I had a very disappointing experience here. I purchased a dining voucher from Itison, which the manager scanned, but his attitude was rude and unprofessional. He insisted that dishes with prawns or seafood weren’t included in the offer, despite there being no mention of this in the fine print. When I asked him to show me where it was stated, he couldn’t find it because it wasn’t there. He reluctantly admitted I could order it, but did so with a bad attitude.
I decided not to dine due to the unpleasant experience and asked for a refund, which he refused, saying I had to contact Itison instead, even though he had already scanned the voucher. Very poor customer service and an unwelcoming attitude—I won’t be returning.
The food was excellent - beautifully presented and very tasty. Service was efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend the blade of beef which was cooked to perfection.

Ice cream amazing as always but it's lost the ice cream parlour feeling I loved.
Hardly any tables, bar style seating, too high for my grandchildren.
Missed the menu with Sundaes..trying to figure out your own sundae is tricky when there's a big queue behind you.
This place has great artwork and is extremely cute. The food comes in a fish shaped plate and is very cool. The food was delish. It does the breakfast till 4pm if you want a late breakfast and is open from 11am till 10pm.There is only one toilet which was also very clean.

We unfortunately found this hotel to be very dirty: There was mold in our shower and cigarette butts on the carpet in the hallway. We didn't see anyone vacuum for the 4 days we were there. Leftover food stuck to the dishes at breakfast. Also, the staff was appallingly rude: if you ask a question, they act so annoyed. Unfortunate all around. The rooms are very tiny. The one plus was a decent location.

What I witnessed at BrewDog Ellon was not just bad service — it was outright racism, plain and simple.
My partner and her friend — a Black woman — arrived before me and asked for a table. Her friend, who spoke to the host, was immediately told there were no tables available and that they could sit outside. When she politely asked if they could be notified if something opened up, the host responded with obvious irritation and said there would be nothing available for hours.
Yet when I walked in less than a minute later, as a white man, the exact same host told me tables were available — specifically, high tables that she never mentioned to them. I was seated immediately.
When my partner and her friend came to join me, the host gave them a disgusted look and refused to even acknowledge them. She spoke only to me — as if they weren’t worth her time.
It got even worse. My partner’s friend’s drink was randomly cancelled. While the rest of us received our food and drinks, she got nothing — not even an update. We waited over 30 minutes, and she only got her order after she went up to ask for it herself. The message was loud and clear: she was being deliberately ignored.
The difference in treatment was not subtle — it was targeted, dehumanizing, and racist. Watching it unfold was infuriating and heartbreaking. No one should be made to feel so unwelcome and invisible because of the colour of their skin.
BrewDog talks a big game about diversity and inclusion, but at Ellon, that’s clearly just for show. This experience was humiliating and disgusting, and they should be held accountable.
