the House salad has a choice of dressings which I really appreciated. Final mention must go to the staff and owners who were incredibly nice to talk to.

Thank you guys for the best Sunday lunch we’ve EVER had! Both the Lamb and Beef were so beautifully cooked there was no need for a knife, and the generous portion of meat on the plate was astounding! Accompanying veg and gravy were also in abundance and extremely tasty! The fantastic meal coupled with the astoundingly warm welcome and friendly service we received left us once again eager for our next visit. Cannot give enough praise to every single aspect of this place! Thank you so much guys, it’s truly appreciated.

Me and my family love The Brit. We walk up alongside the river from Port Talbot and really enjoy the beer garden. Lovely staff, lovely drinks, lovely food. Recommended!

Our friend from Malaysia, who is from Port Talbot, recommended this pub restaurant. We enjoyed our dinners so much that we visited twice, as our friend lives nearby. On our second visit, it was a bit busy, but fortunately, our friend had booked a table. I had the roasted chicken, and my husband had the rump steak. The portions were generous, and we also enjoyed all the appetizers. The owner was friendly, frequently checking on the tables and bringing a sense of humor to the atmosphere. If you're near their pub, definitely give it a try!

Great service from a good local pub. Always busy, so usually end up sitting outside, but the outside seating area is nice enough!

A friend and I dined here last night, we both ordered the same meal Chicken with a creamy garlic mushroom sauce and herby smashed potato, we both said it was the best meal we had ever had,it was so delicious I could have licked the plate 😋 we will million per cent be back very soon and will try something different..great little pub fantastic service fantastic staff..hats off to owain and joe you got this little gem spot on. Went to The Brit for the 1st time last night, what a fantastic night, food was amazing, entertainment ( bingo lingo) was absolutely brilliant, and a very warm welcoming from the owners, and staff , who didn't stop for one minute. Shall definitely be returning

My wife and I were home visiting family and were recommended a visit. We had the chateaubriand to share. I have to say,what was served up was nothing short of outstanding. At least on a par with some of the best steak I've had. So pleasing to see a successful business in cwmavon, where I grew up. The restaurant has a lovely warm and welcoming vibe, very friendly and helpful staff, but most importantly of all, is backed up with seriously good food! We will be coming back as often as we can! New ownership and staff are clearly doing an outstanding job. Well done and keep up the good work. 🙌

Saturday lunch booking, absolutely stunning food! Great portion sizes, good prizes and amazing service! Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through Cwmafan or if you live by! Quirky atmosphere, great variety in menu, and AWESOME decor! Highly recommend!

We have been to the Brit several times and have never been disappointed. In the last year it has been taken over by new owners who have taken a good pub and made it so much better. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming. The different menus have something for everyone and the food is incredible! The last time we went we tried a steak sandwich from the new bar menu and it was delicious. They also have the best vegetarian and vegan options I’ve ever seen in a pub. The new owners are incredible and treat you like family on every visit. This is a must visit pub!!! You won’t be disappointed.

I attended a psychic night at the Brit back last month where a 2 course meal was provided along with the show when purchasing a ticket. There was a large variety of options available for starter and main course which was a huge suprise compared to other venues I have attended which supply a basic set meal. I had garlic mushrooms to start and a spag bol main which were both absolutely beautiful! It was super busy there but that didn't stop the very small staffing team from working quickly and effectively to ensure everyone was seated, served and more importantly happy in a short amount of time. The atmosphere was amazing with even the bar owners getting involved in the psychic night. They were beyond pleasent and I couldn't recommend it more! I highly recommend an event at The Brit!

Such a nice place, really cool, quirky decor, but still the feel of a traditional pub. Really great range of drinks and real ales, as well as good selection of gins and wines. Everyone was really friendly, and it felt warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely love the Brit, especially now they allow kids in the day and is the perfect place for adults in the evenings! The food is amazing and the Eton mess is a personal favourite. Always greeted with a smile by everyone that works there! Will definitely be coming to a quiz night soon!

We called for supper on a Saturday evening after walking part of the Welsh coastal path. The bar was lively, busy with a great atmosphere. The bar is dog friendly. We had a table in the restaurant where it was quieter and pleasant. I had the Tuscan salad which was absolutely delicious, accompanied by a small portion of spring vegetables, carrot, green beans, broccoli and asparagus which were perfectly cooked 'al dente'. The herby crushed potato was also very good. My husband had the sirloin steak which he told me was also excellent. It wasn't a cheap pub meal but the quality made it good value for money

A lovely Sunday dinner as a family with 2 vegans. Staff were friendly and the pub was welcoming, but the fire didn’t seem to be working when we came and so it was cold in the pub, it didn’t feel like there was alternative heating on. I can only comment on the vegan dinner but it was lovely, and the vegan cheesecake was lovely. Will be back to try their other vegan options

The friendliest of welcomes, with great food, super atmosphere and lovely Lily our waitress. I felt like I was enjoying the best meal round at a friend’s house. The new owners are doing an amazing job in making their place feel like a relaxing and memorable treat, which it certainly is. I can’t wait to return for another Sunday lunch. I’d heard a lot of good things about the Brit. I kind of knew one of the owners who was a waiter at a different restaurant. Went there with my fiancée for my birthday and was blown away by the welcome, to start with, then the atmosphere, service and the food! I felt like a guest at a friend’s house. There was live music- acoustic guitar and a great singer. Not so loud so you couldn’t enjoy a romantic meal- just perfect. Will definitely be back, amazing evening. If you haven’t been you should go, you will not be disappointed. Great food, great atmosphere, great friendly service- what more could you want?

Well, we arrived today and thought it was going to be a nightmare. We prebooked vegan and gluten free and one of us was going to have the vegetarian. There were no veggie pies left and then they came back and said no GF available. Luckily, the GF isn't intolerant but just prefers it. When it arrived, I must say it was delicious and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We will be back. The vegan roast was stunning too.

Food band both my friemd and I were disappointed....Chips were soggy jacket potato kind and my friend said the belly pork was bland and poor.

Massively over priced £6 for roulade came out chocolate swiss roll no cream or ice cream options falsely advertising then order Belly pork came out rolled pork half of carrot 1 asparagus 1 scoop of mashed potato £18.00. falsely advertising there food big prices for baby portions save your money go elsewhere massively disappointed 😔

Fabulous food, went on a Friday when there was a singer. Fantastic atmosphere. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. A lovely small friendly pub with quality food. Interior was homely.

It was an extremely long wait for food. We were approached 45 minutes after ordering to tell us they were out of stock on all of the starters we had chosen (what were they doing for the 45 minutes before telling us?), so we asked to skip starter and proceed straight to the main meal, however we then had to wait another 60 minutes. When the food came, it was nice. However the length of time it took for the food to come ruined it for us.

We visited the Brit pub 29th dec. booked a table for seven. The food was delicious well presented and reasonably priced. Staff were all lovely very helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Sent food back as they misplaced our order, firstly gave us some other tables starters. When our main meal arrived warm food on cold plates Sent our meals back ownly to be given warm food again served on cold plates. When paying asked if all was OK with our meal replied not really and was told only one chef in kitchen today 🤔 not really our problem. Shame as we were recommended the brit pub but will not returning.

Fabulous meal. Very tasty. Out with a large group of work colleague's and all the plates were returned empty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the vegan shepherds pie it was lovely. Looking forward to returning.

Called in for drinks with friends. Very nice garden and lovely to sit outside when weather good! Update 14/12/23 afternoon Had the festive menu today £30 and wasn't 😍 The parsnip soup, was nice it was super hot but could have done with more seasoning. The turkey dinner was just bland, tho did have plenty of meat, the gravy was like water, only had 2 roast potatoes, (no boiled) which is fine had it not been for just 2 roasts. It wasnt bad enough to send back but it was just bland. Ive honestly had better at Toby. Now the cheesecake was amazing, and well worth having😍 Also the normal menu could do with some lunch time snack items like a panini or a wrap something for a light bite.

We visited this pub on the back of the reviews on here and we weren’t disappointed. It was packed with a great atmosphere and lovely food. We liked it so much we returned the following day for their mulled wine and little market. Again, it was packed. Cwmavon is lucky to have such a pub.

Just came with a large group. Food was served on time and was gorgeous! Atmosphere was amazing lush owners and staff simply perfect can’t recommend enough!!!

Very disappointing Sunday Lunch. Was Luke warm to cold and just 1 small dish of (uncooked) vegetables between 4 adults and 1 gravy boat. Staff not interested if we were satisfied with the meal, didn't have the courtesy of asking if all was ok. Won't be revisiting.

Rubbish..cold and not enough..£100 for 4 adults and one child (who left it all)..Sunday dinner..I've had better tesco ready meals..to top it all..dog's..smelly dog's..won't see us again..!!

Went there last week, had a table booked for 7.00, we were presented with our meal at 9.15. Food is mediocre and massively overpriced. Not a bad singer in there mind.

Visited twice in the last few weeks and had a cracking Sunday lunch on both occasions. Excellent food and service. Staff are really friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable What more do you want? Highly recommended!!

Went out for a couple of drinks on a Friday night, not realising it was music night. Was great until the music started, but then couldn't hear ourselves think due to the over- amplified sound in a very confined area. Would prefer if a Friday evening was just left as plain and simple "pub time", perhaps shift the music slots to a midweek night, or else have a quiet word with artists to provide a more "unplugged" experience in such an intimate space.
