Best ice cream there is! Love visiting joes, the best vanilla ice cream I have ever had! Can’t recommend enough! 10/10 ..

Following a previous visit to Mumbles we saw this place and the queue was coming out of the door. My husband was keen to get a visit this time round. We were served immediately and although a limited number of flavours per day, we were really pleased with the flavour of the ice creams we chose. Delicious!!

Joe’s ice cream has to be tasted to be believed! It’s quite extraordinary! The most velvety smooth delicious vanilla cream I’ve ever tried. We all had a chocolate sundae and they were amazing.

We were greeted as we sat down by a young male server, who was very helpful and polite. Ice cream was amazing and our baby daughter thoroughly enjoyed her first ice cream at Joes ! The one major thing that spoiled our visit, was the constant loud barking of orders, to the younger staff members, by a miserable sour faced supervisor called Andrea. She startled our daughter and other customers, several times with her loud, aggressive tones. Not what we should have experienced!! Her skills left a lot to be desired and I felt very sorry for the poor young staff members. Working with this supervisor looked like torture and I couldn’t wait to get out of the shop and away from her dulcet tones !! We will make sure it’s Andrea’s day off for our next visit, or take industrial ear plugs !!!

Family had been raving about this place for ages saying how it’s the best ice cream you can get. I had my doubt as how good can vanilla ice cream be… how wrong i was. Absolutely delicious, came two days in a row. Had a cone with 2 scoops first and then the raspberry North Pole on second visit (see pictured). 10/10 would recommend.

First visit and so so good went back the next day. Can honestly say it was the very best vanilla ice cream I have ever tasted. The staff in the Mumbles branch are lovely and just wish there was a shop where I live!

Joe’s ice cream is always good according to the kids. Coffee is also v tasty. Good seating area. Only 4 stars as limited flavours. Gets very busy in the school holidays.

Joe's is famous for being the best ice-cream there is. Having lived in many parts of Britain, I would agree with this. However, I would advise customers to stick to the basic flavours - vanilla, strawberry. others are OK, but a bit gimmicky.

Whenever I am in Mumbles I visit here as the ice cream is lovely and the staff really friendly and good prices. Would recommend.

Whenever we’re in Swansea, we always try to get a Joes. That means it’s been a favourite for over 30 years and it hasn’t disappointed yet! This time we introduced it to our first grandchild and he loved it! Here’s to many more delicious visits!

The ice cream here is always superb and award winning. The vanilla is still our favourite but my son was able to have a vegan chocolate ice cream. Which he really enjoyed.

Nothing has necessarily changed from my last review. Staff are still very Lovely, Ice cream is still the best and it's a staple of something to do in mumbles.

Heard that it was good, but having visited, felt that it was very average. Staff could do more cleaning of the tables and maybe they could better organise the flow of customers in and out of the shop. The chairs and tables outside the serving hatch seem pointless, as people are queuing right by you. Think of an ice-cream van without wheels, and that's what you're getting. Although we had planned to sit inside and to have one each, the sundaes weren't tempting, so we went for a double and a single cone and had a walk. My ice cream seemed as if it was melting when it was put in, whereas the other two flavours in a different cone held firm.

This was recommended by a local person in Swansea and I must say, the ice cream was incredibly delicious.

Had my first ever joes on a trip to Swansea as it was recommended a lot to me & safe to say it did not disappoint!

While visiting The Mumbles I decided to research where to buy / have nice ice cream (having tried a small amount from another venue in the area - not Joe’s ice cream). I came across reviews for Joe’s and saw that it was located on the walk back to my car. I decided to go here and chose a couple of flavours on a cone. I stood at the window and a lady came to serve me shortly, the welcome / greeting was less that ‘warm’ but I decided to order nevertheless. The 2 flavours chosen (chocolate and mint choc chip) tend to be my usual go to choices as I know I enjoy them. I was firstly disappointed to see that my cone was just a basic ordinary cone that one would expect from your everyday ice cream seller or one you can buy in boxes in supermarkets. I expected a sugared cone like you do in good quality ice cream shops : parlours. The cost for the basic cone and 2 flavours was not worth it and the taste was nothing special. I have tried ice creams of these flavours at countless locations and Joe’s was nothing special. Needless to say, I would most likely go elsewhere to have ice cream / desert when visiting The Mumbles again.

Having finished my rissole and chips from Dick Bartons, I reckoned a walk from the car park would make just enough room for a Joe's down Mumbles. Weather wasn't great so we ate in this time. For those not familiar to Swansea, Joe's ice-cream is an institution and if you're going to be serious about it you have to get one fresh from one of the 3 parlours. The ones out of a tub from shops that also sell it just don't taste the same. Anyway, 3 of us had strawberry marshmallow sundaes while the clever choice would be to have raspberry crumble sundae, which is what I did. They had medium, I had small but only because I'd had a medium the day before. It was lush.

The Ice cream was very good, however the young lady that was serving us was learning how to do the ice creams and was being berated scolded by an older female member of staff. We were polite to young member of staff but we didnt...

We called in for ice cream which was so delicious my husband usually chooses a flavoured ice cream but the Vanilla was amazing.I recommend the rum and raisin.

Their original vanilla ice cream is superb. Just wish they would use glass dishes when dining inside as I'm old enough to remember them and makes a nicer experience.

Large ice-cream shop with some inside seating. Also serve ok coffee and some cakes. Very fast service due to the number of staff serving. Easy access for buggies and wheelchairs. One toilet available inside for customers. Very friendly staff. Would recommend. Please like if this...

It's a shame that great ice-cream like this is served by such roude people, and it's the first place I had to disinfect my hand on the way out, dirty tables, soiled souveiets left on the tables, and a general poor standard of hygiene, COVID...

All I can say, as an Ice cream addict is that you really need to go to Joe's . It is the best vanilla ice-cream that I have ever had and I have been eating it for over 50 years!! They have lots of flavours...

If you never been to Joe's before you will be hooked ice-cream out of this world I don't normally like ice-cream but adore Joe's ice-cream can't get enough 5 *service and mouth watering ice-cream.😋

The ice cream is ok....serving sizes are ok....the choice of flavours was pathetic and the service left a great deal to be desired....case in point 'do you have a broken cornet to give my dog some ice cream' ' yeah 50p' 'it's broken...you can't use...

Joes was recommended by our Welsh friends and wow, they were right, probably the best ice cream we've had! Went back a couple of times during our stay and if we stay in the area again it would be our first stop!

Always great ice cream fresh from the churn. Not the stuff in pots. Love the creamy flavour. Even had it delivered to the home during LOCKDOWN. My favourite is a North-pole with caramel sauce and chocolate sprinkles, Yum yum!A little of what you fancy does you good.

Generous portions with happy staff, what more could you ask for. Visiting Swansea for a week, will definitely be back.

Wow! I read the reviews and knew I had to try the vanilla ice cream and it was so worth it. It is absolutely delicious, we regretted only having singles the first day and made sure to have doubles the next. The prices were really reasonable, a lot less than I expected to pay, 1.70 for a single scoop of vanilla in a cone or tub and only 10p for sprinkles, and my son got loads of sprinkles. We'll definitely be back!

I had the special of the day, rum and raisins, and I had to admit it is by far one of the most delicious ice creams I had in Europe! I came back the next day for the vanilla one with toppings :)

As a Swansea resident returning to the area after many years away I would love to know what happened to Joe's Icecream. The flavour is different it's extremely overpriced. And when I asked for a Strawberry Sundae I was given a Strawberry Marshmellow Sundae. I has one mouthful before realising and told the waitress of the mistake. She offered me an alternative or my money back. I took the money. Wont be going here again. Branch was the one by St Helen's Rd.

Grew up in Cornwall with clotted cream ice cream but nothing compares to Joe’s absolutely amazing ice cream

Thank you for allowing my niece to change her young babies nappy today I was really appreciated As your toilets were closed the young lady went into the baby changing area to check it was ok to use before we were allowed to use it Fab customer service

The ice cream at joes is amazing. but when I went on a Wednesday afternoon it was very busy. There was lots of children screaming and crying but that might of just been because it was school pick up time. I had a vanilla cone and sprinkles and my friend had a chocolate cone with sprinkles both were very good and were very good price. Amazing edibles but not fine dining.

The fact that there were always queues of people at Joes says how good the ice cream is. Absolutely delicious!

Only stayed 4 days in Swansea (after a 14 year absence) and we managed to eat ice cream in the Mumbles and Swansea branch - sadly these days only takeaway. Even better than remembered!

Had been told I had to try an ice cream from Joes. Disappointed as although the ice cream itself was nice the cone was stale tasting and I found it to be overpriced.

Who doesn't love an ice cream? This place is beyond your normal scoop from an ice cream van. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny and more!

I have been to the parlour many times and enjoyed great ice cream. However with covid there was no sit down experience and I had to take my ice cream outside in a plastic cup.This was an expensive meal given I was now sitting on a wall eating my delux icecream with anyone else who bought a cone from the local iceland.Sorry but you really need to bring back the parlour experience somehow . Until then I will not be returning

The only other place i remember having better ice cream was in Venice, otherwise this was really good, although didn't have the flavours I wanted.

I don’t know the secret ingredient, but this ice cream has been a favourite in Swansea for as long as I can remember, and that’s a long time! The consistency of the ice cream is gloopy and irresistible. Watching the customers scrape at the bottom of their sundae containers when it’s all gone is very entertaining. During the pandemic the internal seating has been removed to allow multiple customers to be served safely at the same time with card payments only. Yum!

The ice cream here is known for being the best there is. So many flavours. Excellent friendly staff.

We have been having Joe's for years and always take the grand children. We love the taste of Joe's and do truly think it is the best we have ever had. It completes our family days our. Heather

Stood in the line to get our ice-cream and when we get in we are told by a very unhelpful lady that you can't have a cone. Why still have great big waffle cones on display if they aren't available?! Only 4 flavours in a tub which I could buy in a supermarket. Would rather have a Ben and jerries! Won't bother again very disappointed

After being told all about Joes we were looking forward to having an ice cream however I can understand due to cv limited flavours are on offer but upon getting to the front I asked what flavours were on offer and the lady pointed to 4 little pots on the desk these were already pre made, I asked if we could have a cone however they were not available, a sign outside would have been helpful stating that it was a limited selection. We then noticed others coming out with cones and apparently if you have vanilla you could have a cone the lady who served us was not very helpful.

Was looking forward to it as my dad and uncle use to bring me when i was child .l know it wouldn't be the same but good manners by staff is a must .wWen your wearing a mask and your behind a screen people Cant Hear you so no reason to be rude.Not the best experience and have had far better sundae.First mouthful a spoon of thick sauce is not the best experience

Being married to a Welshman means he dreams of Joes (and Brains SA) when far from the green, green grass of home. It has to be vanilla, and only vanilla. I got into trouble for the caramel sauce I had on mine 10 years ago but I have to agree it is the best vanilla you'll ever have :)

You can’t beat a Joes. All there stores throughout Swansea are amazing. They adapted throughout lockdown with bundles which we had on quite a few occasions. If your in Swansea joes is a must have!!

Ice cream was lovely,very tasty. Moody older lady on the door though and definitely didn't give a service to remember. Yes it is busy, yes everyone has to be safe but you don't need to be so grumpy.

This is ‘famous’ in the area so needs to be visited. Although there was a short queue, it moved quickly because they have a number of tills. A good choice of ice cream and tasty.

I don't live in Swansea, but everytime I visit Joe's is my first stop. The ice-cream can't be beaten.

Really lovely atmosphere in this place. I've been coming to Joe's in Mumbles for all my life and it never disappoints! The ice cream is absolutely top notch, and the staff are always pleasant. Always clean in this Joe's and is situated beautifully in the heart of The Mumbles.

Served quickly. Had several different items as there were 4 of us. They didn’t quite understand the order so one was done wrongly but we still accepted it as all of the ice creams are lovely. We will return

If you are visiting the Swansea area you must try a Joe's ice-cream. It is delicious. The main parlour is at St Helens Rd with a smaller one at Mumbles. ENJOY!

Joe's ice cream is an institution, it has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, it really is the best ice cream in Wales. A statement agreed but try it for yourself.

The best ice cream on the planet and you never know you might just see a royal. We tend to stick with the vanilla as it’s so creamy and tasty and then you can add sprinkles and wafers and the like. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s never let us down although it can get very busy in the summer.

Worth travelling to Wales for this ice cream. Delicious ice-cream. Staff are helpful and friendly. Brings back childhood memories

I have been eating Joe's ice cream whenever I can since the early 1970's and over all that time the taste and texture of their vanillas has remained the same - it is just the best and there is nothing else to say really!

For anyone visiting the Mumbles, a Joe's is a must (however I have to confess I don't like it that much as it's too sweet for me). My family will tell you this is the best ice-cream in the area, if not in Wales!!!

Famous ice cream parlour within Mumbles which does a large variation of ice cream, however my favourite is their famous vanilla. Definitely recommend going to Joe's.
