Butterflies Bar & Kitchen in Torfaen

Myself and family attended last night for my 30th and I cannot thank the staff enough for all the attentiveness they gave to not only myself and family but to my two children. Myself & my husband shared the steak platter and it was beyond perfection. The cockles pickie bits were to dieeeee for🤌🏼 myself and my son could of eaten a bucket of them. As we said to the staff last night.. we've had food at the shard (London) and that food stuck with us.. but this meal last night out done the shard! My mother's pork was flawless, fathers steak cooked to perfection. Our sides, kids meals just all beyond. With two fussy kids.. they ate every crumb. My sons first words this morning (6 years old) "mam, that was the best meal last night I've EVER had". Massive thank you for the singing with my cake.. the girls that work their are so lovely & go above and beyond! I can't say thank you to you all enough. we will be back 💜

Waited 6 was for this meal and was well worth it. A bit expensive though but you have to try it once

This was an excellent experience all round. I was full of anticipation having waited 4 months for a table. It did not disappoint, food lived up to the hype, atmosphere and service A1. Looking forward to next visit.

Had the two persons steak sharing platter, tremendous meal, well cooked. It was more than enough food for two people. The staff were attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Even though we live in cardiff we will certainly be returning in the future.

Can't fault the food or service, staff were very intentive and couldn't ask for anymore. Lovely atmosphere, very good value considering the taste and amount of food. Will definitely be back. Will just note that unable to leave tip via card, so will bring some spare cash next time. Food ordered included both the beef and chicken burgers, dirty fries and dirty oni9n rings. Mac and cheese balls for starters. Delicious.

Lovely place but disappointed This time ordered fish and was full of bones and not very edible If it did say bones fair enough but I don't remember reading that It was alot though and put me off eating it. My partner has lamb and said it was lovely but a shame about mine

Booked months in advance and you can see why! this is the most beautiful place, we came for our 19th anniversary and it was just incredible, we had a 3 course each and every mouthful was amazing, the staff were very lovely and looked after us well, the atmosphere was just lovely i have booked already fro May 2025 for my Mammas 60th Thank you so much

Awesome atmosphere, and lovely staff, not overly expensive for the quality and quantity of the meals and the black forest slice was amazing for desert. You can even get a food container to take home what you can't finish. We had the Sunday lunch, Lamb and Beef both very tender, next time I go I'm going for the lamb as it was so tender (cooked perfectly). 2 three course and a 2 course for my little girl with a couple of glasses of wine and a bottle of beer was around £97 which by today's prices is pretty reasonable for the quality of food you get in return. The only thing I didn't like was the carrots 👍

I have eaten here several times and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. The Sunday lunches are mind-blowing whichis whythey are book solid monthsinadvance, the steak experience is exceptional , and the butcher's board defies description. The photos attached is of the leftovers of the butchers board ,I don't think that the surf and turf experience is worth the money, but I don't get what it is about lobster that justifies the price I've never enjoyed it enough to feel it's worth it wherever I've tried it, I recommend this place 100% no hesitation no second thought's. Make sure you're hungry if you book the portions are enormous.

Came here for the first time 12 months ago to celebrate 4 October Birthdays and returned again last night. It did not disappoint with the same high quality service from the staff, delicious food and great atmosphere … 10/10 all round !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My 1st evening out in 11 months since having my baby to celebrate my husband’s birthday & oh my goodness! Starters we had the cod tacos & chicken thighs Mains we had the pork belly & beef burger Deserts we had the mixed berry pavlova & cookie dough Sides we had the ciabatta with red onion & cheese The food was next level, every bite was so flavoursome & cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, we didn’t have to ask for anything! What a beautiful setting too, very homely & the autumnal decorations gave the place a real cosy feel. I even treated myself to a Mediterranean Orange Gin recommended by our lovely server. Thank you very much for such a lovely first evening out for us to enjoy our celebrations. Next time we are booking up for your delicious looking Sunday lunches to try.

What a lovely place, heard many people talk about this place and it didn’t disappoint. Food was very good and lovely atmosphere. They ran out of fillet steak which we were gutted about just shows how popular this place is. Always good to find nice welcoming restaurants 👍

Recommended by my kids having visited previously, my wife booked us a table for my birthday. Venue and greeting were warm, welcoming, and friendly being seated immediately and made comfortable with drinks and the menu. For starters, we had the French onion soup and the steamed hoisin vegetable dumplings both delious and recommended. For the main, we ordered the sharing butchers block. OMG, I have never had or seen so many perfectly prepared, huge cuts of quality meats. Luckily, we ordered this with a fresh sharing salad rather than the standard fries but still had no chance of finishing it all 2 hrs later. With a good selection of drinks and wines available, we ordered a nice Malbec and a very tasty stout. My wife, like my kids, always has room for desert, and another favourite seen on most tables was the fresh raspberry Eton mess Sundae, which was tried and again did not disappoint. A thoughouly enjoyable evening with fabulous food and exemplary service I can't rate or recommend highly enough.

Booked here on open table for my sons birthday. 5 of us had starters and mains. Very good quality food and portions. Parking was a little awkward as there a no dedicated parking. Very good selection on the menu one of the best grill options in the area. Highly recommend.

A end of terrace bar and restaurant in the heart of historic Blaenavon. If you havent been check out the museum and Big Pit. Anyway Parking can be a problem, narrow terrace with limited space. Park on the main road (Hill Street)Entrance is on the side of hill street. Nice family vibe, friendly, attentive and efficient staff, soon as my glass was emptied was offered a re fill, politely. Food was excellent. Medium rump, medium sirloin and steak and stout pie. Large steaks and plenty of chips. Only criticism was some pieces in the pie were a little tough and chewy. Sauces were full of flavour. Overall definitely worth going back there and would recommend. You will need to make a reservation in advance.

In reply to previous review and your response, this is not how it happened at all. Several members of the party were witness to what was actually said, as well as witnessing the rude remarks made by serving staff at the table who said that our custom isn’t required after tonight as you’re fully booked until January. Did your CCTV also pick that up??? As previously said the food was really good but if you want good customer service AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

I have given 5* before for meals during the week before, but after a long wait for the Sunday roast I was disappointed. If I could book another roast in a couple of weeks or month or two I wouldn't mind and give it another go, however as the waiting list is so long (which is a good thing) I probably won't get another chance to try again. Potatoes were seasoned lovely and tasted really good but we're very under cooked. There was a group of 7 with myself. Half of us had cooked potatoes and the other half had under cooked, so we know it was just the batch that we had. As I cannot eat red meat I had chicken with the veggie gravy. Although the chicken was lovely, the gravy was a sweet cranberry gravy which I was not informed of or expecting. As a table we were not asked how our food was or if there were any issues until after our desserts. The waitresses are nice but as they're busy you do not want to stop them when they're carrying food or dirty plates or drinks, also waiting for food to be changed while the rest of the table is eating isn't the nicest feeling. Was hoping to go home full and with a doggy bag as we usually do, but ended up having two desserts and then cooking when we got home 😂 After a long wait and a lot of hype around the roast, I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. I feel the response has been to cover your back more than to apologise. Staff didn't ask us if our food was ok when the napkins were dropped over, he asked. If there was anything else we needed. If it was we didn't hear it because none of our table answered. And we all mentioned it at the end to the lady that no one asked us. We would have told you, but also as I said 3 of us didn't want to wait for more potatoes when the others were eating when you were so busy. Which as I said is a good thing when you like your food. Because the veggie gravy was sweet it would have been nice to have been informed to be given the option as sweet on a cook dinner if quite unusual for me. And I am sorry we were late, but we travelled from Newport and my grandad parents were driving for the first time and found it hard to park, even though my partner her mum and my son were all on time as I was helping my grandparents park. If customers being 10 minutes late is a problem please let us know when we walk in. Not telling us it's not a problem and sitting us down and then mentioning it on here when we have issues. I feel because of the reputation of the pub, some staff assume everything is ok and fine when sometimes things aren't. It's always good to check. I do hope I will try the Sunday roast again, but I am not willing to wait another 3/4 months for something I can get plenty of between Newport and bleanavon. After this response I probably won't be, my family will they enjoyed it. But I won't be Thanks

1st time visiting tonight certainly won’t be our last . Food was fabulous but I’d like to say a massive well done to the front of house staff who made us feel so welcome very polite but equally very professional nothing was to much trouble. Personally i couldn’t fault anything! Highly recommend

My hubby has booked this Rest since April 2024 for my birthday which is actually tomorrow (Aug 26th) but we had lunch instead on Sund, August 25th. Came here with my hubby, Dad-in-law and a good friend. We ordered Sunday Roast of Pork, Chicken, Lamb & Beef👌🏽. The food was excellent and quite a big portion which I couldn’t finish. Desserts (Warm chocolate fudge cake, Panna cotta, Raspberry cheesecake & Biscotti Sundae + café laté, cappuccino(s) & tea were also great and desserts were nicely presented. Bravo to the Chef👍🏽. Waiters and waitresses are excellent & friendly👌🏽. But one thing that was quite disappointing was that there is no parking space. We usually go to restaurants which provide parking spaces. It’ll be more convenient if there’s parking spaces. A lot more people will eat at Butterflies if there’s parking spaces. Moving from S’pore to Wales is quite a big change but we do like Wales especially restaurant like Butterflies. Will definitely come back, God bless, Lana Evans-Likumahwa xx

Finally managed to book a table and we were not disappointed. Food was fantastic, portions are very generous and everything was delicious. Plenty of friendly staff. We'll definitely return! The butchers block for two was huge and had to admit defeat. Can also recommend the salmon, belly pork, prawns and mac n cheese.

Wow what an amazing spot. Drove an hour and a half to this spot which I found on social media. The food was amazing, had the muscles to start, which were delicious. Then we had the Salmon and T-Bone steak as main. Both were beautifully cooked. The service was very attentive and quick, a special note to Lauren our server who was so lovely to us with great recommendations. An overall incredible experience and would definitely recommend. Must try the blue cheese and beef drip sauce!!

I cannot fault this restaurant. The staff were very accompanying for us and our dog (even though I think dogs were meant only in the bar area) The food was stunning. The Dry Aged steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I would advise anyone to eat here.

Our first visit here and we really enjoyed it. Very cosy atmosphere in a small, quaint room. The food was delicious and the portions were big. An expensive evening but for a special occasion I would say it was worth it. Will visit again.

Lovely place, staff were fantastic. great service. We both had steak got to say better than what I have had at Millet and Carters previously. Desert was cheesecake, went down a treat with the birthday girl. Definitely coming back again.

I went over a few years ago with my sister and was worried that it wouldn’t be as good as I bring my husband for our wedding anniversary, but heck I was wrong! The food was absolutely delicious, highly recommend the Welsh rarebit mushroom starter and the lamb main. The staff were professional and so lovely. My heart and tummy, which in fairness are very much connected, are very happy. We will definitely be back next time we are in Wales. Thank you wonderful team!

Found this place on Social Media just by chance and decided to visit as we live local. Booked for a Thursday evening meal, delicious food - really great portions. We ordered chicken, lamb, pulled Porto mac and cheese and focaccia bread - all outstanding. Excellent service with attentive staff and great surroundings.

Such a fantastic place! Passed by and decided to go in, we sat in the garden and had been told there would be a wait for food but it wasn't much of a wait at all. We ordered from the tapas menu and it was all surprisingly amazing! Very generous portions, great prices, highly recommend! Staff all very friendly and lovely as well.

Lovely place, ordered the surf and turf, steak was absolutely amazing but the lobster was very dry and rubbery, I won't be ordering the surf and turf again but the steak is always fantastic.

From start to finish the experience was very underwhelming. As soon as we sat down we were asked what drinks we wanted with no drinks menu. (If the drinks change on a daily basis the servers should advise what is on tap, etc.) I asked what cocktails they had but was told they didn't have a cocktail menu, then suddenly a cocktail menu appeared from a different server. I could not enjoy my meal or the company I dined with because the servers were asking if we were done with our food. I was also asked to pass them the cutlery that was used/unused to be cleared from the table. They were very unprofessional and I will not be returning.

A jewel in the valleys!!! Outstanding home cooked Sunday lunch. Staff were absolutely wonderful. We had roast beef and roast lamb, Yorkshire puddings was massive, seasonal vegetables were cooked to perfection. We also had a side of dirty roast potatoes, which was roast potatoes covered with pulled beef...yummy!! For dessert I had raspberry and lemonciell tirimasu which again was absolutely gorgeous, apple and caramel cobbler was amazing. Two course meal for £22pp. Pub is a little tricky to find but definitely worth the adventure. On street parking.

First time visiting as a family, everything was fantastic, the setting, the food, the team, Layla in particular was great so helpful and informative and amazing with our little boy, can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely place haven't been in sometime as its fully booked at weekends for months in advance and you can see why. Beautiful restaurant set up in Blaenavon has some limited parking dependant on the time you are visiting. We had the beer battered haddock which was huge and the streak sharing experiences which was nice, they won't cook over medium which I get so they offer a hot rock to cook more to your liking which was a fun idea. Had croquettes to start which were great and salt and pepper chicken Bao bun which was tasty but only issue is was barely warm which was a little disappointing and always seemed to have a different server but put that down to being so busy and not a major issue other that that it's great and would definitely recommend and return.

Incredible food, wonderful atmosphere and the service from the staff was outstanding. First time visit and it won't be the last. Soup of the day was delicious, with a seeded bread - stunning. Then onto the Taste of Welsh Beef and it was pure heaven! Every element just complimented each other and usually I'm not a fan of triple cooked chips but these have definitely changed my mind. 100% recommend Butterflies Bar & Kitchen.

When we sat down we were asked straight away what we wanted to drink, I asked for a drinks menu and the waitress said “we don’t have one” but they did as they had a cocktail and wine list available. After we had finished our mains the waitress said “pass the pots over so the guys in the kitchen can clean up” just rude. What made it even worse was her calling us “lovelies”. Steak quality was good, Mac and cheese lacked as it was dry, sauce was bland and the bao buns needed to be steamed more (it was strange it only came with one bun and it wasn’t served filled with the filling inside). Staff need more training, seems like they have no manager to train standards, care and hospitality. If we received nice service it would have been a different score but the whole experience left me with a bitter taste. Very pricey for what it is.

First time we have visited but it won't be our last, fabulous steak and great service. Highly recommended.

Very, very good steak beautifully cooked - Butterflies compares very favourably to London landmarks like Hawksmoor, for my money. We had the steak sharing experience for 2, and have just eaten the half of the steak that we took home with us. It’s a very generous option. Staff were friendly, and attentive to just the right degree. You have to book well in advance, which tells you everything.

Best steak ever -red as garnet, cut like butter. I had the Taste of Welsh Beef, three different ways all delicious. She the seabass with clams (lots of them) in a cream sauce - 'wonderful'. Not the easiest to get at but the place was full on a Tuesday evening so very worth the effort.

We were made to feel really welcome on arrival nothing was too much for the waiting staff, the food was out of this world absolutely mouthwatering can’t wait till the next time.

Won't find better anywhere in south wales not even the restaurants in Cardiff.... Outstanding food , service and atmosphere

Omg there is no where to beat this restaurant! Went Saturday night with friends.. delicious! Went then for Sunday lunch the following day with family ! Delicious again! The staff are so attentive and friendly… chatting and engaging with us.. Compliments to the chefs too as they provide the food quality and taste!! Well done! Booked again! 🥰 In the photo is the feather beef and sides of onion rings and cauliflowers/broccoli cheese 😋

From the minute me and my family walked in we knew it was going to be good, but didn’t expect for one minute for it to be that good. The food was second to none, fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. The wine was amazing, the sides, the sauces you name it and it was delicious! All staff made us feel welcome, comfortable and was a really gentle feel about the place. Honestly, well done. Knocks spots off anywhere I’ve been. First ever Sunday dinner with the butterflies team today and everything from the moment we walked through the door was high quality! Staff were efficient, warm and welcoming. The food was literally melt in your mouth absolutely impeccable! Great atmosphere everyone seemed so relaxed and happy. Certainly will be coming for another lunch soon!

Came as my second visit after a fantastic first visit. I had a 32oz steak we had garlic bread loads of chips 3 different sauces partner had a burger, a fantastic Mac and cheese. All in all with a few drinks came to around £95. Fantastic value there is restaurants charging double this in cardiff and city areas for lower quality food. There is a reason they have won all those awards service is amazing always happy smile on their faces happy to help with anything. Would choose to go here over anywhere else, the best food place I have visited ever. Thank you butterflies for making mine and my partners birthday so amazing. Disappointing there is only option for pictures as I have amazing videos of the food. Would recommend 100/10

So disappointed 🤦‍♀️ BUTTERFLIES BAR & KITCHEN your staff are rude! The restaurant was welcoming and well presented, starters were hot and delicious but the main was awful . Ordered the sharing steak at being requested medium, when arrived came out at rare and COLD , along with COLD sauces and onion rings. When complaining, the staff had FORGOT to ask us if we wanted the hot plate - so we could warm it up or cook it to a medium as requested . Absolutely crap - would never go back to this place again . When explaining to the staff we were patronised -“yes the steak is pink” ..

Went for a double birthday celebration. Butterflies will be our go to destination in future. Already booked for our wedding anniversary. The food was excellent rump of lamb was exceptional in quality and cooking, the fish was soft, flaky and the batter was crisp and light. The best thing about the evening though was the staff. Happy, helpful and just the right of attention. Would we recommend Butterflies, oh absolutely, it was a joy.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in my entire life and I've been to a few. The food is incredible and the staff are very pleasant and can't do enough for you. To top it off the prices are so affordable. They tick all the boxes for me and my family, we can't wait to go again. You need to book very early because you can't get a reservation otherwise, so that on its own speaks for itself. 😊 😊

Thursday night treat. Wow what an experience. When trying to book a table at Butterflies we had to wait 3 weeks to get availability and we can see why. The quality of service and food was incredible. We will definitely be back as soon as we can get availability. Also really looking forward to trying their Sunday lunch but there’s nothing showing on the booking service til sept - will try to get on the cancellation system and hope for the best Thank you for the most amazing meal

First time in Butterflies for many years and we are already looking to book again very soon. The place itself is tastefully decorated and the tables are comfortably spaced apart (not crammed together). I realised before we arrived that it was going to be busy as it had been fully booked for weeks when I tried to reserve a table. Despite it being busy the service and food was prompt . The staff/service was to a high standard and respectful. My husband and I ordered the Chateaubriand which comes medium. I prefer a well cooked steak which I was pleasantly impressed when the waiting staff presented us with a hot plate in order for me to cook mine that little bit longer. Perfect. The amount and quantity of the steak was first class. I would highly recommend Butterflies but I would advise you to book weeks in advance if you need a specific date to visit. Thanks again to everyone that made the night one to remember. Stunning.

First visit to Butterflies for my 73rd Birthday. It lived up to all the reviews and more. The Service was excellent, The meal Superb. We liked the hot stone sent with our Chateaubriand so that we could cook the steak to our individual preference, and overall our experience was fabulous. Will definitely return. The only negative was that we were unable to leave a tip for the excellent service as this could not be added to our bill. We paid by card and did not have any cash on us.

We really cannot recommend this place enough! My partner and I went for a meal to celebrate his birthday, and we were not disappointed! The quality and taste of the food was outstanding!! We had 3 courses each, but the star of the show had to be the cote de boeuf. The chef cooked them to perfection and I love that we were shown them beforehand to choose which cut we would like. Absolutely gorgeous meal at BBK tonight! The staff are so attentive and lovely - they seemed to genuinely love what they do explaining everything if asked and also giving us a heads up on how certain things are cooked / tips! Beautiful food - portions were super filling and flavoursome. The ambience was lovely with the fairy lights and it was lovely & toasty inside as out was dreary and cold! We’ve been once before and both times equally as nice - will be back again soon!! (Can’t seem to add photos but believe me it was spot on!)

Travelled over an hour to try out this restaurant with my husband and we were not disappointed. Amazing food, great service and lovely staff. Portions are really good, Thai fish cakes for starter were amazing, the fish and chips were huge and cooked to perfection and the dessert I had, peanut butter brownie was to die for. Top notch food! Will definitely be returning!

Very overrated , food was very average for the price wanted a rump but only had a massive 24oz and wasn’t aloud to have it halfed and have with my partner and pay the difference and order extra sides to go with it so ended up spending less and having our 2nd option , ordered the garlic and cheese and carmelised red onion and it came and it was picked red onion instead , had a chicken burger and the bread was stale but chicken was decent one we had was boiling hot and the other one wasn’t , croquettes were lovely , staff taking orders were rude and not very helpful , lovely pub inside but very disappointing, the surrounding tables also didn’t seem very happy with the service given

Good standard and plentiful portions - almost too much.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Took my dad for Sunday lunch, only my second visit as it’s always so hard to get a table, but wow! Quality of the food is superb, staff are lovely and Friendly, and so efficient.

Came here for an anniversary meal with my partner and WOW. unbelievable food and service - we opted for the steak experience for 2 and it was out of this world. the steaks were tender and so flavourful. Both sides were impeccable. the mac n cheese being our personal favourite but the dirty onion rings didn’t disappoint. the photo speak for itself but still doesn’t show how truly amazing this meal was. We had everything cooked to how the chef recommended and if it isn’t to your liking they will offer a hot stove for you. But we definitely didn’t need this as the steaks were perfectly cooked for all 3 steaks. Will definitely return

I wasn’t exactly overwhelmed…..the service was average…..the loaded fries were horrible a thick layer of cheese on soggy fries basically…. I was looking forward to eating here as a local because of the hype….but I left feeling disappointed….I expected more.

I normally don’t leave these kinds of reviews but I would like to advise people who happen to be reading reviews to make an informed decision. Myself and my partner were looking for somewhere nice and casual yesterday for a coffee if only for a few mins, after hearing good things we drove here specifically, Google says the shut time on a Sunday is 5:30, however there’s a sign on an intimidating looking door that says it shuts at 5 on a Sunday, the time was 16:40 and we rang the doorbell thinking even if we only had 20 mins, at least we’d get a feel for the restaurant to maybe return on a later date, a man dressed in a suit answers and says that they are closed(I did mention the time on Google/the door and the current time), not even slightly apologetic and kinda dismissive especially when we explained we only wanted a coffee(fair enough turning us away from a Sunday lunch) In any case we started making our way back home and see signs for the Whistle Inn and I would 100% recommend here instead, the restaurant has a gorgeous view of the surrounding landscapes and a small railway line and we spent 3 hours there until it got dark, the few staff members we spoke to were incredibly friendly also, if you’re fancying a late afternoon place to chill and have a drink, it’s a go to Edit for reply, I appreciate the response, I understand it's not your fault that Google takes a while to update. However I’d like to address a few things back, your bookings only for…coffee? Unnecessary in my personal opinion, regardless you can’t expect people to check your social media, Kai may be a nice person but he was slightly dismissive and I’d say working in the public sector at least be apologetic of a situation, we did drive there for specifically your restaurant, at least recommend something different to prevent the wasted journey(the one hour you mentioned in reference to opening times was the reason for the hour long drive there and back for us), that small bit of friendly information would have prevented this review, someone trying to be understanding will never be faulted. The door, when I say intimidating I’m not talking about the style of wood I’m talking about the mouldy printed sign and a ring doorbell, making it feel like someone’s home rather than a restaurant, it’s a weird contrast to the beautiful and bright walls, I’m sure you cater to your patrons well when they can actually enter the place, but we sadly didn't get to experience that

Fabulous food and service. We had the chateaubriand with lobster. and it was the best we have ever had. We will definitely be returning when we can.

My Children recently took me for a meal at Butterflies and it’s fair to say we weren’t disappointed! All staff members were fabulous and nothing was to much for them! Me and my daughter shared the surf and turf which was delicious! Thank you to everyone at Butterflies! We hope to return soon!

I booked a table for my birthday a family meal, due to unforeseen circumstances could not attend as 3 of the party of 6 not well enough to go, as it was a family meal I did not want to still go without everyone present. I called to explain the circumstance and had the most hostile experience I’ve ever had by a member of staff there, he would not give me his name just said he was the owners husband so how he spoke to me would not make a difference due to that! He was extremely rude and aggressive down the phone even hung up on me which left me utterly gobsmacked, all I asked was would we have to pay a deposit due to the circumstances as if so 3 of us would still come as we could not really afford to lose a £60 deposit, but ideally we would like to cancel an book another day as we were planning on driving an hour there also today. I was that shocked at how he spoke to me I recorded the conversation when I called back after being hung up on, it was just appalling behaviour, due to this I will 100% never book to go there now simply based on how rude a member of staff was. You should never work in the public sector if you have no idea how to speak/ deal with customers

Great place with amazing food! Highly recommended! Been a few times and always been stunning food and lovely service by all the girls, especially the younger blonde woman who served us tonight was so lovely and welcoming. Thank you 😇

Waited for a while to get a table here and it was worth the wait. You know a restaurant must be good when you arrive on a dark, rainy Tuesday night and it is packed. The atmosphere was nice, the service prompt and friendly, and the food excellent; we massively enjoyed the creative Welsh Beef trio and the desserts were lovely too. We are quite local, we loved it, we’ll be back…

Tucked away in tight streets of Blaenavon/, booked table online, which you need to as it gets extremely busy. Small venue, but don't let that put you off. Great menu of predominantly British dishes. Wife ordered the beef and stout pie, I had the chicken. You get very generous portions. Was pretty stuffed but made room for a dessert, and glad I did, they were great. Plenty of drinks choice. Prices are pretty decent for quality of food you get, paid about £35 a head. Book it soon.

Lovely meal out with lovely staff, albeit a bit too warm inside. Would return and recommend.
